This paper examines the Japanese postposition corresponding to the Korean {-(eu)ro}, based on some composition mistakes made by Japanese-learning Koreans. With the students' assignment limited to newspaper articles, the paper cannot be regarded as encompassing the whole usage of the postposition. However, it provides some insight into the most common mistakes that Japanese-learning Koreans make in their compositions. The interference of a mother tongue functions not only to the advantage, but also to the disadvantage, of foreign language learners. The fact that the Korean language has the same word order as the Japanese language makes it easy for Koreans to approach Japanese. To learn postpositions at the beginners' level also makes them feel in the same way. Such a similarity, however, leads to an idea, "The more you learn Japanese, the more difficult it becomes." The postpostitions {-e}, {-eseo}, and {-(eu)ro} in particular, even through they have their Japanese counterparts, are frequently found to be misused even by the longtime learners of Japanese, since both languages have some differences as well as some similarities. Therefore, more attention should be paid to the differences, along with the consideration of context, in translating Korean into Japanese.

A questionnaire was conducted in Jeonbuk area, targeting 25 Japanese language teachers and 256 high school students learning Japanese. In order to understand the actual condition of the Kana education, the results generated from the questionnaire were placed in a numerical order, comparing and analyzing the results from the research between teachers and students. As the generation is changing, the learning age is gradually getting younger. Accordingly, the outdated teaching method of writing letters on the blackboard has shown a need for change. In order to achieve an effective learning, substantial guidance methods should be constantly developed, as well as more interesting learning materials and different teaching methods should be used.
