      • Reserpine 投與로 일어나는 腦및 心筋 Catecholamine 含量의 變動에 미치는 Iproniazid와 Pyrogallol의 影響

        It is well known that catecholamines are usually metabolized by monoamine oxidase (MAO) and catechol-o-methyltransferase (COMT). It was postulated that iproniazid is MAO inhibitor and pyrogallol is a COMT inhibitor. Reserpine release the catecholamine from sympathetic innervated organ in small dose and deplete it in large dose. In this paper, the influence of iproniazid and pyrogallol on the reserpine induced catecholamine liberation in brain and myocardium of rabbits were studied. The results were obtained as follows; 1. Catecholamine contents in brain and myocardium were increased by iproniazid injection and decreased by pyrogallol. 2. The decreased catecholamine contents induced by reserpine in brain and myocardium were significantly by iproniazid pretreatment and tended to increase by pyrogallol pretreatment. These findings were suggested that MAO is a major enzyme for the catecholamine metabolism in brain and myocardium.

      • 摘出 家兎 S-A node의 週期變動에 대한 Cholera enterotoxin의 效果

        Many studies have accumulated that the involvement of cyclic adenosine 3':5'-monophosphate (cyclic AMP) as a mediator of the action of cholera enterotoxin was clearly established. Schafer reported that crude toxin promotes the elevation of tissue cyclic AMP levels in dug intestinal mucosa concomitant with the onset of its action. The author, therefore, attempted to investigate the effect of cholera enterotoxin on the cyclic AMP system and on the pacemaker rate in the S-A node. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. Cholera enterotoxin produced a time and dose-dependent increase in pacemaker rate and in cyclic AMP levels. 2. Cholera enterotoxin caused increase in adenylate cyclase activity and in the sensitivity of cyclic AMP levels to norepinephrine. 3. Cholera enterotoxin had a linear relation between pacemaker rate and cyclic AMP contents. 4. Norepinephrine also had a linear relation between pacemaker rate and cyclic AMP contents. But the angle of norepinephrine-line was steeper than the angle of cholera enterotoxin-line.

      • Morphine의 鎭痛效果 및 物質代謝에 미치는 Pentazocine의 影響

        In order to study the influence of pentazocine on the effects of morphine, analgesic effects were investigated utilizing the hot plate reaction time test in mice and metabolic effects were investigated measuring the changes of blood sugar content, serum transaminase (S-GOT, S-GPT) activities and alkaline phosphatase activities in rabbits. The animals were treated with pentazocine at 10 minutes after morphine injection. The results were obtained as follows; 1. Analgesic effect of morphine was antagonized by pentazocine. 2. Pentazocine significantly increased the blood sugar content, serum transaminase activities and alkaline phosphatase activity as well as morphine. 3. The increased blood sugar content, serum transaminase activity and alkaline phosphatase activity of rabbits induced by morphine tended to be potentiated by pentazocine.

      • Progesterone前處置가 Chloroform毒性에 미치는 影響

        In this experiment, the toxicity of chloroform of the mouse and the effect of chloroform on the serum GOT and GPT activities, blood sugar level and total cholesterol content of the rabbits pretreated with progesterone for 7 days were investigated. The results obtained were as follows; 1. The LDSO of chloroform to mice pretreated with progesterone was decreased .The increased serum ,GOT, GPT activities induced by chloroform were more increased by the pretreatment of progesterone. 3. The increased blood sugar level induced by chloroform were more increased by the pretreatment of progesterone. 4. The increased serum total cholesterol content induced by chloroform was not affected by the pretreatment of progesterone but was decreased 'by the pretreatment of vegetable oil.

