Effect of replacement feed ingredients of Micropterus salmoides in exotic species

Background: Largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) is introduced species that has caused aquatic ecology activity both in vitro and in vivo were investigated for the possibility of application of the bass extract as an alternative feed ingredient. Methods: The bass oil was extracted using a 1-L supercritical extractor, while the protein was extracted from 250 g of bass dry matter, which was dissolved in 1 mL of H2O at 50℃. Both oil and protein extracts were evaluated antioxidant activities and the level of DPPH radical scavenging assay and nitric oxide (NO) production assay with lipopolysaccharide response. Oral administration of 6.6 μL/g bass protein and 5.38 μL/g bass oil conducted for investigating serological and physiological effect. Results: DPPH radical scavenging showed similar radical scavenging ability of 50 μM of ascorbic acid at 200 μg of protein and 10% of oil treatment. NO concentration was diminished by the treatment of bass oil. Oral administration of both bass oil and proteins to mice showed that the body weight increase rate of the bass oil treated group was significantly reduced by 1.55 g compared to the other groups. The number of white blood cells (WBC) was increased by 4.52 k/μL in the bass protein-treated group and 4.44 k/μL in the bass oil-treated group compared to the control group. However, the serum IgG level did not show a significant difference between the bass extract-treated groups and the control group. Conclusions: These studies demonstrate that both bass oil and proteins extracted from the bass not only provide excellent effects of antioxidant and immune activity but can also be used as functional food supplements.
ABAQUS를 이용한 휨벽체의 비선형 유한요소 해석기법

The finite element method(FEM) models were developed for the reinforced concrete flexural walls and analysed under constant axial and monotonic lateral load using ABAQUS. The major objective of the present study is to determine if the ABAQUS finite element program can be used to accurately model the post-cracked mode of failure in plastic regions of walls, and, if so, to develop practical failure criteria in the plastic range of the material response. The research comprises constitutive models to represent behavior of the materials that compose a wall on the basis of experimental data, development of techniques that are appropriate for analysis of reinforced concrete structures, verification, and calibration of the global model for reinforced concrete walls of increasing complexity. The proposed FEA technique is verified by Lefas's benchmark data. Results from the analyses of these FEM models offers significant insight into the flexural behavior of benchmark data.

This paper discusses a nonlinear finite element analysis(FEA) model of the strength of hybrid coupled shear wall connections with panel shear failure using ABAQUS. A detailed finite element models are created to study the monotonic load response of the designed embedded steel coupling beams in wall. The developed models account for the effect of material inelasticity, concrete cracking, and geometric nonlinearity. Results from the analysis of these FEM models offers significant insight into the flexural behavior of benchmark data.

This paper discusses that the reduction of wall strength and stiffness has been investigated by a nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) using ABAQUS that reinforced concrete shear wall artificially-introduced opening for remodeling. The FEA models account for the effects of material inelasticity, concrete cracking, geometric nonlinearity and bond-slip of steel and concrete. In order to verify the proposed FEA model, a parametric study has been carried out using parameters that the vertical and horizontal percentage and position of reinforced concrete shear wall opening. The analytical results were validated through comparisons with the experimental results and the theory that ACI 318-05 and AIJ. The analysis showed good agreement between the experimental results and the theory.

The role of fibers in fiber reinforced cement based composites was studied by means of finite clement method. A finite element study of compression, direct tension, and four point bending specimens made in high performance fiber reinforced cement composites(HPFRCCs) is studied using the finite element code ABAQUS. The major objective of the present study is to determine if the ABAQUS finite element program can used to accurately model the post-cracked mode of failure in plastic regions of HPFRCCs, and, if so, to develop practical failure criteria in the plastic range of the material response. The research comprises constitutive models to represent behavior of the cementitious composites on the basis of experimental data, development of techniques that are appropriate for analysis of HPFRCCs members, verification, and calibration of the global model for HPFRCCs of increasing complexity. The proposed FEA technique is verified by experimental benchmark data. Results from the analyses of these FEM models offers significant insight into the structural behavior of benchmark data.
