      • KS H ISO 1242 표준의 평가 : 라반딘 정유의 산값 측정

        The acid value (AV) as well as the ester value of essential oil is an important index to evaluate quality of essential oil. The official standard analytical method of KS H ISO 1242 dealing with “Essential oils - Determination of acid value” was assessed experimentally using two lavandin essential oils obtained in France as an example. One French lavandin oil sample showed the results of AV= 0.9 by both indicator method and potentiometry. Another sample showed AV = 1.9 by indicator method and AV = 1.6 by potentiometry. Latter lavandin oil sample exhibited significantly higher acid value than maximum value of 1 described in the standard. This result suggests that latter lavandin oil was contaminated, because this oil was contained in an orange juice bottle. Results of this study proved that KS H ISO 1242 could be used as a suitable scientific standard for the determination of acid value of essential oils.

        고등학교 토론 단원 교수ㆍ학습의 비판적 분석

        이 연구에서는 고등학교 국어 교과서의 토론 단원 통합 방식, 토론 지식의 설명 방식, 학습 활동의 타당성, 평가의 타당성 등에 대하여 비판적으로 분석하였다. 현재 국어과 교과서의 토론 단원 구성 방식을 ‘통합교육’이라는 측면에서 살펴보면, 토론 단원은 듣기, 말하기 영역의 통합과 여기에 더하여 읽기 영역이 통합된 것이 전부이다. 국어 능력의 총체적인 발달과 효율적 교수-학습을 위해, 쓰기와 문학과의 영역 통합도 가능하며, 말하기 또는 듣기 영역 내에서도 다른 성취 기준과의 통합도 가능하기에 보다 통합적으로 단원을 구성할 필요가 있다. 교과서 토론 단원에서 토론 지식을 설명하는 방법은 크게 ‘설명형’과 ‘요약형’으로 구분 가능한데, 대부분의 검정 교과서들이 ‘요약형’으로 제시함으로써 토론 지식을 단순히 정보 차원의 암기대상으로 다루는 문제점이 있었다. 이 논문에서는 교과서의 토론 단원에서 논제 분석과 토론의 유형과 절차 등 이해가 필요한 부분은 자세하게 ‘설명형’으로 제시하고 토론의 개념, 논제의 종류, 토론 참여자의 역할 등은 간략하게 ‘요약형’으로 제시하는 ‘혼합형’으로 제시하는 방법을 제안하였다. 이 연구에서는 토론 단원에 제시된 학습 활동의 타당성을, 교육과정에 제시되어 있는 여섯 가지 내용 요소를 기준으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 여섯 가지 내용 요소가 유기적으로 연결되어야 한다는 점, 활동이 정보 확인 차원에 머무르지 않고 실제적으로 학생들의 토론 능력을 향상할 수 있도록 활동을 구성해야 한다는 점, 학습자의 수준을 고려하여 충분히 상세하게 안내해야 한다는 점 등을 지적하였다. 이 밖에 이 연구에서는 교과서 토론 단원에 제시되어 있는 토론 평가 기준이 타당한가를, 평가 범주, 방식, 내용의 타당성을 중심으로 분석하고 그 문제점과 개선 방안을 제안하였다. This research critically analyzed the integration of the debate unit, explanations about debate knowledge, validity of learning activities and validity of assessment for high school. In terms of the integrated education for debate unit of Korean textbooks, the current debate unit is based merely on the integration of listening, speaking and reading. Integration of writing and literature is possible as well as that of listening and speaking. Besides, integrating other achievement standards under the same language skill is also possible. The way to describe the knowledge in debate consists of explanatory and summarizing types. Most approved textbooks employes summarizing type and regards the debate knowledge as what should be memorized. However, this study suggests that analysis of the discussion topic, types and procedures of the debate should be explained in detail (explanatory type), while the concept of debate, types of issues, and the role of participants should be given briefly in summary (summarizing type). The validity of learning activities in debate unit was analyzed on the basis of the six key elements of the curriculum. The authors pointed out that the six key elements should be organically connected, the activities should be organized practically in order to improve the debate ability of the learners, and detailed information should be provided with consideration of the learners’ level. Finally, the validity of debate assessment criteria provided in the debate unit of the textbooks was analyzed in terms of assessment categories, assessment methods and the validity of the contents.

      • 자동측정망 데이터를 이용한 국내 항공기소음 실태 조사

        Currently domestic criteria for the aircraft noise is being adapted WECPNL(weighted equivalent continuous perceived noise level), while internationally preferred method is L_(dn) which is originated from L_(eq) and can evaluate even environmental noise. WECPNL used in domestic as a evaluation method is only for the aircraft noise. It is, therefore, not adequate for the evaluation of residents' injury, moreover, it is very difficult to measure the aircraft noise with WECPNL due to the complicated calculating procedures as long as automatic measuring system is not used This study aims to propose alternative evaluation method for the aircraft noise. To achieve this purpose, the data measured by automatic measuring system in 5 places among domestic airports from 1998 to 2002 were gathered and calculated with three evaluation method ; WECPNL, L_(eq) and L_(dn) and the results calculated from different methods were compared and analyzed. At the same time, it was investigated problems generated from the actual operating of the automatic measuring system and that remedy was presented.

