Measurement of urinary total LDH activity and its isoenzyme fractionation has been suggested to be a useful means of diagnosis and follow-up the course of urinary tract diseases. The normal value of Korean healthy adults has not been established, so authors have studied the normal range of urinary total LDH activity and its isoenzymes in Korean healthy adults. The results are as follows. 1) The total urinary LDH activity in 114 cases is 21.4+2.8 (S.E.) U/L. 2) In 114 cases, only 38 cases (30%) could be fractionated. The average percentage of each LDH isoenzymes are that LDH-1; 33.2+6.7%, LDH-2; 27.4+5.6%, LDH-3; 17.3+3.0%, LDH-4; 11.0+4.3%, LDH-5; 11.1+9.0%, respectively. There is no differences between male and female about each fraction. (p>0.05) 3) Storage of the samples, the results decrease as time passes and show significant differences at room temprature. (p<0.05) The result within 24 hrs is 24.7+16.3 U/L, that after 24 hrs is 16.3+9.2 U/L, that after 48 hrs is 15.6+7.6 U/L. 4) The results make no differences though the concentration procedure applied. (p>0.05)

Authors have compaired te results of HBsAg, Anti-HBsAb that were examined by RIA (radioimmunoassay), EIA (enzyme immunoassay) and RPHA (reverse passive hamagglutimation) methods. The results are summarized as follows. 1) In HBsAg test, RPHA method disclosed 95.3% sensitivity and 100% specificity. 2) In HBsAg tests, EIA method disclosed 94.7% sensitivity and 100% specificity. 3) In Anti-HBsAb tests, PHA method disclosed 57.3% sensitivity and 96.7% specificity. 4) In AntiHBsAb tests, EIA method disclosed 90.7% sensitivity and 100% specificity.

Total 494 specimens obtained from uterine cervix were cultured at the Han Yang University Hospital from July, 1983 to July, 1985. Laboratory data were analyzed from the point of view of polymicrobial infection and the following results were obtained. 1. 309 specimens (60.5%) of the total 494 specimens reveals positive cultures. 80(25.9%) of them had multiple isolates from a single specimen (Polymicrobial infection) and 229 (74.1%) had single isolates (Single microbial infection). 2. The distribution of organisms in polymicrobial infection were gram-negative Bacilli 47.7%, gram-positive cocci 46.4%, candida 5.3%, and anaerobes 0.7%. 3. The frequently isolated oraanisms in polymicrobial infection were E.coli (29.8%), coagulase (-) staphylococcus (21.9%), Enterococcus (16.6%), Kelbsiella (10.6%), and candida (5.3%). 4. The combination of organism in polymicrobial infection were Gram positive cocci & Gram negative bacilli (48.7%), both Gram negative bacilli (20.0%), both Gram positive cocci (16.3%), candida & bacteria (13.7%) and anaerobes & GRam positive bacilli (1.3%).
