The muscle stem cells of domestic animals are of interest to researchers in the food and biotechnology industries for the production of cultured meat. For producing cultured meat, it is crucial for muscle stem cells to be efficiently isolated and stably maintained in vitro on a large scale. In the present study, we aimed to optimize the method for the enrichment of pig muscle stem cells using a magnetic-activated cell sorting (MACS) system. Pig muscle stem cells were collected from the biceps femoris muscles of 14 d-old pigs of three breeds [Landrace×Yorkshire×Duroc (LYD), Berkshire, and Korean native pigs] and cultured in skeletal muscle growth medium-2 (SkGM-2) supplemented with epidermal growth factor (EGF), dexamethasone, and a p38 inhibitor (SB203580). Approximately 30% of total cultured cells were nonmyogenic cells in the absence of purification in our system, as determined by immunostaining for cluster of differentiation 56 (CD56) and CD29, which are known markers of muscle stem cells. Interestingly, following MACS isolation using the CD29 antibody, the proportion of CD56+/CD29+ muscle stem cells was significantly increased (91.5±2.40%), and the proportion of CD56 single-positive nonmyogenic cells was dramatically decreased. Furthermore, we verified that this method worked well for purifying muscle stem cells in the three pig breeds. Accordingly, we found that CD29 is a valuable candidate among the various marker genes for the isolation of pig muscle stem cells and developed a simple sorting method based on a single antibody to this protein.

제습기의 역할은 태양열제습냉방시스템 요소 중에서도 매우 중요하다. 본 논문은 이러한 특성에 맞추어 제작된 장치를 갖고서 제습능력에 영향을 미치는 유량비를 바꾸어 실험한 결과이다. 실험은 크기가 40m3인 항온항습실을 대상으로 이루어졌으며, 향류형 제습기의 수직 높이는 0.4m로 고정되었다. 또한 충진층은 액체흡수제와의 접촉면을 넓게 하기 위하여 플라스틱 충진재로 채워져 있으며, 흡수제의 온도는 빠른 변화를 보기 위하여 15°C로, 농도는 40%로 고정하였다. 액체흡수제의 유량과 습도가 높은 공기의 유량을 각각 3단계로 바꾸어 실험한 결과,풍량이 높을수록 제습기 효과는 낮아졌으나, 전체적인 제습량에서는 많아졌다. 한편, 제습기에서 액체흡수제 유량이 많을수록 제습되는 수분량이 많아졌으나, 시간의 변화에 따라 제습되는 속도는 현저하게 낮아졌다. 따라서, 향후 실험에서는 유량의 변화 폭을 더욱 확대해서 많은 실험 결과를 확보하고, 이를 모델링화 하여 높은 정확도를 예측할 필요가 있다.
복합형 태양열 가열기 열매체 동시운전시의 열적 성능에 관한 실험적 연구

With increment on interesting about improving renewable energy efficiency, many research have been conducted and the research about hybrid air-water heater using solar energy that can make heating air and hot water has been conducted also. In this experiment, the temperature difference and thermal efficiency were investigated when two heating medium(air and liquid) was working simultaneously. As a result, thermal efficiency showed 44% to 88% when these heating medium was working simultaneously depending on operation condition and it is better than traditional solar collector. Also possibility of application into building equipment also was confirmed based on temperature and thermal efficiency. But necessity of additional studies about proper operation condition according to purpose of use and heat load was confirmed because change of thermal efficiency by air velocity and flux of liquid was shown a huge difference.
에어커튼 설치 시의 저장 창고에서의 에너지절약 효과에 관한 연구

An air curtain system is one of the most effective devices to cut the energy loss in stead of conventional air conditioning system. Especially when it is applied to the chamber that needs circumstance to be controlled, it can bring up more energy conservation than any type of air conditioner. For those reasons, air curtain system is now highlighted from the point of energy saving and it would be expected as an effective method replacing conventional air conditioning. It was also reported that air curtain system has more advantages than typical air conditioner when it is installed in the cold storage. This study has dealt with field test results of air curtain system where it was attached with a large-size scale low-temperature warehouse in Korea. It was also clear that energy saving with the air curtain system has recorded above 30% of total electricity consumption compared to conventional refrigerating system and it also has area to be compensated for the future.
태양열 공기-물 가열기의 공기 가열 성능 평가 및 열적 성능 개선을 위한 실험적 연구

Solar energy is one of the important renewable energy resources. It can be used for air heating, hot water supply, heat source of desiccant cooling system and so on. And many researches for enhancing efficiency have been conducted because of these various uses of solar thermal energy. This study was performed to investigate the air heating performance of hybrid solar air-water heater that can heat air and liquid respectively or simultaneously and finding method for improving thermal performance of this collector. This collector has both liquid pipe and air channel different with the traditional solar water and air heater. Fins were installed in the air channel for enhancing the air heating performance of collector. Also air inlet & outlet temperature, ambient temperature and solar collector’s inner part temperature were confirmed with different air velocity on similar solar irradiance. As a result, temperature of heated air was shown about 43°C to 60°C on the 30°C of ambient temperature and thermal efficiency of solar collector was shown 28% to 73% with respect to air velocity. Also, possibility of improvement of thermal performance of this collector could be ascertained from the heat transfer coefficient calculated from this experiment. Thus, it is considered that the research for finding optimal structure of hybrid solar air-water heater for enhancing thermal performance might be needed to conduct as further study based on the method for improving air heating performance confirmed in this study.