      • 알콜投與家兎의 血中알콜濃度, 血糖量 및 血淸 Transaminase 活性度에 미치는 人蔘水溶 액기스의 效果

        In this paper, the influence of Panax ginseng on the alcohol metabolism and metabolic effects of alcohol were studied. Through the experiments, the alcohol concentration in blood, blood sugar levels and serum °ansaminase (GOT, GPT) activities in rabbits were measured. In experimental group, rabbits were pretreated with water extract of Panax ginseng 10 minutes, prior to alcohol administration. The results were obtained as follows; 1) The increased blood alcohol concentration after alcohol administration were inhibited by the pretreatment of ginseng extract. 2) The elevated blood sugar levels induced by alcohol administration were reduced by the pretreatment of ginseng extract. But the blood sugar levels which were not changed by alcohol administration for 2 weeks, were not influenced by the pretreatment of ginseng extract. 3) The increased S-GOT activities induced by alcohol administration were inhibited by the pretreatment of ginseng extract. But the S-GPT activities which were not changed by alcohol administration, were not influenced by the pretreatment of ginseng extract.

      • 활성 Sulfur의 항경련 및 항당뇨증효과에 대한 실험적 연구

        The anticonvulsant effect of active sulfur(A.S.: Kum-Eck tan in Chinese medicine) on the cardiazol and picrotoxin convulsion and the synergistic effect of A.S. on the morphine analgesia to mice were observed. The effect of A.S. on the toxicity (LD5o) of alloxan and carbon tetrachloride(CC14) to mice, and the blood sugar level and the serum transaminase(GOT and GPT) activity in rabbits induced by these agents were investigated. The results obtained were as follows; 1. The average time required for onset of cardiazol convulsion on mice was signific antly prolonged by pretreatment of A.S. but picrotoxin convulsion was not affected. 2. The analgesic effect of morphine to mice pretreated with A.S. was remarkably increased. 3. The LD50 of alloxan to mice pretreated with A.S. was increased. 4. The hyperglycemic effect of alloxan to rabbits pretreated with A.S. was decreased and the hypoglycemic effect of CCI4 was inhibited by A.S. pretreatment. 5. The increased serum GOT, GPT activity produced by alloxan and CC14 were decreased by the pretreatment of A.S..

      • Testosterone 및 Estrogen 투여(投與)가 자궁수축약(子宮收縮藥)의 적출자궁(摘出子宮) 수축성(收縮性)에 미치는 영향(影響)과 자궁근내(子宮筋內) Cholinesterase 활성도(活性度) 및 전해질(電解質)에 미치는 효과(効果)

        It is well known that the uterine contractility is affected by sexual hormone. In this experiment, the authors attempted to study the influences of testosterone and estrogen or the uterine contractility to oxytocics. The contractile sensitivity of the excised uterine muscle of non-castrated and castrated rabbits with testosterone and estrogen 24 hours before experiment is observed respectively. And the cholinesterase activity and electrolytes (Na, K, Ca and Mg) in the uterine muscle are measured in order to study the relationship with contractile sensitivity and those changes. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. The contractile effect of spareng on the excised uterine muscle of non-castrated rabbits pretreated with estrogen was markedly increased in small dose, but that of rabbits pretreated with testosterone was significantly increased in large dose, comparing with that of the control group. In castrated rabbits, the contractile sensitivity of the uterine muscle to spareng was significantly increased by pretreatment with estrogen in large dose but it was markedly decreased by pretreatment with testosterone in small dose. 2. The contractile effect of quinine on the excised uterine muscle of non-castrated rabbits pretreated with estrogen was significantly decreased but that of castrated rabbits pretreated with both estrogen and testosterone were markedly increased comparing with that of the control group. 3. The cholinesterase activity in the uterine muscle of non-castrated rabbits was significantly increased by pretreatment with small dose of estrogen or large dose of testosterone, but that of castrated rabbits was markedly decreased by pretreatment with large dose of estrogen. 4. Na and K contents in the uterine muscle of non-castrated rabbits were markedly increased by pretreatment with both estrogen and testosterone, but that of castrated rabbits was significantly increased by pretreatment with small dose of estrogen. 5. Ca content in uterine muscle of non-castrated rabbits was significantly decreased by pretreatment with both large dose of estrogen and testosterone but increased by pretreatment of testosterone. In castrated rabbits, Ca content was significantly decreased by pretreatment with both estrogen and testosterone. 6. Mg content in the uterine muscle of non-castrated rabbits was markedly increased by pretreatment with estrogen and small dose of testosterone, but that of castrated rabbits was significantly decreased by pretreatment with both large dose of estrogen and testosterone.
