SPE electrocatalysts were made by reducing agent penetrating method. Pt loading, morphological, and electrochemical characteristics and cell voltage properties were investigated. The amount of Pt loading increased upto the reducing agent concentration of 1.0 ㏖/L and then decreased. At that concentration, the amount of Pt loading was the most, 3.56㎎/㎠ and Pt layer was the thickest. The largest electricity and roughness factor from cyclic voltammogram were 284.92 mC and 1356.75 respectively at the reducing agent concentration 1.0 ㏖/L. But surface area per unit weight of Pt was somewhat lower. As the amount of Pt loading increased, cell voltage became lower. At the amount of Pt loading 3.56㎎/㎠, current density 1 A/㎠, and temperature 25℃ it was the lowest, 3.0 V. As temperature increased, cell voltage became lower. Cell voltages at 50℃, 80℃ were 2.9 V, 2.7 V respectively under the condition of 3.56 ㎎/㎠, 1 A/㎠, It was at the reducing agent concentration 1.0 ㏖/L.

Studies have been made on Pt-Solid Polymer Electrolyte(SPE). Perfluorosulfonic acid polymer membranes (Dupont manufactured Nofion) were used as SPE. Pt was directly attached to both sides of the membrane by reductant penetrating method. We have analyzed characteristic properties of the fabricated Pt-SPE. As a result, Pt loadings, electricity and roughness factor showed maximum values at 1 ㏖/L NaBH₄. Optimum concentration of reducing agent of Pt-SPE preparation was found at 1㏖/L NaBH₄for 5 m㏖/L H₂PtCl??.

We were prepared SPE-composites with reductant penetrating method and impregnation-reduction method. And its characteristic properties were investigated by morphological analysis, electrochemical experiment and water electrolysis. As a result of the morphological analysis, Pt of SPE-composites prepared by reductant penetrating and impregnation-reduction method was deposited outward, inward respectively. From the electrochemical experiment, reductant penetrating method is better than impregnation-reduction method. As a result of water electrolysis, we confirmed that reductant penetrating method is better.
