        Background : Trunk stabilization exercises activate the stabilizing muscles of the trunk and essential for the correct function of the lumbo-pelvis. The bridge exercise increases the activity of the trunk stabilizing muscle, and is also used for the treatment of these muscles. Various studies related to sling exercise have been conducted, although none of them examined its effects on the muscle activity of trunk stabilizing muscles when the bridge exercise was performed by applying the sling neurac method. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate which support surface the trunk and hamstring muscles high activity during bridge exercise using sling neurac method. Methods Seven teen healthy subjects, and the surface electromyography was attached to transverse abdominis, multifidi, and the dominant side hamstring muscles. Then, the maximum voluntary isometric contraction was measured. The bridge exercise was performed on either the floor, on a foam roller, and sling surface by randomly. A one-way repeated measures ANOVA was performed to determine the difference in muscle activity between the surfaces. Results : There was a significant difference in the activity of all muscles according to the difference in the supporting surface (p < 0.05). In the transverse abdominis, the sling surface showed significantly higher than the other support surfaces (p < 0.001). Conclusions : In this study, the more unstable the support surface, the highly muscle activity in all muscles. Especially, in the sling neurac method, a significant increase in the transverse abdominis muscle activity was observed compared to the other surfaces. These results suggest that exercise on a support surface applying the sling neurac method can simultaneously induce the contraction of the trunk stabilization muscles and hamstrings. Therefore, the bridge exercise using the sling neurac method proposed in this study is an effective way to strengthen the hamstring muscles while maintaining the stability of the trunk.

        Background: Aging causes muscle weakness, reduced balance, and reduced walking speed. Falls are common in the elderly, and they experience falls mainly due to a lack of balance control. In particular, elderly women experience more falls than elderly men. After experiencing a fall, the ability to movement, strength, and balance decreases, which increases the risk of falling. Torso stabilization exercises increase muscle strength and balance and are recommended for fall prevention. Objectives: A total of 12 weeks of trunk stabilization exercise was conducted for elderly women. Every 4 weeks, the subjects dynamic balance ability, static balance ability and walking ability were evaluated. Through this, the effect of trunk stabilization exercise on each variable was investigated. In addition, we tried to determine whether several weeks of training produced changes in balance and gait ability. Methods: Three tests (functional reach test, timed up and go test, 10-meter walk test) will be administered to elderly women subjects (n = 15). Initial measurements were taken before exercise on the first day, and evaluations were performed after exercise at the 4th, 8th, and 12th weeks. A total of 12 weeks of torso stabilization exercise program has been planned, and training will be conducted once a week (1 hour). The data were analyzed by the one-way repeated measure ANOVA. Results: As the exercise progressed, the static balance, dynamic balance and walking ability significantly increased compared to before exercise. (p < 0.001). Conclusions: A trunk stabilization exercise program of 8 weeks or longer for elderly women will be effective in improving the quality of life of the elderly by reducing the risk of falls. Fall prevention will also reduce the burden on the health care system. Therefore, a trunk stabilization exercise program of 8 weeks or longer for the elderly female is recommended as an exercise to prevent falls and improve quality of life.

        위등세모근 통증유발점이 있는 목 통증 환자의 압력 통각 역치 및 근활성도에 대한 뉴렉 기법의 즉각적인 효과

        Background Neck pain is a prevalent condition affecting 45-54% of the population, with chronic symp-toms experienced by 14% of individuals, leading to significant productivity reduction and healthcare costs. Therapeutic exercise, particularly active interventions, has shown efficacy in reducing chronic neck pain. The Neurac (Neuromuscular Activation) technique aims to enhance active movement and create pain-free movement. Objectives To investigate the immediate effects of Neurac technique on pressure pain threshold (PPT), resting muscle activity measured through surface electromyography (sEMG), and pain level assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) in individuals with chronic neck pain. Methods Fifteen adult participants with chronic neck pain were recruited from a university in Busan, South Korea. Neurac technique, involving four specific neck, and shoulder exercises using a Redcord Trainer, PPT, resting muscle activity, and pain level (VAS) were evaluated before and after the Neurac technique intervention. Results Following the Neurac technique, participants demonstrated a significant increase in PPT (p < 0.001) and a significant decrease in pain level measured by VAS scores (p < 0.001), indicating reduced pain. However, no significant changes were observed in resting muscle activity during the rest period (p = 0.616). Conclusions This study found that the Neurac treatment program effectively reduced pain and in-creased pressure pain threshold in individuals with neck pain associated with trigger points in the upper trapezius muscle, although no significant changes in muscle activity at rest were observed.

        물리치료사의 직무유형이 직무만족도와 조직몰입도에 미치는 영향 : 부산지역을 중심으로

        Purpose : The purpose of this survey was to investigate the effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment according to the job types of Pusan area physical therapists figuring out structural causality between job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Method : This survey was conducted through structured questionnaire for the physical therapists working in Pusan area, and data from 217 therapists were utilized in the final analysis. Data collection was deployment questionnaire using Google Docs (online survey), The SPSS 21.0 program was used according to for research purposes independent t-test was used for individual and job characteristics, was used according to job types and job satisfaction and organizational commitment are logistic regression analysis, correlation analysis and chi-square test. Result : The results of this study were as follows. 1. Overall job satisfaction according to the job types was appeared musculoskeletal physical therapist more 4 times. 2. Job types according to the organizational commitment did not make direct effect. Conclusion : Number of musculoskeletal physical therapist than neurological physical therapist was fewer and there were many per day treatment of patients, but overall job satisfaction was appeared that is higher. This is thought that job types affects more than working environment.
