        Differentiation of Aspergillus niger van Tieghem (IMI 14873) during shake and submerged culture was studied. Four varient media were used for synchronizing culture and were involved in the experiments. The levels of polyphosphates, inorganic phosphates, and organic phosphates in mycelia were also investigated. Our study was focused on sporulation of this fungus because sporulation is not growth but reproduction. The results obtained were as follows; 1. The level of organic phosphates increased, but the level of polyphosphates conversely fell when sporulation was induced. 2. The levels of total phosphates and inorganic phosphates had been constantly kept when sporulation was induced. 3. During the hyphal growth phase and early stage of sporulation, phosphates were combined with proteins, but they were not in sporulation phase.
