        Based on the COD fractionation results, the process simulation and diagnosis were carried out in order to derive optimal operation conditions for three wastewater treatment plants. Simulation results showed that COD, nitrogen, and phosphorus removal efficiencies could be improved by simple modification of the operation methods. The effluent water quality of the plant A, operated with two stage anaerobic-aerobic reactor process, was predicted to be improved by split injection of the influent wastewater to the primary and secondary anaerobictank. The plant B was operated with conventional activated sludge process and characterized as quite low organic content in the influent wastewater. Nevertheless, higher nutrient removal efficiency could be achieved without any change of the COD removal efficiency if the plant B would be retrofitted to MLE or A2O process.Through the process simulation, it could be predicted that the split injection of the influent wastewater to the anaerobic and anoxic tank or adjustment of hydraulic retention time of each tank could increase nutrient removal efficiency in the plant C operated with A2O process.

        인공습지 기본형상에서 전산유체역학을 이용한 사류구간 및 입자제거율 평가

        Hydraulic dead-zone and particle removal efficiency in the base frame of a constructed wetland was evaluated with computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The fraction of hydraulic dead-zone was estimated to be 1.2-2.1 % (v/v) and it was attributed to the artificial islands developed in the constructed wetland. Solids deposition rate could be increased with higher hydraulic retention time (HRT, ranged from 2.2 to 4.2 hr) of the wetland and larger particle size (ranged from 10 to 50 ㎛) in the influent. Experimental results showed that the volume concentration of the particles smaller than 10 ㎛ in diameter was varied from 1.99×103 ㎛3/ml (HRT 12.8 hr) to 3.92×103㎛3/ml (HRT 2.2 hr) in the influent of the constructed wetland. With the effluent volume concentration data, removal efficiency of those particles was calculated to be 71.2 and 24.7 % when the HRT was 12.8 and 2.2 hr, respectively. Similar trend with the HRT variation could be identified with CFD analysis.

      • 토양미생물을 이용한 하수의 질소제거효율 향상

        The effect of humus soil on biological denitrification was investigated through NUR batch tests. Specific denitrification rate of HMLE(Modified Ludzack Ettinger process combined with Humus soil contactor) and CMLE(Control Modified Ludzack Ettinger process) sludges as well as COD consumed for denitrification could be estimated from the batch tests. Two linear phases of denitrification rate could be observed when acetate was used as a carbon source. However, denitrification behavior was composed of three linear phases when a primary settled municipal wastewater(PW) was used as a carbon source. The specific denitrification rates on SBCOD(slowly biodegradable COD) fraction in raw wastewater were estimated 4.82 and 3.73 mg N/g VSS·hr when HMLE and CMLE sludge was used as a seed sludge. It means that the hydrolysis rate of HMLE sludge on SBCOD fraction was higher than that of CMLE sludge. Actinomycetes, one of the soil microorganisms, was estimated 150,000 actinomycetes/ml in the biomass of HMLE process, which was 10 times higher than that of CMLE process. Actinomycetes was well known for its distinguished hydrolyzing ability on particulate organic matter. Almost of input COD was utilized for denitrification and cell synthesis when HMLE sludge was used as a seed sludge in NUR batch test. While, about 70% of input COD was comsumed when CBNR sludge was used. It means that substrate utilization rate, especially SBCOD utilization rate, of HMLE sludge was higher than that of CMLE sludge.

        Social Contributions of the Catholic Church and Regional Solidarity: Analysis of the Korean-Japanese Conferences of Catholic Bishops

        This study focuses on the history of regional solidarity among Catholic churches in East Asia as civil society organizations within the axiological frame of peace and social order. This paper endeavors to show the significant role of the Korean-Japanese Catholic bishops conferences, which have developed over 20 years, not only in contributing to civil and social solidarity but also to congeniality between the Korean and Japanese people. The cooperative activities of the Korean and Japanese bishops, which have their origins in efforts to deal with the historical issues between Korea and Japan, are considered purposeful undertakings in support of peace and order in the East Asia region. With the passage of time, the solidarity of the bishops has developed toward solving diverse regional social dislocation issues. The thrust of the bishops’ unified action can be seen in two aspects. The first is the bishops’ view that society, to become peaceful and mature, requires structural changes, and thus the cooperative efforts of the Korean and Japanese bishops have a socio-political orientation. The second aspect is its role as social charity, that is, volunteer work on behalf of the impoverished and social minorities. When regional peace and cooperation are threatened by the self-interests of nation-states, the case of regional cooperation by a religious organization demonstrates how civil society is able to contribute to the progress and peace of a given region beyond the efforts of national governments.

        게임몰입감과 제품관여도의 상호작용효과: 게임 캐릭터가 광고효과에 미치는 영향

        Brand can communicate with the consumers within the game contexts. Increased population of gamers in the world has attracted marketer’s attention on advertising within game context. Although there have been several research on effectiveness of game as an advertising tool, researchers have rarely investigated the combined effects of game, consumers, and products on the effectiveness of advertising in game. The purpose of this study is to investigate how game engagement, game character, and product involvement interactively influence consumers’ response to advertising in game. We have used Heuristic-systematic model and Elaboration likelihood model as theoretical framework to see how independent variables of this study influence the dependent variables. The results of this study revealed that the presence of game character has positive effect on the affective attitude toward brand when consumers are highly engaged with the game. Further, this study found that under the low product involvement condition, higher game engagement lead to more purchase intention than under the high product involvement condition. Both theoretical and practical implications are discussed in this study. 최근 몇 년간 게임산업의 급속한 성장과 더불어, 온라인게임은 몰입적인 경험을 제공하는 가운데 브랜드와 소비자를 이어주는 새로운 광고매체로서 부각되고 있다. 게임 내 광고효과에 영향을 주는 요인들에 관한 연구가 증가추세에 있지만, 게임광고효과에 있어서 가장 핵심요소로 볼 수 있는 게임, 소비자, 제품요인들을 통합적으로 고려하여 그 영향관계를 조사한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구는 게임몰입도, 게임캐릭터의 유무, 제품관여도와 같은 변인들이 게임 내 광고의 설득효과에 미치는 영향을 검증함을 목적으로 한다. 설득에 대한 이중경로모델을 이용하여 게임 내 광고효과에 있어서 게임몰입도, 게임캐릭터, 제품관여도에 관한 가설을 설정하고 통합적으로 어떤 역할을 하는지 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 직관적-체계적모델 에서 주장한 대로 게임에 깊이 몰입하여 브랜드에 대한 인지력이 떨어지는 상황에서 게임캐릭터는 브랜드에 대한 감정적 태도를 형성하는데 있어서 휴리스틱 단서로서의 역할을 증명하였다. 또한, 본 연구는 게임몰입도가 높은 상황에서 단순한 주변단서만으로 휴리스틱 정보처리가 가능한 저관여 제품이 고관여 제품보다 더 높은 설득효과를 얻음을 보여주었다. 본 연구는 이론적 시사점 뿐만 아니라 게임 및 광고기획자들에게 더 효과적인 게임 내 광고전략을 위한 시사점을 제공한다.
