Effect of hemoglobin on the growth and Cd accumulation of pea plants (Pisum sativum L.)

This study was set to investigate the effect of the presence of hemoglobin (Hb) in cadmium (Cd)-contaminated soil on phytotoxicity and Cd accumulation. The effect of Hb on the Cd accumulation by Pisum sativum L. (pea) and seed germination and growth was studied using pot tests with the artificially Cd-contaminated soil. The results show that the externally applied Hb to Cd-contaminated soil samples did not promote Cd accumulation by P. sativum. However, the Fe accumulation was greater in the presence of Hb. The seed germination was not affected, but the adverse effects on the plant growth increased with increasing Hb/Cd molar ratio from 0 to 0.015. This can be attributed to toxic effects of the Fe added with the Hb application. The results suggest that the presence of Hb may have harmful effects on pea plants used in phytoremediation of Cd-contaminated soil due to toxic effects imposed by Fe.

Three dimensional numerical simulations of frontally bounded river plums were carried out using the computer program proved to be available in the author's earlier study to predict the flow in the cross flow field. Some characteristics of spreading behaviours of river plumes were presented and computational results for a variety of cross flow velocities were briefly discussed.

To investigate the structure of internal flow hydrodynamically, the complete vertical equation of motion should be assembled into the model. In the present study a numerical simulation model not hydrodynamically approximated is established. From the comparison of the predicted results with the computed results from k-ε two equation turbulence model by Huh et al.(1991) and the experimental data by Nakatsuji(1984), the vertical acceleration and its effects on the development of buoyant surface jets are evaluated quantitatively.

This study is on the impact of dancing injuries to the students majoring in Ballet to the stage anxiety. Supposing that the injuries have an effect on the anxiety, how much degree of the injuries could influence the stage anxiety, setting up the injuries as independent factor, the stage anxiety as a dependent one and personality, recognized dancing ability and frequency of participation as supporting ones.I conducted a questionnaire survey of 338 students majoring in ballet from Freshmen to Seniors in arbitrarily chosen co-ed universities which located in Seoul, Gyeonggido, Chungcheongnamdo. The final available ones from 338 were 286 except for 52 absentees. It used purposive sampling.With the recurrent analysis using the survey data I came to conclusion as follows.1. There are no signigicant differences between the dance injuries and sex, age, perceived dance ability.2. The duration of dance participation has a positive influence on the extent of the dance injuries.3. The stage anxiety is affected by the frequency of the injuries, but not by whether or not you were injured during dancing.4. There are no signigicant differences between the stage anxiety and sex, age, perceived dance ability.5. There are no signigicant differences between the stage anxiety and dance participation.
