The Typical Meteorological Year(TMY) is the fundamental input data for routine building energy simulations. Therefore, TMY is necessary to be periodically revised to represent recent weather conditions of any region. This study was conducted to develop a software engine to easily generate TMY of any area in Korea from the measured weather data by the Korean Meteorological Office.

When a new literary thought is introduced to a country, the role intermediate is of much great. In the early age of symbolism in korea, the indermediates, especially kim uk, Hwang Suk-Woo and Chu Yo-Han, contributed much to the introduction of symbolism. They played an active part in the era of the colonialization of korea by Japan, when the social conditions were not good for receiving the western literary thought, under these circumstances, they tired to introduce the poetics and to write their works in korean. Expecially, Hwang Suk-Woo emphasized the spirit of independence in his writing, and published poems of symbolic style. This article aims to examine his consciousness as a intermediate through his poetic theory and works.
Aberrant DNA Methylation of CDH1, p16 and DAPK in Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Background: Hypermethylation of tumor suppressor gene has been reported in various types of leukemia with potential involvement in the inactivation of regulatory cell cycle and apoptosis genes. Methods: To evaluate the methylation status at initial diagnosis and morphologic complete remission (CR) period in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), we analyzed the methylation status of three key genes (CDH1, p16 and DAPK) in 43 childhood ALL patients and 7 healthy bone marrow (BM) donors. Results: CDH1 was methylated in 26 (60.4%) patients, p16 in two (4.6%) patients and DAPK in six (13.9%) patients at the time of diagnosis. Twenty nine (67.4%) patients had methylation of at least one gene. None of the healthy BM donors showed methylation of the above genes. Age was the only factor which showed significant association with the presence of DNA methylation (P=0.03). None of the other clinicopathological factors showed association with initial methylation status. At the time of morphologic CR, all patients who had aberrant DNA methylation at the time of diagnosis had no detectable residual methylation. Conclusion: Since hypermethylation was found in around two thirds of pretreatment ALL patients and none in healthy BM donor, we suggest hypermethylation of some important genes is a biologic marker of childhood ALL. We recommend that further studies with a large number of patients should be conducted.
소아의 미만성 신질환에서 자동생검총을 이용한 초음파 유도하 경피적 신생검의 유용성과 합병증: 97예의 분석

To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy and complications of ultrasound-guided percutaneous renal biopsy using automatic biopsy gun in patients with pediatric diffuse renal disease. MATERIALS and METHODS : Using an 18G automatic biopsy gun, biopsies were performed on 97 pediatric patients with clinically suspicious diffuse renal disease. The acquired tissue specimens were analyzed by photomicroscopy, immunofluorescence, and electron microscopy to support the diagnosis. In the 97 biopsies, the success of the histologic diagnosis, number of glomeruli, and complication rates were retrospectively evaluated by analyzing the variable exams and clinical records. RESULTS : Adequate tissue for histologic diagnosis was obtained in 91 of 97 biopsies (94%) and the mean number of glomeruli was 9.6. Complications such as minute pain, gross hematuria, and small perirenal hematoma presented in 22 of the 97 biopsies (23%), all of which either improved within 5-72 hours or did not need specific treatment. CONCLUSION : Ultrasound-guided percutaneous renal biopsy using 18G automatic biopsy gun is an effective and safe method for the histologic diagnosis of pediatric diffuse renal disease without any major complication. 목적 : 소아의 미만성 신질환의 진단에서 자동생검총을 이용한 초음파 유도하 경피적 신생검의 유용성과 합병증의 발생빈도에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 임상적으로 미만성 신질환이 의심되는 97명의 소아환자에서 초음파 유도하에 18G 바늘을 장착한 자동생검총으로 97예의 경피적 신생검을 시행하였고 얻어진 조직절편은 광학현미경, 면역형광법 그리고 전자현미경 검사로 진단하였다. 각종 검사와 임상기록들을 후향적으로 분석하여 병리학적 진단 가능 여부, 채취된 사구체 개수, 그리고 합병증의 발생빈도를 알아보았다. 결과 : 97예 중 91예(94%)에서 병리검사에 충분한 조직을 얻어 진단이 가능하였고 평균 사구체 개수는 9.6개였다. 22(23%)예에서 신생검 후 경미한 통증, 육안적 혈뇨, 소량의 신장주위 혈종이 있었으나 모두 5-72시간 이내에 호전되거나 별다른 처치를 필요로 하지 않았다. 결론 : 소아에서 초음파 유도하에 자동생검총을 이용한 경피적 신장 생검은 각종 신장 질환의 병리학적 진단을 가능하게 하는 동시에 처치를 필요로 하는 중한 합병증이 없어 환자들에게 유용하고 안전한 검사법으로 생각된다.
