와이어프레임 형태의 등가면의 생성과 조작을 위한 O(n) 알고리즘

등가면과 같이 복잡한 3차원 물체를 연구하기 위하여는 회전, 확대, 이동 등의 조작이 대회식의 사용자 인터페이스와 실시간에 가까운 속도록 이루어져야 할 필요가 있다. 따라서 와이어프레임 형태의 등가면을 연구하기 위하여는 등가면의 빠른 생성도 중요하고 동시에 조작을 빨리 할 수 있어야 한다. 와이어프레임 형태의 등가면은 2차원의 등가선을 생성하는 알고리즘을 반복해서 사용하므로, 효율적인 2차원 등가선 알고리즘을 찾아야 한다. 이 글에서는 기존의 세가지 알고리즘을 분석하였고, 등가선의 생성과 조작에 모두 효율적인 알고리즘을 개발하여 소개한다. 그 새로운 알고리즘은 등가선 생성에 O(n)의 계산량을 소모하면서도, 생성된 등가면을 화면상에서 조작할 때에 벡터처리 (Vectorization)가 가능하여 그 조작 성능이 좋다.

Virtual reality (VR) simulators have been extended to transfer knowledge and education, and demands for exhibition systems for science education and cultural experiences has also increased. Existing VR simulators, which are based on the dynamics equations of motion, cannot easily be adapted to changes in simulation contents. In order to effectively transfer knowledge and maintain interests through educational applications, an experiential system that has multi-sensory effects as well as motion effects is required. In this study, we designed and implemented a motion generation that is tailored to experiential exhibition systems and multi-sensory VR effects. Both the sense of motion which is generated from the movement of the viewpoint of the visual image, and motion effects which are constructed in advance, are applied to motion simulation. Motion effects which occur during interaction between the user and the exhibition system can be easily added. Various sensory cues that are appropriate to the exhibition system are also considered.

Several non-manifold data structures have been compared, which are radial-edge data structure, partial-face data structure, vertex-based data structure, and Yamaguchi's data structrue. All the entities in the data structures are classified into common entities and special entities. The entities are also classified as model entities, primitive entities bounding entities, and coupling entities. The four data structures for nonmanifold solid modelers are compared in terms of accessing efficiency, storage requirements, and inclusion of circulation. The results of comparison will serve as the basis to develope a nonmanifold modeler.
SEDRIS를 이용한 디지털 생산 시뮬레이션과 합성 환경 매핑

The goal of a distributed simulation such as battle field simulation is to combine all kinds of simulations in the same synthetic environment and to make people interact at the same time. It is a key issue to share the same synthetic environment among simulations. To support reusability and affordability in the modeling and simulation area, DMSO(Defense Modeling and Simulation Office) of USA developed concepts such as HLA(High Level Architecture) and SEDRIS (Synthetic Environmental Data Representation and Interchange Specification). In the industrial simulation area, the digital manufacturing is the main stream. To reduce cost and to reuse simulation environment, the standardization becomes the focus of digital manufacturing. This study proposes to use SEDRIS to improve interoperability of manufacturing data. The simulation data of DELMIA, which is a leading commercial digital manufacturing solution, is mapped and translated into the SEDRIS transmittal format. Mapping of the manufacturing simulation data and the synthetic environment are implemented and verified through experiments.
