The purpose of this study was to provide sociological materials by analyzing the influence of the sporting newspaper on the value of the youth as one of mass media flooded in contemporary society. For this purpose, this study attempted to analyze the relationship between the frequency of adolescents`s exposure to the sporting newspaper(sports page, broadcasting and entertainment page), degree of interest in it and view of sports value(economic, sociable, entertaining, aesthetic, personal and physical value view). Male and female students attending the high school located in Seoul were selected as the subject of this study. The measuring instrument used in this study was the questionnaire. It was the one relating to the view of sports value made by modifying and complementing the items used through the testing of validity in many studies conducted by Ko Jang-ho(1984) and many others as the items relating to the reading of the sporting newspaper and the items relating to the value view of Evarett(1962) to suit this study by Data from the questionnaire research were analyzed using SPSS v.10.0 for Windows. Correlation analysis, T-test and stepwise regression analysis were conducted. As a result, the following findings were obtained. First, it was found that the group of preference for the sports page had the higher value view of sports than that of preference for the broadcasting·entertainment page. That is, the group of preference for the sports page showed the higher sociable, entertaining, aesthetic and personal value view of sports than that of preference for the broadcasting·entertainment page. Second, it was found that for the group of preference for the sports page, the frequency of exposure to and the degree of interest in the sports page in the sporting newspaper had an effect on their value view of sports. That is, it was found that the group of preference for the sports page showed the higher sociable, entertaining, aesthetic and personal value view of sports as they had the higher frequency of exposure to it and that they had the economic value view of sports as they had the higher degree of interest in the sports page. Third, it was found that for the group of preference for the broadcasting·entertainment page in the sports newspaper the frequency of exposure and the level of interest had an effect on the value view of sports. That is, it was found that the group of preference for broadcasting·entertainment page in the sporting newspaper had the higher economic, sociable, entertaining and physical value view of sports as they had the higher level of interest in the sports page. And it was found that they had the higher aesthetic and personal value view of sports as they had the higher frequency of exposure.
