<P>For iterative detection and decoding (IDD) in multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems, although the maximum a posteriori (MAP) detector can achieve an optimal performance, because of its prohibitively high computational complexity, various low-complexity approximate MAP detectors are studied. Among the existing MIMO detectors for the non-IDD receivers, lattice reduction (LR)-aided detectors can provide a near maximum-likelihood (ML) detector's performance with reasonably low complexity, and they could be modified to be used in the IDD receivers. In this study, the authors propose a bit-level LR-aided MIMO detector whose performance can approach that of the MAP detector, where a priori information is taken into account for soft-decisions. Furthermore, the proposed method can be extended to large dimensional MIMO systems by channel matrix decomposition and successive interference cancellation, by which a significant complexity reduction can be achieved. Through simulations and complexity analysis, it is shown that a near-optimal performance is obtained by the authors proposed low-complexity bit-level LR-aided detector for the IDD in the MIMO systems.</P>

Purpose: Gastric cancer is a highly metastatic malignant tumor, often characterized by chemoresistance and high mortality. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the role of B-cell lymphoma 3 (Bcl-3) protein on cell migration and chemosensitivity of gastric cancer. Materials and Methods: The gastric cancer cell lines, AGS and NCI-N87, were used for the in vitro studies and the in vivo studies were performed using BALB/c nude mice. Western blotting, wound healing assay, Cell Counting Kit-8 assay, immunohistochemistry, and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling assay were used to evaluate the role of Bcl-3 in gastric cancer. Results: We found that the protein expression of hypoxia (HYP)-inducible factor-1α and Bcl-3 were markedly upregulated under hypoxic conditions in both AGS and NCI-N87 cells in a time-dependent manner. Interestingly, small interfering RNA-mediated knockdown of Bcl-3 expression affected the migration and chemosensitivity of the gastric cancer cells. AGS and NCI-N87 cells transfected with si-RNA-Bcl-3 (si-Bcl-3) showed significantly reduced migratory ability and increased chemosensitivity to oxaliplatin, 5-fluorouracil, and irinotecan. In addition, si-Bcl-3 restored the autophagy induced by HYP. Further, the protective role of si-Bcl-3 on the gastric cancer cells could be reversed by the autophagy inducer, rapamycin. Importantly, the in vivo xenograft tumor experiments showed similar results. Conclusions: Our present study reveals that Bcl-3 knockdown inhibits cell migration and chemoresistance of gastric cancer cells through restoring HYP-induced autophagy.
Study on the bio-function of lipA gene in Aspergillus flavus

Lipoic acid synthase (LipA) plays a role in lipoic acid synthesis and potentially affects the levels of acetyl-CoA, the critical precursor of tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle. Considering the potential effect of LipA on TCA cycle, whether the enzyme is involved in the growth and aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) biosynthesis, the significant events in Aspergillus flavus is yet known. The study was designed to explore the role of lipA gene in A. flavus, including growth rate, conidiation, sclerotia formation, and biosynthesis of AFB1. LipA coding lipoic acid synthetase was knocked out using homologous recombination. The role of lipA gene in A. flavus morphogenesis (including colony size, conidiation, and sclerotia formation) was explored on various media, and the bio-function of lipA gene in the biosynthesis of AFB1 was analyzed by thin layer chromatography analysis. The growth was suppressed in △lipA. The formation of conidia and sclerotia was also reduced when lipA gene was deleted. Moreover, AFB1 was down-regulated in ΔlipA compared with WT controls. LipA plays a role in the development of A. flavus and AFB1 biosynthesis, contributing to the full understanding of the lipA bio-function in A. flavus.
ABO Blood Groups and Risk of Cancer: a Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Background: For decades, studies have been performed to evaluate the association between ABO blood groups and risk of cancer. However, whether ABO blood groups are associated with overall cancer risk remains unclear. We therefore conducted a meta-analysis of observational studies to assess this association. Materials and Methods: A search of Pubmed, Embase, ScienceDirect, Wiley, and Web of Knowledge databases (to May 2013) was supplemented by manual searches of bibliographies of key retrieved articles and relevant reviews. We included case-control studies and cohort studies with more than 100 cancer cases. Results: The search yielded 89 eligible studies that reported 100,554 cases at 30 cancer sites. For overall cancer risk, the pooled OR was 1.12 (95%CI: 1.09-1.16) for A vs. non- A groups, and 0.84 (95%CI: 0.80-0.88) for O vs. non-O groups. For individual cancer sites, blood group A was found to confer increased risk of gastric cancer (OR=1.18; 95%CI: 1.13-1.24), pancreatic cancer (OR=1.23; 95%CI: 1.15-1.32), breast cancer (OR=1.12; 95%CI: 1.01-1.24), ovarian cancer (OR=1.16; 95%CI: 1.04-1.27), and nasopharyngeal cancer (OR=1.17; 95%CI: 1.00-1.33). Blood group O was found to be linked to decreased risk of gastric cancer (OR=0.84; 95%CI: 0.80-0.88), pancreatic cancer (OR=0.75; 95%CI: 0.70-0.80), breast cancer (OR=0.90; 95%CI: 0.85-0.95), colorectal cancer (OR=0.89; 95%CI: 0.81-0.96), ovarian cancer (OR=0.76; 95%CI: 0.53-1.00), esophagus cancer (OR=0.94; 95%CI: 0.89-1.00), and nasopharyngeal cancer (OR=0.81; 95%CI: 0.70-0.91). Conclusions: Blood group A is associated with increased risk of cancer, and blood group O is associated with decreased risk of cancer.

Renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (RI/R) is one of the main causes of acute renal injury and a commonclinical disease with high morbidity and mortality. It is of great significance to deliver microRNAs(miRNAs) to cells and in vivo to realize gene regulation and treatment of related diseases. In this study, wereported that the nanocomplex FMN-17 could realize both therapeutic and functional monitoringsimultaneously in vivo and in vitro. The nanocomplex comprised a cationic cell-penetrating peptidenona-arginine, a targeting ligand folic acid, a caspase-3 responsive moiety, and a Cy imaging moiety. Thenanocomplex FMN-17 has been shown to deliver miR-17-5p efficiently and selectively into HK-2 cells andtissues. Treatment of HK-2 cells with the nanocomplex significantly increased the miR-17-5p level andinhibited apoptosis, as evident by reducing the expression of active caspase-3 and reactive oxygenspecies. Uptake of FMN-17 in vivo alleviated renal tissue injury by histological assessment. In summary,we designed and synthesized a new miRNA delivery system with high transfection efficiency, goodtherapeutic effect, and near-infrared imaging in renal ischemia/reperfusion injury.

The purpose of this study is to identify the structural relationship among hotel customers experience, customer emotion, customer delight and revisit intention. Data were collected from the customer who have used five star deluxe hotels from April 13 to 23 2015, and finally 227 questionaries were analyzed. To test the hypotheses, structural equation model is employed. The results are as followed. First, customer experience has a positive impact on customer emotion and customer delight. Second, customer emotion affects on customer delight. Third, customer emotion and delight have a positive impact on revisit intention. In addition, strategies that arouse customer delight are discussed.
