The reflection and transmission effects due to change of wave condition and size of a rectangular submerged breakwater installed in the sea bottom of constant water depth were theoretically estimated by potential connection method and investigated through two dimentional hydraulic model test. By this study the following conculusions were obtained. 1) The reflection coefficients (K??) estimated by experiment for some wave stiffness (H/L=0.033, 0.008) agreed with theoretical values in all parts except nodal point among theoretical values. 2) The transmission coefficients (K??) examined by experiment in the case of small wave stiffness (H/L=0.008), when the ratio of width of a submerged breakwater vs. water depth is 1.5, agreed with theoretical values.