        도심 공원의 음 풍경 디자인을 위한 실험적 연구

        UV-illuminated chemical bath deposition of CdS buffer layer for CIGSSe solar cells

        In this paper, we compare the performance of Cu(In,Ga)(S,Se)2 (CIGSSe) thin film solar cells with a CdS buffer layer grown by chemical bath deposition (CBD) with UV irradiation of 365 nm or 254 nm at an output power of 8 W. The effects of UV light irradiation on the CBD-CdS thin film deposition mechanism were investigated through chemical and electro-optical studies. UV light irradiation during the solution process promotes the hydrolysis of thiourea, thereby inhibiting the formation of the intermediate products being developed on the reaction pathways and decreasing the solution pH. Therefore, the efficiency of the CdS/CIGSSe solar cells was improved because of the increased elemental ratio of S/(S + O) in the CdS thin film. This very simple and effective approach can be used to control the S/O ratio of the CdS thin film fabricated by the CBD process without artificially controlling the process temperature, solution pH or concentration.

      • LC-MS/MS Based Multi-omics Approaches for Prebiotic Inulin Utilization on Faecalibacterium prausnitzii

        The human gut commensal bacteria Faecalibacterium prausnitzii is well known for its anti-inflammatory effects that improve host intestinal health. Although several studies reported that inulin, one of the well-known prebiotics, increases the abundance of F. prausnitzii in the intestine, the mechanism under this effect of inulin remains unclear. Here, we applied LC-MS/MS-based multi-omics approaches to confirm the effects of inulin on F. prausnitzii. Interestingly, the proteomic analysis revealed that the putative proteins involved in sucrose utilization of F. prausnitzii are upregulated in the presence of inulin. To investigate the function of the proteins, we cloned the target genes, and observed the ability for sucrose degradation. In addition, we demonstrated that the sucrose degradation activity in F. prausnitzii culture media is enhanced by using inulin as a carbon source compared to glucose. Taken together, this study suggests that the reduction of sucrose induced by inulin could potentially improve host health and prevent gut dysbiosis like type 2 diabetes which is associated with sucrose.

        Trends, Functionalities, and Prospects of Probiotics

        The importance of beneficial microorganisms, particularly probiotics, that coexist in the human body, is being increasingly recognized. Probiotics are representative health functional foods that provide health benefits to humans through the production of various metabolites, including short-chain fatty acids. However, the health benefits are strain-specific, and the use of each probiotic strain should follow guidelines that assure its safety. Accurate identification of the strain should be managed through genetic and phenotypic analyses of the strain. Besides, the functionality of probiotics should be disclosed in vitro and in vivo so that they can be used as legal functional ingredients (i.e., individual standards). In this review, we deal with the guidelines, including the technical factors related to probiotic strains. The common health effects of probiotic strains include proliferation of beneficial bacteria, control of harmful bacteria, and facilitation of bowel activities. Probiotics with various functionalities (e.g., body fat and cholesterol reduction, vaginal health, and improvement of skin’s immune system) have been investigated as “individual standards of raw materials for health functional foods” provided by MFDS. In the future, various biotechnologies including synthetic biology can be applied to produce customized probiotics to improve human health.

        Amounts of Oral Microorganism according to Use of the Interdental Brush with Cethyl Pyridium Chloride Solution

        Objective: Interdental brush can be used at proximal area of the interdental space and prosthodontic or orthodontic appliance where is hard to access by use of normal toothbrush. It is well known that lots of oral microorganism would be inside of gingival pocket at the proximal area and it should be eliminated with clean way. Methods: The author has measured the amounts of the oral microorganism at proximal area by use of adenosine triphosphate unit (SURE PlusTM) for 50 adults volunteers, after using the interdental brush and after sterilization with cethyl pyridium chloride (CPC) solution, through inserting the tip of the interdental brush into the CPC solution for a minute with shaking it. Amounts of oral microorganism at proximal area were measured as relative light units (RLU) unit and gingival index with Löe and Silness index and gingival pocket depth were measured, in order to find the relation between the amounts of oral microorganism and their Value, by use of Pearson’s co-relation coefficient. Results: The results were as followings: 1. Oral microorganism at the tip of interdental brush afterusing at the proximal area was checked as average 9,492.9±407.2 RLU and a little decreased value as 8,959.8±485.4 RLU on proximal area after applying of CPC solution (p<0.01). Otherwise the least value was revealed as 4,766.8±2,829.7 RLU after applying the used tip of interdental brush at the proximal area, by inserting into the CPC solution and shaking for a minute (p<0.01). 2. Average 9,475.6±368.2 RLU at proximal area was revealed before mouth rinsing with CPC solution, buta little bit decreased as 8,792.9±620.1 RLU, after a minute mouth rinsing with CPC solution (p<0.01). Conclusion: Based on the results, we concluded that disinfection and cleaning method by inserting the interdental brush tip in CPC solution and shaking for a minute, is clinically recommended to keep the tip clean after use at the proximal area.
