To study material properties of liquids, the laser light scattering experimental system has been set and calibrated. Ar ion laser of 2 Watt output as light source, grating spectrometer and Ortec photon counting electronics are the basic components of the system. The measurements of the Rayleigh spectrum of CCl_4 has been completed, and obtained data have been found to be in good agreement with the other reported data. Special design of the scattering cell to reduce the elastic wall scattering improved significantly the useful low frequency data range of the spectrum. Instead of the exponential decrease of the intensity distribution of the spectrum, a sleight deviation in the low frequency range has been observed.
