This study considers a scheduling problem with ready times for multi-functional machines. The objective is to develop and evaluate heuristic algorithms that optimize the make-span, the mean flow time and the machine utilization. A numerical example illustrates the proposed heuristic algorithm. The result shows that the our algorithm provides better solution in multiple performance measures than another heuristic algorithms.

An improved retinal tack can be used to fix the retina in complicated retinal detachment and proliferative vitreoretinopathy. We used the retinal tack made by biodegradable polyglycolic acid, polylactic acid and copolymers. The tacks with polyglycolic acid were placed in the retina the right eyes of 10 rabbits as group 1, with polylactic-polyglycolic acid copolymers as group 2 in each left eyes. We examined the absorption rates and degree of intraocular inflammation at 1 day, 1, 2, 4, and 8 weeks and compared both eyes. The tacks were absorbed with time in both eyes, but more rapid in copolymers. And there was no inflammation in both eyes. Now, this study will be a base on the drug delivery system in intraocular pharmacological and surgical management.

This study is concerned with job-shop scheduling for a production system with multi-functional machines. The objective is to develop and evaluate simulation models that optimize make-span, mean flow time and machine utilization. Numerical examples illustrate the proposed SIMAN simulation models. This result shows that our simulation approach provides better solution in multiple performance measures than another heuristic algorithms.

This study is concerned with the Failure Mode Effect Analysis(FMEA) for small and medium industries. The purpose of this study is to develop a FMEA module to apply to other quality management systems. It includes a fail mode data base, a design FMEA sub-module, a process FMEA sub-module, a Risk Priority Number(RPN) evaluation sub-module, and a FMEA chart. Appling this module, it is expected higher productivity and reliability in the manufacturing industry.

This study is concerned with job shop scheduling for a production system with multi-functional machines. The purpose of this study is to develop the heuristic algorithm using tabu search for job shop scheduling to optimize make-span, mean flow time or machine utilization. To apply tabu search for multi-functional job shop scheduling, in this study we propose the appropriate definitions of tabu attributes and a efficient method that generates the neighborhood solution, and present a rescheduling procedure that yields active schedules, and discuss the tabu search techniques of diversifying the search of solution space.

A new device, muscle clamping system was developed to facilitate exact quatifying technique A strabismus surgery, and reduce the risk of complications. The device is composed of a lower fixing body with three jaws and an upper supporting body. They are used to clip an extraocular muscle and fix it to the sclera with a single bite. Superior rectus recession on 16 rabbit eyes were performed with this new device. Conjunctival injection, muscle adhesion strength, and light microscopic findings were examined at 1, 2, 4 and 8 weeks postoperatively. The Conjunctival injection were minimal, adhesion power ranged from 420 to 600 gram gravity, which is sufficient in withstand the normal pull of human extraocular muscle. In microscopic exam, some Inflammatory cells and fibrosis were found. The new device was technically easy, fast, and accurate, so it may be useful in stabismus surgery.

This study considers a operating system for a Call Center. The purpose of this study is to analyze optimal operating system for a general call taxi type call center using ARENA simulation study. To analyze an optimal operating system, we must decide the number of staffs, telephone lines and the member size of service facilities satisfying customer's service level. This study also develops a ARENA simulation model for B Call Center in Busan.

This research is performed for the purpose of helping small and medium enterprises in Pusan Korea through developing a Total Scheduling Module(TSM) considering their practical environments. The TSM consists of four sub-modules : a basic information sub-modules, a marketing information sub-module, an inventory control sub-module and a production control sub-module. And the TSM is developed for Network version under Client/Server environment.

The purpose of this study is to develop an internet based physical distribution management system for electronic commerce. It includes an internet shopping mall which has multi-supply centers and a decision agent. And, it has supporting systems such as a mailing system, a bulletin board system, etc. for inter-communication with customers. Appling this system, it is expected that not only the administrator could operate physical distribution efficiently but also customers could do their better shopping via internet.

Scheduling is very important problem in managing any system in anywhere. In recent years Factory Automation is accomplished by accepting the multi-functional machines. So obtaining the optimal scheduling solution is very difficult. and if the considering factors are increased, the optimal scheduling is more difficult. So in this study proposes the convenient heurisic algoritm considered machine utilization, mean flow time of each product and tool life of each machine.
