This paper deals with the decision of 7 primitive motions of the arm by EMG pattern recognition using IMB PC. The EMG signals are detected from silver/silver Chloride surface electrodes, and IBM PC calculates the likelyhood probability and the decision function on the feature space of integral absolute value. Multiclass decision rule and learning algorithm are introduced for high decision rate. All procedures are programmed in assembly language for the real time implementation and the co-processor 8087(numeric data processor) is used for the exponential function and the probability calculation. On our experimental results from the experted simulator, the decision rate of more than 90 percent can be obtained.

Persistent organochlorine pesticides has been used intensively in agriculture for a long time. The occurrence of organochlorine pesticides in the environment and subsequently in parts of the food chains, results in the intake of these compounds by human and animal. The measurement of the levels of organochlorine pesticides in tissues or blood of human populations is a good marker in evaluating the extent of exposure and hazards. So, most countries have conducted initial monitoring programs to determine organochlorine pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls in human tissues. But, in Korea, a few research has been reported. In this study the legally prohibited organochlorines, such as, α-BHC, β-BHC, γ-BHC, δ-BHC, p,p'-DDT p,p'-DDD, p,p'-ODE, endrin, dieldrin and aldrin were determined in human blood, brain, adipose tissue, kidney cortex and liver tissues collected at autopsy of 10 men and 10 women, 16-65 years of age. Almost all the organochlorine pesticides mentioned previously were determined in human tissue samples indicated that they have been widely distributed in Korean human body: No significant difference was found in the levels of organochlorine pesticides between sexes, districts and ages.

This study was done to analysis of normal finding factors and abnormal finding factors of defecography by using fluoroscopy. The defecographic results were screened for the anorectal angle and perineal descent at rest, squeezing and during straing. Changes of rectal configuration and rectal canal width during straining were reviewed. Rectocele, rectal intussusception, and incontinence were observated. Contrast media of this study to make be very similar stool and before examination operators should explain methods of defecography to patient. Normal anorectal angle was measured to be 90˚, 80˚, 130˚ at rest, during squeezing, and straining respectively. In the spastic pelvic floor syndrome, increase of anorectal angle less than 10 degrees from rest to straining was observed. Incontinent patients had a large anorectal angle (mean 128˚)at rest. 7.8cm of perineal descent was found in descending perineal syndrome in comparison to 4.0cm in normal. Normal anal canal width was measured 1.4cm during straining but anal canal width in incontinenct patient was measured 1.2cm at rest. The anorectal angle was valuable in evaluation of spastic pelvic floor syndrome and fecal incontinence. In the cases of the rectoceles, anteroceles, and rectal prolaps, defecography is helpful in preoperative evaluation of rectal wall change and postoperative follow up.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the flexural strengthening performances of the reinforced concrete flexural members strengthened by iFRPP(incombustible Fiber Reinforced Polymer Panel). The bond characteristics of iFRPP on the concrete were estimated to acquire the effective bond length for strengthening of RC members through various bonding tests. Also, full-scale RC beams strengthened by iFRPP were tested monotonically to evaluate the strengthening effects of iFRPP on the RC beams. The main variables of the six test specimens were the thickness of iFRPP and bond length.<br/> From the test results, it was found that the failure mode of RC beams strengthened by iFRPP was governed by the fracture of iFRPP, and flexural strengthening effects of iFRPP on the RC beams are proportional to the thickness of iFRPP. Therefore, the bond strength of 5.0kgf/㎠ and the partial reduction factor of 0.9 for the strengthening design of RC beam is proposed in this study.

Braced frames have teen widely used in buildings due to their large lateral stiffness and strength This study investigated the seismic behaviors of cold-formed Hollow structural section(HSS) bracing members For this purpose, experimental tests were earned out using quasi static reversed cycle loading For selecting the loading share for the experimental tests, a three story special concentrically braced frame was designed according to AlSC LRFD Manual(2001), Then nonlinear lime history analysis was conducted using earthquake ground motions. This analytical study observed that the drifts of brace members ill compression and tension were almost identical The symmetric behavior ill tension and compression can be attributed to the strong beams designed for SCBF that should resist the unbalanced axial loads induced by connected bracing members Thus, symmetric loading shape was adopted Particularly, this study investigated the effect of a width-thickness ratio(u√t ratio) on seismic behavior of HSS bracing members This study shows that IISS bracing members with a small wit ratio could not guarantee the larger amount of energy dissipation compared to those having a larger wit ratio The bracing members having a small wit ratio experienced fracture at the slotted end connection in the early stage of the test.<br/>
