In this paper, the heat resistance reliability of an axial smoke exhaust fan was investigated. An axial smoke exhaust fan should be capable of operating at 250 ℃ for 2 hours. The failure of an axial smoke exhaust fan occurred in the motor due to high temperature. Therefore, the heat resistance reliability of an axial smoke exhaust fan was evaluated by the heat resistance reliability test of a motor. A B10 life with a 90% confidence level of the installed motor was estimated to be about 48 minute. The main failure mechanisms of the motor were melting of bond and insulating paper and burning of insulating materials in the coil. The heat resistance reliability of the motor was improved by changing the way to unite the core and the coil and by replacing the insulating paper and the insulating materials of the coil. A B10 life with a 90% confidence level of a modified motor was estimated to be over 120 minute.

In this study, the numerical study carried out to analyze the leakage in a steam turbine labyrinth seal. Low pressure side and high pressure side angles of teeth were modified to verify the influence on the leakage. It was found that the angle of low pressure side does not affect on the leakage but the variation of high pressure side angle have significant effect on the leakage. The leakage through the labyrinth seal with -5° high pressure side angle were decreased by 5.4% compared to that of original labyrinth seal.

In this study, the validity study has been carried out to apply the combustion burner in an electric arc furnace. The validity of applying the combustion burner has been studied in the aspect of the operation through the calculation of heat balance. The average decrease rate of power on time is 11.2%. When the maintainability is compared to the door lance manipulator type, the multi-functional combustion burner is simple to replace and repair. The location of burner can be adopted according to the drawings which are recommended in this study. As a result, the validity of applying the combustion burner to improve an efficiency of electric arc furnace has been confirmed.

The stability of coal pulverizer in the 800 MW coal-fired plants is vital to maintain their performance. Thus, this study analyzed the uneven abrasion of the deflector and coal spillage due to the air velocity maldistribution in the vane wheel of a bowl-type pulverizer as it is a possible cause for problems of facility using pulverized coal. In addition, air flow in the underbowl of a bowl-type pulverizer was studied to check air velocity maldistribution in the vane wheel using numerical method. In an attempt to correct the maldistribution of air velocity, air flow of the modified duct vane was studied as enlarging the length of the duct vanes installed at the air inlet duct of the pulverizer and increasing the angle of inclination. It was found that modified duct vane make the velocity distribution at the vane wheel uniform. formed by the duct vanes installed at the air inlet duct of the pulverizer and swirling flow is the major factor in making the velocity distribution of vane wheel exit uniform. This can prevent the uneven abrasion of the deflector, which is one of the components inside the pulverizer and coal spillage.

This study presents an operational technique to maximize the profit of a cogeneration power plant under cost-based pool power market. In benefit side energy sale profit, heat sale profit, and supplementary fund profit for electric power industry are included and the changeable cost was considered in cost side. The profit of a cogeneration power plant is varied enormously by the operation conditions, and constraint conditions. The result of this case study can be used as a reference to a cogeneration power plant under the same power trading system.
피치각 조정형 송풍-역풍 겸용 축류팬에서 배연용 피치각 선정을 위한 실험적 연구

In this study, the experimental study has carried out to select pitch angle on the backward flow in an axial fan that has adjustable pitch blades. With the change of pitch angle of axial fan with adjustable blade, air flow rate, pressure and air flow direction can be changed. Because of this merit, adjustable axial fan can be used in the backward flow. For the selection of the backward flow pitch angle, fan performance test method is selected by KS B 6311. Dynamic pressure, static pressure, electric current and voltage are measured in each pitch angles of axial fan that are $36^{\circ}$, $-16^{\circ}$, $-21^{\circ}$, $-26^{\circ}$, $-31^{\circ}$ and $-36^{\circ}$. In the result of test, fan performance curves at several pitch angle has been investigated. Finally, pitch angle of $-26^{\circ}$ has been selected to get largest flow rate at backward flow situation.

The public-private cooperation in package deal has been studied for the overseas energy resources acquisition. The effectiveness of the package deal has not been successful because the deal has led by the government organizations. It is difficult for the plant EPC companies to join the packaged deal due to the lack of the whole responsibility organization to support the participation of the package deal. The followings are suggested as the ways to strengthen of the public-private cooperation in this study. 1) the relevant public enterprise privatization 2) establishment of the joint model for leading the plant EPC companies to the package deal 3) establishment of the whole responsibility organization for the public-private cooperation.

From 2000, the world plant market, especially plant developing business related to oil and gas, has been increasing. Domestic construction companies advance to overseas plant construction market actively, and proportioning to this, an importance of utility construction is increasing. However, the project becomes large and high-tech, and many companies experience difficulty of project management due to relatively high risk of overseas construction. In this study, we built the standard process with which domestic company can evaluate the risk of overseas plant utility construction. Primary factors for risk evaluation is derived, classification system is made out, primary factor is analyzed, and counter plan is suggested. And thorough management of risk is performed by risk management organization that manages the risks, risk control methods, reports and monitors through risk sheet and risk action log from the start of project to the end.

While the local plant market is reducing its volume, the plant market over the world since 2000s is rapidly expanding. The nation's construction companies, aggressively dedicated in launching out overseas plant market, increase the volume of orders in that sector, but there also are much difficulty in the project management as those projects ordered are gradually large scaled with more cutting-edge high-tech requirements along with comparatively higher risk. Though the local construction companies have developed their own types of measures to analyze the risk evaluation putting into practice, the specialized decision-making model for the overseas plant market or the risk measure understandable easily and applicable practically is not yet shown. This paper aims at providing the methodology to evaluate the risk by way of constructing the risk evaluation process in order to induce risk measuring elements through appropriate indexing system. Furthermore, through studying the risk management system, it aims to seek for a thorough risk management method from beginning of the project to the end.
