일본잎갈나무(Larix leptolepis)오 포플러(Populus euamerieana I-476)에 대(對)하여 각(各) 함수율(含水率)을 각단면별(各斷面別) 전건법(全乾法)에 의(依)한 측정치(測定値)와 Electric Moisture Meter(Kett-M8A) 측정치(測定値)와 계산추정치간(計算推定値間)이 상관성(相關性)과 그 신뢰성(信賴性)을 조사(調査)하여 본바 일본잎갈나무재(材)에 있어서는 전건측정치(全乾測定値), Moisture Meter측정치(測定値), 계산추정식간(計算推定値間)에 모든 방향(方向)에 1~5% 수준(水準)의 높은 상관성(相關性)을 보였으나 포플러재(材)에 있어서는 전건측정치(全乾測定値)와 Moisture meter측정치간(測定値間)에 상관성(相關性)은 인정(認定)되나 여지(餘地)에서는 유의의(有意義)한 상관성(相關性)을 인정(認定)할 수 없었다. Al alloys are useful materials having high specific strength and are used in machining of parts having thin-walled structures for weight reduction in aircraft, automobiles, and portable devices. In machining of thin-walled structures, it is difficult to maintain dimensional accuracy because machining deformation occurs because of cutting forces and heat in the cutting zone. Thus, cutting conditions and methods need to be investigated and cutting signals need to be analyzed to diagnose and minimize machining deformation and thereby enhance machining quality. In this study, an investigation on cutting conditions to minimize machining deformation and an analysis on characteristics of cutting signals when machining deformation occurs are conducted. Cutting signals for the process are acquired by using an accelerometer and acoustic emission (AE) sensor. Signal characteristics according to the cutting conditions and the relation between machining deformation and cutting signals are analyzed.

The Inconel 718 alloy is a well-known super-heat-resistant alloy and a difficult-to-cut material. Inconel 718 with excellent corrosion and heat resistance is used in harsh environments. However, the heat generated is not released owing to excellent physical properties, making processes (e.g., adhesion and thermal fatigue) difficult. Tool condition monitoring in machining is significant in reducing manufacturing costs. The cutting tool is easily broken and worn because of the material properties of Inconel 718. Therefore, tool management is required to improve tool life and machinability. This study proposes a method of predicting the tool wear with non-contacting sensors (e.g., IR thermometer for measuring the cutting temperature and a microphone for measuring the sound pressure level in machining). The cutting temperature and sound pressure fluctuation according to the tool condition and cutting force are analyzed using experimental data. This experiment verifies the effectiveness of the non-contact measurement signals in tool condition monitoring.

Background/Aims: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common upper gastrointestinal disorder in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). However, little is known about the prevalence of GERD in dialysis patients. The aim of the present study was to investigate the difference in the prevalence of GERD in peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis patients. Methods: From July 2010 to August 2011, peritoneal dialysis patients (n=30) and hemodialysis patients (n=38) were enrolled. The prevalences of GERD were assessed at a single center with endoscopic findings and interviews using a questionnaire. Also, risk factors of GERD were evaluated. Results: The prevalences of GERD in peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis patients were 33.3% and 39.5% (p=0.748), respectively. The prevalences of erosive reflux esophagitis (ERD) in peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis patients were 16.7% and 23.7% (p=0.477), respectively. The prevalences of nonerosive reflux disease (NERD) in peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis patients were 16.7% and 13.2% (p=0.685), respectively. The prevalences of GERD, ERD and NERD were higher than those of the general population. The risk factor for GERD was age in hemodialysis patients. Conclusions: The prevalence of GERD in dialysis patients was higher than that in the general population. However, there was no significant difference between peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis patients. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2013;62:206-212)
