신임소방공무원들의 직무스트레스, 우울 및 자살생각간의 관련성에 대한 연구 : 우울의 매개효과를 중심으로

본 연구는 근무기간 3년 이하의 신임소방공무원 1,331명을 대상으로 직무스트레스와 우울, 자살생각과의 관계에서 우울의 매개효과가 있는지 알아보는 것이다. 연구 분석을 위해 한국인 직무스트레스 측정도구(KOSS), 한글판 우울증 선별도구(PHQ-9), 자살행동척도(SBQ-R)를 사용하였다. 먼저 신임소방공무원의 정신건강 실태를 조사하였으며,직무스트레스와 우울, 그리고 자살생각과의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석을 실시하고, 직무스트레스가 자살생각에 미치는 영향에서 우울의 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 3단계의 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 신임소방공무원의 직무스트레스가 우울, 자살생각과 정적상관을 가지며, 우울은 자살생각과 정적상관을 보였다. 우울의 매개변인효과를 고려했을 경우, 우울은 신임소방공무원의 직무스트레스와 자살생각을 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 소방공무원의 자살예방 및 대책 수립에 있어 신입 초기부터 직무스트레스와 우울을 관리하는 것이 치료개입 시기로 보았을 때 보다 효율적이며, 예방적 차원에서도 효과적일 수 있음을 제시하였다. This study investigated the mediating effect of depression on the correlation of job stress, depression, and suicidalideation among 1,331 new fire officials who have worked below three years. For analysis, the Korean Occupational StressScale, Patient Health Questionnaire-9, and Suicidal Behaviors Questionnaire-Revised were used. First, we examined themental health status of new fire officials and analyzed the correlation between job stress, depression, and suicidal ideation. The data were analyzed using the multiple regression analysis method to verify the mediating effect of depression on thecorrelation between job stress and suicidal ideation. The study found that job stress of new fire officials was positivelycorrelated with depression and suicidal ideation. Depression has a positive correlation with suicidal ideation. When themediating effect of depression was considered, depression was a partial mediator variable between job stress and suicidalideation. These results suggest that more efficient and timely treatment in a preventive way will help new fire officialsreduce job stress and depression. Moreover, it will be more effective to establish a counterplan for suicide prevention forfire officials.

본 연구는 신임소방공무원을 위한 정신건강교육 프로그램을 개발하고 효과성을 검증하고자 하였다. 프로그램은예비연구, 요구분석, 프로그램 모형 구안, 내용선별의 절차를 거쳐 개발되었다. 신규 임용 직원 50명을 대상으로 3일간 총 7회기로 구성하여 진행하였고, 프로그램 전과 후 참가자의 스트레스, 불안, 자기효능감을 비교분석하였다. 그리고 프로그램 종료 6개월 후 참가자 6명을 대상으로 인터뷰를 진행하여 경험적인 효과성을 조사하였다. 연구결과,프로그램 참가자들의 스트레스와 불안은 유의미하게 낮아지고, 자기효능감이 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 추후 인터뷰결과에서는 이완훈련을 가장 많이 활용하고 있으며, 같이 프로그램에 참여했던 동기들과의 심리적 지지가 업무 부담에서 오는 스트레스를 줄여주는 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 신임소방공무원들의 특성을 반영하고 실제참여자의 요구와 전문가의 요구분석을 통해 과학적이고 체계적인 프로그램을 개발하였다는데 의의가 있다. The aim of this study was to develop a Mental Health Education Program for new fire officials and to verify itseffectiveness. The program was developed through a pilot study, needs analysis, model design, and content selection. It wasconducted over three days with a total of seven sessions, with fifty new fire officials participating in the program. Stress,anxiety, and self-efficacy levels among new fire officials were examined before and after the program. The results indicatedthat stress and anxiety were meaningfully reduced after completing the program, and self-efficacy was improved. Interviewsconducted with participants after program completion reported that relaxation training was usually used and thepsychological support of colleagues who also attended the program had the effect of reducing job-related stress. This studymakes a meaningful contribution through developing a program that reflects the characteristics of new fire officials. Theprogram was developed using a scientific and systematic method through needs analysis.
