시설파프리카에서 양봉꿀벌은 온도, 조도 그리고 자외선량이 증가하고 습도가 감소하는 오전 11:00부터 15:00, 서양뒤영벌은 오전 09:00에서 11:00에 방화활동수가 가장 많았다. 방화시간은 양봉꿀벌과 서양뒤영벌 방사구가 각각 5.8초와 6.9초로 같은 수준이었으며, 착과율은 각각 94%수준으로 관행구(환풍기사용) 92%보다 2% 높았다. 생산물조사에서 양봉꿀벌과 서양뒤영벌 방사구가 관행구보다 과실의 무게, 길이, 당도, 종자수에서 보다 좋은 성적을 보였다. 따라서 경제성분석(재배기간 10개월/2,310 $m^2$)에서 양봉꿀벌과 서양뒤영벌 방사구가 관행구(팬가동)에 비하여 $7,700{\sim}8,520$천원(10% 이상)의 이익을 가져옴으로서 화분매개곤충을 방사한 효과가 뚜렷하게 나타났다. This study was surveyed the effects by pollinating activity of Apis mellifera and Bombus terrestris released in the paprika vinyl-houses. The foraging activity and behaviour of A. mellifera and B. terrestris visited on the paprika flowers were nearly alike. The pick times of pollinating activity by A. mellifera and B. terrestris were showed the hightest at 11:00 and 15:00, and 09:00 to 11:00, respectively. The rate of fruit set by A. mellifera and B. terrestris released for pollinating paprika were same level with 94%, and these rate were higher than the fruit setting rate which was 92% by fan operated. The qualities of paprika produced by pollinators released were higher than those by fan operated. And weight per fruit, number of seeds per fruit and economical profit per 2,310 $m^2$ were over 10% higher than those by fan operated. Therefore the economical effects by the pollinating activities of A. mellifera and B. terrestris released in the paprika vinyl-houses were obviously demonstrated.

This study was examined the pollinating characteristics and the producing effects by pollinating activity of Apis mellifera and Bombus terrestris in the strawberry vinyl-houses. The foraging activity and behaviour of A. mellifera and B. terrestris on the strawberry flowers were very similar. The rate of mal-formed fruit pollinated by A. mellifera and B. terrestris were same level with 8~6%, and the qualities of strawberry products were almost same. Therefore it was estimated that the economical fruit production could be maintained by the foraging activities of A. mellifera and B. terrestris against non-pollination. For the economical product of strawberry, we should achieved the detailed study on the correlation of utility factors between strawberry (No. of flowers) and pollinators (No. of foraging bees).

In cherry-tomato(Lycopersicum esculentum L. cv. Kkokko) house, the foraging activity and longevity on hives of Korean native bumblebee, Bombus ignitus and European bumblebee, Bombus terrestris were studied during 2001~2002. The pollinating effect, the weight of a fruits producted by foraging activities of B. ignitus and B. terrestris in cherry-tomato house were not different. The hive longevity of B. ignitus in cherry-tomato house was surveyed 60% level of B. terrestris.

This paper was studied for the effective using method a hive of B. terrestris at the major cherry-tomato cultivation areas. The number of foraging workers by the side wall net attached at the house were more higher than the that of no netting house. The period of foraging activity, the sustainable period over 80% of bite-mark rate, and the life span of B. terrestris hive were more longer than those of no netting house. On the condition of air velocity and temperature in house, the side wall net attached with 5㎜ graduation of net at the house side and no netting house were equally good. Also the pollinating effects of foraging workers as the rate of marketable fruit, product amount per 10a, and income per 10a by the side wall net attached at the house side were more higher than those of no netting house.

This study seeks to develop the Bee-Pollen Agar (BPA) medium by drone powder and to optimize its content for entomopathogenic fungi growth including chalk brood fungi. On varying quantitative tests of drone powder in BPA medium, the mycelial growth of Ascosphaera apis var. apis (KACC 41774, 41775) and A. apis var. major (KACC 41610, 41778) was better on BPA medium with 10% drone powder than PDA medium. Also the BPA medium would prove to be an excellent medium for the isolation of these fungi because they have radial growth lines on it. The entomopathogenic fungi have been used as biological control on the harmful insects of forests and fruits. Their growths were better on BPA medium with 5% drone powder than PDA medium. The mycelial growth of Cordyceps mushrooms such as Cordyceps scarabaeicola, which have been widely used as traditional herbal medicine throughout East Asia, was better on BPA medium with 2.5% or 5.0% of drone powder than PDA medium. Therefore it is expected that PDA medium will be substituted by BPA medium for the growth or isolation of entomopathogenic fungi. These results give useful results for future attempts to optimize a medium.
시설수박의 이른 봄철 재배에서 뒤영벌과 양봉꿀벌의 화분매개활동 특성

This study was examined the characteristics on the pollinating activities of Bombus ignitus, B. terrestris and Apis mellifera as pollinators on the watermelon flowers, and compared them with the effect of the pollination by pollinators and the artificial pollination in the watermelon vinyl-houses in Changwon City on early spring season in 2005. Three species of pollinator cannot use for early spring season, because the watermelon vinyl-houses during the cultivating period should be controled with high temperature and humidity which were bad environment for pollinator’s foraging activities. So, we could not expected to act the pollinators released for pollination of watermelon’s flowers on early spring season.

In order to examine colony development and formation by two kinds of foundation queen collected in field, Bombus ignitus and Bombus ardens ardens were reared in indoor rearing room, after they were collected from late March to early May on Younghweung Island in Incheon City and Suwon City in Kyungki Province in Korea. The results obtained are as follows; Bombus ignitus is better than Bombus ardens ardens according to the rate of egg-laid, rate of first worker emergence, more than 50 heads of worker emergence, rate of new queen emergence, longevity of foundation queens, and size of colonies over 150 heads of worker.
