Bias is the main problem that should be considered in epidemiologic research. Information bias caused by measurement error and confounding caused by total energy intake are listed as the main biases in nutritional epidemiology and the concept, fact and the methods for adjusting effects of these biases are discussed. The biases which can be caused during the nutritional epidemiologic research process are listed and discussed. The pros and cons of the continuous data categorical data of the nutrients and the ways how to categorize the data are reviewed. During the analysis of food and nutrient data, multiple comparison and publication bias are prone to be encountered, and these should be considered in interpretation of the results. Understanding of the biases will lead us to make valuable nutritional epidemiologic research and these lead the application of the research results to control the prevalent noncommunicable diseases.

The post processor for parallel-typed CNC machine was developed from C.L data.

This study was carried out to assess of knowledge(K). attitude(A) and practice(P) on general health risk factors in small and medium scale industry workers in Kimpo area. We used self-administered questionnaire regarding the physical exercise, smoking, drinking, intake of fatty diet, mental stress, diet habit, hypertension management, hepatitis, sleep, personal hygiene. The results obtained were as follows : 1. There were significant differences among age groups in attitude and practice but not significant in knowledge, and above 40 years old age group took the higest scores in KAP. 2. There were significant differences between male and female subjects on total mean scores of KAP. 3. There were not significant differences among groups in size of enterprise and work duration. 4. The white collar workers had high scores than blue collar workers but there were no significant differences on attitude and practice. 5. When stepwise multiple regression analysis was done, work status and sex were significantly attributed to knowledge, age and sex were attributed to attitude, and sex was attributed to practice, but the coefficient of determination were very low. In conclusion in small and medium scale industry workers, there were weak or no effects of age, sex, size of enterprise, work duration and work status on knowledge, attitude and practice regarding general health risk. So it suggested that the health promotion program including health education had to be carried out on all members of workers not on specific group.

이러한 모든 보건교육에 의한 노력들에 의하여 우리가 제시한 모든 제안들이 한번에 이루어져서 모든 근로자들이 생활습관을 바꾸어 모두 생기에 차고, 비만한 사람이 없어지고, 금연하고, 술은 적당히 마시고, 식습관이 개선되며, 스트레스가 없는 그러한 생활을 하리라고 기대하는 것은 매우 위험한 일이다. 현실적인 많은 상황들이 이러한 노력들에 대한 저해요인으로 작용하고 있다. 이에 더하여 수많은 새로운 화학물질들이 우리 생활에 도입되고 있으며 우리의 생태환경이 자연적인 물질로 부터 인공합성된 물질들로 대체되고 있고 이들에 의한 건강장해는 앞으로 한 두세대후에야 나타나게 된다. 이러한 모든 건강에 장해를 줄 수 있는 스트레스 유발요인들(stresssors)에도 불구하고 우리들은 근로자들이 더 향상된 생활을 할 수 있도록 의학적으로 뒷받침하여야 한다. 선택은 근로자들의 손에 달려 있으나 여러가지 선택의 가능성들에 대한 지식이 없이는 근로자들이 더 풍요롭고, 생산적이며 보상을 받는 생활의 영위는 불가능하게 될 것이기 때문이다.

여성근로자들의 직업성 암에 대하여는 거의 조사된 바 없었으며, 명백한 원인이 있는 경우 예를들면 radium dial painters 등과 같은 경우에 조사된 적이 있었다. 이외에도 다른 종류의 발암물질에 여성근로자들이 폭로되었을 것이 명백하나, 직업성 역학연구가 이루어져 왔던 관행때문에 여성근로자들은 연구집단의 대상에서 번번이 제외되었다. 최근 뉴욕주 Buffalo에 있는 Roswell Park Memorial Institute(Dccoufle 등, 1977)에서 백인들을 대상으로 직업성 암의 관련인자를 밝히기 위한 사례-비교군연구(retrospective study)가 시행되었다. 1956-1965년의 기간중에 암으로 진단받은 환자들의 직업력을 특정형태의 암과 연관하여 분석하였으며 비종양성 질환으로 진단된 환자들을 대조군으로 하여 이들의 직업력과 비교하였다. 이 연구에서는 연구집단의 역학적 제한성(병원기록을 기초로 했다는 점과 산제되어 있는 지역으로 부터 온 환자들을 대상으로 했다는 점) 으로 인해 암과 직업과의 연관성에 대한 일반적인 해석만이 가능하였다. 그러나 여성 근로자들에 대한 자료가 그간 너무나 없었기 때문에 이 연구는 비교집단이 대부분 사무직에 종사하는 여성근로자들로 구성되었다는 점에서 몇가지 정보를 제공해 주었다.

A Fuel Cell Generation System with a New Active Clamp Sepic-Flyback Converter

A high efficiency active clamp sepic-flyback converter is presented for fuel cell generation systems. The proposed converter is a superposition of a sepic converter mode and flyback converter mode. The output voltages of the sepic converter mode and flyback converter mode can be regulated by the same PWM technique with constant frequency. By merging the sepic and flyback topologies, they can share the transformer, power MOSFET and active clamp circuit. The result has outstanding advantages over conventional active clamp DC-DC converters: high efficiency, high power density, and component utilization. Simulation results and experimental results are presented to verify the principles of operation for the proposed converter.
