With widespread penetration of the broadband Internet, multimedia streaming service is getting popular among users. In the multimedia streaming system, the video server may be far away from users. So, the streaming service has contributed to a significant amount of Internet traffic. Thus the quality of the streaming service is limited by the network bandwidth on the path to the client. To solve this problem, many studies have used the concept of the proxy server. Due to the characteristics of the multimedia data, it is required the sophisticated caching strategy in the proxy server. This paper proposes a new proxy caching strategy for the multimedia streaming service. In proposed strategy, the proxy server caches the portion of the streaming data and the prefix. This strategy reduces the startup delay of the service as well as the network congestion.
No-Clicking Event in the Quantum Key Distribution

We discuss the `no-clicking' event, which is harmful for legitimate users in Bennett-Brassard 1984 quantum key distribution: We describe an attack where no-clicking events are utilized in the same way as double-clicking events are utilized in the quantum Trojan-pony attack. We discuss how to deal with the no-clicking events. We discuss how to estimate the security of the protocol against the proposed attack by using a formula involved with the fraction of adversarial removals of events.
Instructional Scaffolding for Intuitive Explanation of "Why Does a Spinning Top Not Collapse?"

``Why does not a spinning top collapse?" is a puzzling question. Standard solution using angular momentum and torque is not intuitive enough. Thus intuitive explanations for the question have been proposed. We provide scaffolding for an intuitive explanation for the question. Accelerated point-masses in the top exert forces on the frame, which balances the effect due to gravity. The explanation is supplemented by the two following points. A more rigorous conceptual framework of the explanation is provided. A full calculation of trajectory is given. Nutation of spinning top is a difficult issue to understand physically. However, the nutation can also be understood by the intuitive explanation. We discuss another intuitive explanation.
How to Device-independently Generate States for Which Unambiguous State Discrimination is Impossible

We describe how to device-independently generate a set of quantum states for which unambiguous state discrimination is not possible. First, we derive a formula that a certain non-signaling black box must satisfy. Then, we describe how to generate a set of quantum states. Devices for generating states and possible measurements on the states can be put into a black box. Because this black box is non-signaling, it satisfies the formula. Using the formula, we prove that unambiguous state discrimination is not possible for the generated states. Because we did not consider internal mechanisms but only outcomes, our argument is valid for any (imperfect) devices.
