Simultaneous Multiple Basal Ganglia and Cerebellar Hemorrhage: Case Report

A 35-year-old man presented with simultaneous multiple intracranial hematomas in the right cerebellar dentate nucleus and left basal ganglia. The hematomas were visible by computed tomography performed within two hours of the patient's arrival. The initial computed tomography showed acute hemorrhage in the left basal ganglia and dentate nucleus in cerebellum. The patient then experienced a change of consciousness due to newly developed hydrocephalus, and emergent extra-ventricular drainage was performed. By discharge, fortunately, the patient was fully recovered.

토지이용이 어떻게 수질에 영향을 주는가를 연구하고자 1993년 3월 부터 1998년 3월 까지 조사를 실시하였다. 조사지는 충북 옥천군 이원면의 경작지가 주류를 이루는 개심저수지와 산지유역으로 특성지워지는 장찬저수지 유역을 대상으로 하였다. 조사유역을 11개 소집수역으로 세분하고 토지이용과 하천수질과의 상관성, 하천 유역의 오염원 동태를 생태학적 관점에서 규명하고자 조사를 실시하였다. BOD, SS, TKN은 하류로 갈수록 높아졌으나 자정 한계를 넘어선 G 소집수역은 예외였다. 장찬저수지 유역은 가두리 양식장 때문에 수질이 악화되어 있는 것으로 나타나 양식장의 폐쇄가 시급한 것으로 조사되었다. .해발표고는 200 m 이하가 개심저수지 유역 56.0%, 장찬저수지 유역 44.0%로 대부분을 차지하였다. 비삼림지역은 전체 조사면적 44.91 ㎢중 14.74 ㎢로 32.8%를 차지하였는데 특히 경작지와 주거지 면적 비의 증가에 따라 총인(Y=0.2023X+0.0991, r=0.54)이 증가되고 있다. 토지이용별 오염 배출원 단위가 수질에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 농경지의 오염부하량은 매우 크며 비점오염물질이 하천에 유입, 유하 하는 동안 물리, 화학, 생화학적, 생물학적 변화를 거쳐 농도가 낮아지고 있다. 그러나 삼림지역의 오염부하량은 농경지의 오염부하량 보다는 상대적으로 작으나 오히려 하천으로 유입, 유하하는 동안 오염 물질의 양이 높아졌다. Characterization of water quality was performed from March 1993 to March 1998, on the purpose of clarifying the relationships between water quality and land use types. The study sites were two reservoir basins; Kaesim and Jangchan in Iwon-myon, Okchon-gun, Chungcho'ngbukdo Province. The two basins were characterized by cultivated area (Kaesim reservoir) and mountain area (Jangchan reservoir), and divided into eleven small basins, where dynamics of pollutants, and the relationship between water quality and land use types were investigated. BOD, SS and TKN became lower and lower from up-stream to down-stream, except for the small basin G where self-purification limit was exceeded. And water quality of Jangchan reservoir basin was worse because of fish nursery. Area below altitude 200m occupied 56% in Kaesim and 44% in Jangchan reservoir basins. Especially total phosphorous (Y/sub T-P/=0.2023X+0.0991, r=0.54) and total nitrogen increased in small basins where the proportion of cultivated and residential area was higher. The analysis of influences of pollutant discharge on water quality showed that pollution charge was very high in cultivated areas. The concentrations of pollutants were attenuated flowing into watersheds through physical, chemical, biochemical, and biological processes. The pollution level of mountain area was lower than that of cultivated areas.
C-phycocyanin-doxorubicin conjugate for synergistic chemo-photodynamic tumor therapy

C-Phycocyanin (CPC), a natural blue-colored pigment, is attracting attention due to its unique photodynamic activity, anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties. The aim of this study is to synthesize and evaluate a C-phycocyanin-doxorubicin (CPD) conjugate as a synergistic chemo-photodynamic tumor therapeutic agent. The CPD conjugate was successfully synthesized and formed self-assembled nanospheres in aqueous solution. After 635 nm laser irradiation, reactive oxygen species (ROS) in CT26 cells by CPC treatment was generated effectively. In addition, the production of ROS in CT26 cells by CPD treatment after the laser irradiation increased effectively enough to kill tumor cells. All these results indicate that CPD could become an attractive agent for chemo-photodynamic tumor therapy.
고속도로에서의 자율주행 알고리즘 개발 및 평가를 위한 다차량 시뮬레이션 환경 개발

Since real road experiments have many restrictions, a multi-vehicle traffic simulator can be an effective tool to develop and evaluate fully automated driving systems. This paper presents multi-vehicle environment simulation tool to develop and evaluate motorway automated driving systems. The proposed simulation tool consists of following two main parts: surrounding vehicle model and environment sensor model. The surrounding vehicle model is designed to quickly generate rational complex traffic situations of motorway. The environment sensor model depicts uncertainty of environment sensor. As a result, various traffic situations with uncertainty of environment sensor can be proposed by the multi-vehicle environment simulation tool. An application to automated driving system has been conducted. A lane changing algorithm is evaluated by performance indexes from the multi-vehicle environment simulation tool.

Iatrogenic vertebral artery injury (VAI) caused by surgical interventions involving the cervical spine is an uncommon but catastrophic complication associated with high morbidity or mortality due to ischemic stroke, intra- or extra-dural hemorrhage, and the formation of pseudoaneurysm or arteriovenous fistulae. In cervical spine surgeries, VAI may occur during the peri- or postoperative period. This may be induced by an anterior or posterior surgical approach. Despite advanced imaging techniques and increased anatomical knowledge, VAI during cervical spinal surgery remains a challenge. Techniques for managing VAI include hemostatic tamponade, ligation, microvascular repair or anastomosis, and endovascular management. We need to consider the risk of iatrogenic VAI as a complication in patients undergoing cervical spine surgeries and a better understanding of its mechanism and proper management.

본 연구는 수정란 이식에 의해 생산된 울릉칡소의 모색분포의 조사를 통해 울릉칡소의 모색 고정에 필요한 기초자료로 활용하고자 실시하였다. 1. 울릉칡소의 모색 분포는 황모 24.3%(67/276두), 흑모 13.0%(36/276두)와 호반모 62.7%(173/276두)의 분포를 보였으며, 입식우의 호반모 출현율이 66%(105/159두)로 관내이식에 의해 생산된 칡소의 호반모 비율 58.1%(68/117두)보다 다소 높은 경향이었다. 2. 성별에 따른 모색의 분포를 조사한 결과, 수컷의 경우 황모의 비율이18.1%(25/138두)로 암컷의 31.4%(43/137두)에 비해 출현율이 낮은 반면, 호반모의 비율은 68.1%(94/138두)로 암컷의56.9%(78/137두)에 비해 다소 높게 나타났다. 3. 비경의 흑반점의 강약에 따른 호반모의 발현 양상을 분석한 결과, 비경의흑반점이 강할수록 호반모의 흑모 발현율이 높은 것으로 사료된다.
