인문,사회과학편 : Umbrella 모형을 적용한 체육과 중심의 교과통합 프로그램 개발 및 타당성 검증

The purpose of this study is to investigate the methods for developing an integrated curriculum focused on physical education using the Umbrella model of inter-disciplinary connection and to verify the validity of the developed integrated curriculum through applying it to teaching students. The units of physical education were selected by IPA. This study was to investigate on developing a curriculum program based on the Umbrella model developed by Drake and on developing a method of teaching models by the stages based on the KDB model. By applying the integrated program, those areas of character education and psychological characteristics were reviewed and analyzed. In conclusion, an inter-disciplinarily integrated curriculum focused on physical education using the Umbrella model was proposed, and which was achieved by reconstruction of curriculum in terms of the hierarchy and linkages related to the specific themes. Also, by implementing the program, students became active participants, deveolped a sense of being us, showed a shift to creative thinking. The verification of the program proved its utility, which includes the change of perception on physical education, self-confidence, positiveness, satisfaction, cooperation, sportsmanship, consideration, and responsibility. This study can suggest the possibility to achieve the reinforcement of relevant lessons of physical education while maintaining physical activity by practicing this interdisciplinary curriculum method.

This study began with the question, Is 17 hours per year of sports club activity effective to improve physical fitness and basic psychological attitude and sports character of elementary school students? Fifty-five (55) fifth and sixth grade students from Y Elementary School participated in the study. Eighteen (18) students participated in sports club for 17 hours in the year; Nineteen (19) students participated three times per week and eighteen (18) students did not participate in the sports club program. Pre and post tests were conducted to compare physical fitness, basic psychological needs and sports character. Muscle endurance, flexibility and power measurements were used for the physical fitness assessment. Questionnaires were used to assess basic psychological needs and sports character. The results of the study were as follows: First, there was a significant difference between physical fitness pre and post test in the three times per week group but the other two groups did not show a significant difference. Second, the three times group scored significantly higher with regards to psychological attitude and sports character than the other two groups. Third, there were not significant differences between the 17 hours per year group and the control group in basic psychological needs and sports character. In conclusion, sports club activity, three or more times per week was found to be effective in increasing physical fitness, basic psychological attitude and sports character of elementary school students.

This study was began from the concept of educational competition instead of only competition. The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of educational competition activities sociability. Eighty-six (86) sixth grade students from Y Elementary School have participated in the study. Pre and post tests were conducted to compare leadership, activity, courtesy, cooperativity, empathy and sociability. The results of the study were as follows: there was a significant difference between leadership pre and post test but the others did not show a significant difference. However the average participation in leadership, activity, courtesy, cooperativity, empathy, sociability factors were higher than pre to the post. Also it showed the students' sports sociability change through the interviews, etc. In conclusion, if a teacher creates a lesson that seeks the spirit of competition from curriculum, it will help improve student's sociability.
영교시 스포츠클럽활동이 초등학생들의 학업성적, 학습태도, 신체적 자기개념에 미치는 영향

This study began with asking, Is morning sport club physical activity an effective method to improve academic achievement and learningattitude, physical selfconcept? The early morning sport club program was implemental prior to regular classes for 20 students of the experimental group for 5 months and 20 students of the control group were only taking regular classes in Y elementary school. The academic achievement of the students in the following five subjects: Korean, Math, Society, Science, English was tested. To assess learning -attitude, physical self-concept a questionnaire was used. The results of the study were as follows: First, the mean score of the academic achievement of the experimental group (85.7) was significantly higher than the control group (82.3) (p<.05). Second, the mean score of the learning attitude of the experimental group (4.3) was significantly higher than the control group (3.6) (p<.05). Third, the physical self-concept of the experimental group showed more significant improvement in muscular strength, body fat, outward appearance, physical satisfaction than control group. In conclusion, the early morning sport club activity programs were effective in increasing academic achievement and learning attitude, physical self-concept of elementary school students.
