뱀장어 아가미 울혈증에 관한 연구 III. NaCl처리가 울혈증 치료에 미치는 영향

This experiment was carried out in order to elucidate the effect of NaCl(0.85%) acclimation on congestion symptoms in central venous sinuses(CVS) of gill filaments and on the alteration of blood constituents in cultured eels for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7days after handling stress. After giving a handling stress on eels, the frequency of gill congestion was about 90%. It gradually decreased to 40% on the 3rd day, then increased to 60% on the 7th day in NaCl(0.85%) acclimation. The values of haematocrit(Ht), methemoglobin(Met-Hb), glucose (GLU), calcium($Ca^{++}$), lactic dehydrogenase(LDH), glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) and glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase(GOT) were lower than those of the control, whereas magnesium($Mg^{++}$) and haemoglobin(Hb) were higher than the control. However total protein(Tp) and albumin (ALB) levels similar to the control. When the fish after giving a handling stress were cultured in NaCl-free water as a control, the frequency of gill congestion and the value of blood components showed a similar pattern to that obtained from the NaCl acclimated experiments. However, in the early period(1-3day) after handling stress, NaCl acclimating slightly helped the natural tendancy of recovery. These results suggest that the frequency of gill congestion is not always reduced over the whole period of NaCl acclimation. However, the acclimation to NaCl solution may be a somewhat useful therapy for the gill congestion in stressed eels. 뱀장어에 인위적으로 스트레스를 가하여 아가미 울혈증을 발생시킨 후에 NaCl 처리에 따른 CVS의 울혈증의 치료효과 및 혈액성상의 변화에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 스트레스 직후에 고빈도의 발병율을 보였던 아가미 및 간의 울혈증은 염처리 후 3일째 까지는 감소되었으나, 4일 이후에는 별 영향이 없었다. 혈액성분중 스트레스 후 증가되었던 Ht, Met-Hb, $Ca^{++}$, GOT, GPT, LDH 및 glucose치 등과 감소되었던 $Mg^{++}$ 및 Hb치 등은 염처리 3일까지는 회복율이 촉진되었으나, 그 이후에는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 알부민 및 총단백치는 염처리 기간동안 별 변화가 없었다. 이상의 결과는 스트레스에 의해 발병된 아가미 울혈증에 대한 염처리법은 초기 3일까지는 효과가 있으나, 그 이상의 기간에는 전혀 효과적이지 못함을 보여준다.

The acivity-guided fractionation on the MeOH extract of Bombycis corpus inoculated by Beauberia bassiana 101A led to the isolation of two steroids, 24-ethylcholest-4-ene-3,6-dione (1) and ergosterol peroxide (2), as active principles. Compounds 1 and 2 exhibited cytotoxicity against cultured human tumor cell fines, A-549, SK-OV-3, SK-MEL-2, XF-498 and HCT-15 with ED50 values ranging from 3.42 to 11.37mcg/ml.

Physiological activities of E. compressa were examined after oral and intraperitoneal(i.p.) adminstration in young(8g) Israeli and colored carp. Hematological parameters were evaluated to test physiological respose. Anti-bacterial activity was examined by counting the number of bacterial cells in the kidney, and also by measuring the change of agglutinin titers following A. sobriae infection. There was a tendency of increase in E. compressa-fed groups in total protein, albumin and glucose levels. The most marked increase was noted in the group fed with 5% E. compressa. GPT and GOT levels were reduced with the increase of E. compressa concentration. Feeding of E. compressa did not alter haematocrit(Ht) and hemoglobin (Hb) values. The number of A. sobriae was reduced in all groups intraperitoneally treated with variable concentration of E. compressa-extract. The lowest bacterial cells were found at the group intraperitoneally treated with 30㎍ of E. compressa-extract per g of colored carp(30㎍/g), indicating that the anti-bacterial activity is maximized at this concentration. The agglutinin titers were elevated in E. compressa extract-treated groups(30㎍/g) with the maximum value of 6.0±1.1. These results indicate that E. compressa adminstration activated physiological response, and triggered a cascade for anti-bacterial reaction.

