북한의 군사전략 변화 전망 (대전지구전투 교훈을 중심으로)

The North Korean Army evaluates the combat in Daejon area as a liberational operation of the area that is a typical type of a modern besiegement warfare, and as a model of seizing and exterminating operation that envelopes and exterminates the enemy perfectly. When we analyze the development of major operation of the combat in Daejon, we can recognize the fact that the military strategy of the North Korean army and the method of carrying out a combat were applied successfully. The operational tactics that are suggested by the North Korean army tactics were fully applied like as; interdiction tactics to retreat route through detouring of a regiment; harassment rear area using small units and plain-clothes corps; continuous striking operation through a cooperative attack by infantry. However, the reason why we should recover the combat which applied the North``s military strategy and the concept of carrying out a war successfully after 60 years have passed is; the north regime has a probability of using that kind of former tactics under the conditions like as the changed military-geographic environment by urbanization and industrialization after the Korean-War; continuous provocations by NK; changed weapon system of the North Korea. So, analyzing the lesson of the Daejon operation in the eye of military affair, and recognizing the military strategic value will be necessary. After that, prospecting the new NK``s strategy and the method of carrying out a war will be followed to prepare for the probable provocations by the North Korean army. Then we can make a turning point to transform the past failure to victory in the fin the future war by construction of military readiness.
