In this study, the effects of NaOH and KOH alkali activators of various concentrations on the performance of alkali activated waste concrete powder (WCP) was discussed. The samples activated by alkaline solutions were cured for up to 28 days and then compressive strength test was performed. These samples were also characterized using various techniques to explore the phase evolution, and microstructural changes. Results showed superior performance of NaOH-activated WCP. Additionally, activation of WCP by 8M concentrated alkali solutions improved the strength, reactivity and microstructure of alkali activated WCP binder sample.

In this study, oxidized graphene nanoplatelet(GO) was prepared by oxidizing graphene nanoplatelet(GNP) with nitric acid in order to solve the problem of dispersion of GNP, one of nano materials. GNP/Epoxy and GO/Epoxy were prepared by mixing GNP, GO with 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 1.0 wt.% in epoxy and the mechanical properties, bond performance were evaluated. As a result, GNP/Epoxy and GO/Epoxy showed higher tensile strength than Neat Epoxy at the 0.1, 0.3 wt.%. Especially, when 0.1 wt.% of GO was incorporated into epoxy resin, it showed highest tensile strength. It was confirmed that acid treatment of GNP was effective in improving the mechanical properties of epoxy paint. However, graphene material was found that it was not effective in improving the bond strength of the epoxy paint.

In this study, the mechanical properties, alkali-silica reaction(ASR) expansion and residual mechanical properties after ASR of waste glass fine aggregate(GS) mortar according to mineral mixture were evaluated. As a result, it was found that the mineral mixture reduces the ASR expansion. However, mechanical properties and residual mechanical properties have decreased.

This study measured the mechanical performance and residual strength of high strength/normal strength mortar mixed with waste glass fine aggregate after alkali-silica reaction and alkali-silica reaction. As a result, the effect of improving the slip phenomenon of the waste glass fine aggregate in the high-strength mortar was not significant, but rather the amount of ASR was increased.

The non-destructive method using ultrasonic waves has been applied in many studies due to its low damage to the structure and its simple evaluation method and high precision. On the other hand, if the concrete is subjected to a high-temperature, the mechanical properties may be deteriorated due to the micro-crack network and the damage may be severe depending on the strength of the concrete. Therefore, this study attempts to evaluate the fundamental wave behavior of different strength ranges using the ultrasonic non-destructive method for concrete that has been subjected to high-temperature. As a result, the relative power of the fundamental wave was decreased as temperature increase. And it was confirmed that the 2nd and 3rd harmonics were generated at 110 MPa. However, to check the 2nd, 3rd harmonics 110 MPa or less, there is a need for further research considering the ultrasonic output, the output of the sender and receiver, and the appropriate frequency accordingly.

In this study, effect of surface modification of waste glass for fine aggregates on the mechanical properties and alkali silica reaction of mortar was analyzed. As a result, it was confirmed that the incorporation of waste glass fine aggregate decreases the mechanical properties of the mortar and increase the alkali silica reaction expansion. On the other hand, the surface modification of the waste glass fine aggregate is effective in improving this problem. However, unlike green and brown waste glass, it is judged that an additional experiment to determine the cause is necessary for white waste glass where alkali silica reactive expansion occurs extremely.