경상남도 고성군 삼산제일 동광산 주변 지역에 방치되어 있는 약 28 만 톤의 광미를 포함한 광산폐기물에 의한 주변 환경의 오염정도를 평가하기 위하여 광미, 폐광석, 주변토양을 대상으로 화학분석(전함량분석, 토양오염공정시험법, 연속추출)을 통하여 유해 미량원소의 함량 및 이동도를 알아보았다. 광미 내 유해 미량원소의 전함량을 배경토양과 비교 했을 때, 부화도가 높은 순서는 Cu(14.0 배)≫As(3.6배)>Co(3.1배)>Zn(2.1배)=Pb(2.1배)>Cd(1.6배) 순이다. 광미 내유해 미량원소의 존재형태(fraction I+fraction II) 를 알아본 결과, 이동이 가능한 존재형태가 많은 순서는 Zn(29.0%) > Cu(12.3%) >Pb(9.6%)>Cd(3.0%)>As=Co(0.0%) 순으로 나타난다. 광미, 폐광석, 주변토양 내 유해 미량원소의 함량및 존재형태를 고려해 볼 때, 주변 환경을 오염시킬 가능성이 있는 유해 미량원소는 구리(Cu)와 아연(Zn)인 것으로 판단된다. 한편, 광미 내 유해 미량원소의 함량을 네덜란드의 기준과 비교한 결과, Cu 를 제외한 나머지 원소가 환경에 미치는 영향은 없을 것으로 추정되었다. In order to examine the extent of environmental contamination at abandoned Samsanjeil Cu mines in Kosungkun, Kyeongsangnam-do, we have investigated the contaminations and mobility of toxic trace elements from mine wastes including about 280,000 tonnages of tailings by chemical experiments (total extraction, partial extraction by 0.1N HCl and sequential extraction procedure). Total concentrations of trace elements showed that Cu, As, Co, Zn, Pb, and Cd concentrations in tailings were 14.0, 3.6, 3.1, 2.1, 2.1 and 1.6 times greater than those in background soil, respectively. From the proportion of metals bound to the exchangeable and carbonate fractions, the comparative mobility of metals decrease in order of Zn(29.0%)>Cu(12.3%)>Pb(9.6%)>Cd(3.0%)>As=Co(0.0%). Based on the concentrations, chemical speciations of tailings, waste rock and nearby soil, it was revealed that Cu and Zn were the most possible elements to contaminate the surrounding environment in Samsanjeil mine area. In addition, the tailings had total trace metal concentrations below Dutch guideline values except Cu, and they might not affect adverse impact on environment.

Ninety-six isolates of Edwardsiella tarda recovered from outbreaks of Edwardsiellosis in cultured eels(Anguilla japonica) in Kunsan, were examined for drug susceptibility, distribution and transferabilities of R plasmid. All of the E. tarda isolates examined were sensitive to gentamicin(GM), streptomycin(SM), norfloxacin(NF), and amikacin(AK). But most isolates were resistant to sulfadimethoxine(SD, 86 strains), ampicillin(AM, 84 strains), penicillin G(PM, 80 strains), nalidixic acid (NA, 67 strains), oxytetracycline(OT, 44 strains), and oxolinic acid(OA, 37 strains). Twenty different combinations of drug resistance patterns were observed : the frequently encountered pattern was SD-AM-PM-NA-OA(16 strains), SD-AM-PM-NA(14 strains), SD-AM-PM-NA-OT-OA(12 strains), SD-AM-PM-OT(10 strains), and SD-AM-PM-NA-OT(8 strains). Transferable R plasmids were found out to be carried in 78 out of 94 resistant strains, indicating that these isolates carry conjugally transferable R plasmids associated with single or multiple drugs. The frequently observed transferarble R plasmids were AM(8 strains), AM-PM-NA(8 strains), Am-SD(6 strains), PM(6 strains), and SD(6 strains) These results suggest that high dose of various antibacterials might have already been introduced to eel culture system leading to the acquirement of multi-drug resistance to wide range of antibacterials.
