First of all, in order to study the effect of lumbar exercise by gym-ball and elastic band on lumbar muscular strength, of patients with chronic lumbago, 8 weeks of gym-ball exercises and elastic band exercises is enforced among thirty female patients from twenty to forty years old who have chronic lumbago. The exercise is performed three times a week and its hour consists of total seventy minutes daily with twenty minutes of warming up, thirty five minutes of main exercises (thirty five minutes for each gym-ball or elastic band exercises), and fifteen minutes of cool-down. Before and after carrying out gym-ball and elastic band exercises, lumbar muscular strength of 0°, 36°,and 72°degrees is measured. 1. As a result of measuring lumbar muscular strength 0°, 36° before and after carrying out the exercise program, lumbar muscular strength of the gym-ball group has increased significantly (p<0.01, p<0.05) compared to the elastic band exercise group. 2. As a result of measuring lumbar muscular strength 72° before and after carrying out the exercise program, lumbar muscular strength of the gym-ball group has increased significantly (p<0.05) compared to the elastic band exercise group.If we generalize the results stated above, the gym-ball exercise is effective on improving the lumbar muscular strength and the abdominal strength for patients with chronic lumbago.
요부 안정화 운동 프로그램이 좌식 생활 여성의 요천추부 각도, 근력, 체력 및 통증에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of lumbar stabilization exercise on lumbosacral region angle, lumbar strength, lower muscle strength, physical fitness, and low back pain of sedentary women. Twenty females who spend more than 6 hours a day as sedentary at working were recruited. The subjects were assigned to two different groups which are exercise group (n=10) and non-exercise group (n=10). Exercise program was consisted with Swiss ball and lumber stability exercise, and it was performed 60 min/day and 3 times/wk for 8 weeks. Two-way analysis of variance was conducted to analyze experimental data. As a result, there was no significant difference between groups in lumbar lordosis angle and lumbar sacral angle. However, Isometric lumbar extension strength, isokinetic knee flexion and extension peak torque in angular velocity were significantly different between groups, and the pain was reduced. To conclude, this study identified the effectiveness of lumbar stabilization exercise on lumbar muscular, strength, Sargent jump, sit and reach test and reduced pain.
시각차단 한국무용 실시가 성인여성의 하지근력 및 평형성에 미치는 영향

This study examined the effects of 8-week eyes closed Korean dance training program on balance and lower limb strength in sedentary women. Fifteen young women volunteers are divided by two group, eyes closed group (n=9) and eyes opened group (n=6). During the experiment, two groups were undertook the same dance training program. All subjects received the same dance lesson for 60 minutes, three times a week, for 8 weeks. Balance was evaluated by the biodex balance system, while the lower limb strength was measured by Cybex. Vertical jump height was evaluated by Vertec. Two-way ANOVA was used to examine the differences between two groups after training. As a results, the measurements of balance score, time(p<.05) and vertical jump height(p<.01) showed significant improvements. As the measurements of Lower limb strength, knee flexor of both group showed significant improvements(p<.01), meanwhile knee extensor of two groups were not improved. This study demonstrated that 8-week Korean dance training improved balance and jump height, lower lime strength of sedentary women.
