According to railway safety regulations for securing the railway vehicle’s quality and performance, it can be partly exempted that the performance tests and production inspections on the railway vehicles which are produced and assembled for the purpose of test and research. The reasons of this exemption are for ensuring maximum autonomy and for saving time considered the development period of railway vehicle. However, it was continuously demanded the necessity of supplementation on the confirmation about railway vehicle’s quality & performance. Therefore, we added "The monitoring step" which is for securing the quality and performance in high speed railway vehicle’s subsystem & compartment to supplement those tests & inspections in development. In this paper, based on a standard ABS(Activity Breakdown Structure) of railway vehicle and a WBS(Work Breakdown Structure) of the railway vehicle system, we investigate the necessity of monitoring in the High speed railway vehicle development. And by comparing and analyzing the essential requirements of international standard, IRIS(International Railway Industry Standard) & TSI(Technical Specification for Interoperability), we try to examine a standard monitoring procedure.

A Life in machinery parts and system shows gradual progress through the growth of design technology and innovation of manufacturing methodology etc. In this recent tendency, an Accelerated Life Test(ALT) is used to estimate stability and reliability of machinery parts and system for short period. As ALT is performed by applying high stress compared with using condition in a short time, we can rapidly evaluate the life time and failure rate. In this paper we carry out the ALT for CMB Contactor constructing the online-real time monitoring system, as a result of test we analyze the CMB Contactor's failure mode and failure mechanism. Consequently we will examine the method of evaluation life time in CMB Contactor through a estimation for interesting value - relationship of life time and stress, B10 life time etc. by simulation.

The rolling stock life define period from making stock to scraping and for normal condition continuing operate preventive maintenance that is considering life cycle of decided component's life and breakdown maintenance that is replacing after components broke. For the preventive maintenance must be compute life of component and replacement interval for minimum cost of the maintenance. Therfore this paper introduces evaluating method that is the replacement interval of rolling stock using Accelerated life test.

In this study we review all matters for system application based on the international and the domestic standards. Considering the minimization of bottom frame damage ease of maintenance withstanding-environmental performance (condensation or rain) maintenance of airtightness customer convenience and safety issues in railway vehicle the conceptual design for doorstep equipment for both the low and the high level platforms is carried out. On the basis of conceptual design the prototype is manufactured. We perform the vibration test based on the international standard IEC-61373 for securement of the reliability and enhancement of design & production. Finally we would like to describe the test results.

As a case study on determining the replacement interval for the CMB contactor, we analyzed a field failure data during 59 months and through the simulation reliability is analyzed. As a result of analyzing the reliability we estimated parameters and analyzed distribution characteristics. Ultimately using the estimated results and applying the Age Replacement Policy considered the cost information, CMB contactor's replacement interval is determined. Through the comparison, analysis between the replacement interval and manufacturing company's, the necessity of replacement interval that is reflected in our operation circumstances is examined.

The high-speed train(KTX) was operated in domestic since 2004 and 5 years have been passed since then. At the beginning most of the KTX component maintenance period was followed by the France SNCF. It was settled by the Replacement interval. But the environment and operation condition are different from each other(Geographical difference(climate, rainfall, etc), many station than france and existing railway length than exclusive railway length), so the Replacement interval maintenance period can be different in some component. Therefore new Replacement interval is necessary based on our own circumstances. This paper introduces failure analysis case on Single Braking Display to set Replacement interval in domestic. KTX-RCM(Reliability Centered Maintenance System) Data was investigated.

It was settled by the TBO(Time Between Overhauls). But the environment and operation condition are different form each other, so the TBO maintenance period can be different in some component. Therefore new TBO is necessary based on our own circumstances. This paper introduces failure analysis case on some components to set TBO in domestic. KTX-RCM(Reliability Centered Maintenance System), MICS(Maintenance Information Computer System) and KOVIS(KORAIL ERP System) Data was investigated.

In this paper, we investigate the development process of the quality assurance system ISO9001 in the railway industry and ISO/TS 16949 the quality system in the automotive industry. We study the international standard IRIS(International Railway Industry Standard) & TSI(Technical Specification for Interoperability) applied in railway industry. Throughout studying for the whole development process of the Rolling Stock Quality System, we are to review the necessity of the monitoring process and assesment process applied in IRIS & TSI guidelines. It will be the keystone enhancing our quality level to global level in railway industry.
