In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions nationwide, the Korean government has announced a target of reducing greenhouse gases by 37% relative to the business-as-usual (BAU) level by 2030. Because the building sector is important for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, various policies are being strengthened to reduce building energy consumption. In order for these policies to have a substantial effect, it is necessary to ensure technological and economic feasibility in the marketplace and to provide energy information that can be easily understood and evaluated by building owners and engineers. Providing information that accounts for the status of energy consumption by end-use (heating, cooling, domestic hot water, lighting, etc.) is a very important part of establishing a concrete action plan for energy conservation. In response, a national research project is being conducted regarding the installation of the continuous measurement systems of energy consumption by end-use in sample buildings and the creation of a reference energy use intensity (EUI) database and benchmarking system for comparative analysis. As a basis for this national project, this study defined energy consumption by end-use for office buildings. The study also made principles to measure such consumption and convert the measured data into EUI. Eighty five office buildings were selected as samples. The installation of measurement systems for the sample buildings is scheduled to be completed in phases over 4 years starting in 2015, and measurement systems have thus far been installed in 19 office buildings. A reference EUI database for office buildings and a benchmarking tool based on this database will be made available after 2020, and similar systems for apartment buildings are now being established.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 4 weeks" nutrition education program for female marriage immigrants. Subjects were 14 female marriage immigrants attending Nutri Plus program in Jeonbuk province. Nutrition education program were consisted of four lessons (60 min/lesson): 1st lesson ‘5 major nutrients & function", 2nd lesson ‘6 Food group and sources of Food Exchange System", 3rd lesson "Meal Plan for Normal body weight : Daily needed energy and food exchange units for normal body weight", and 4th lesson "Smart food choice for snacks and dine out". We examined the differences in dietary attitudes, nutrition knowledge and dietary intakes between pre-education and post-education. After education, there were positive improvements on nutrition knowledge score: ‘function of carbohydrate’, ‘function of protein’ ‘function of fat’, ‘foods of carbohydrate’, ‘foods of fat’, ‘foods of vitamin ’, ‘foods of mineral’, on dietary attitudes: ‘taking a balanced meal’. In the evaluation of dietary intakes according to KDRI, after education, there were positive improvements on intake level of protein, vitamin A, vitamin C, thiamin, riboflavin and vitamin B6. Also, there were positive improvements on INQ of vitamin C, vitamin B6, calcium, P and Fe. In NAR, there were positive improvements on protein, vitamin A, vitamin C, riboflavin, vitamin B6, folic acid, `calcium, P, Fe and Zn. It showed that the nutrition education focused on individual daily needed food exchange units using Food Exchange System improved nutrition knowledge, dietary attitudes and nutrients intake level in the female marriage immigrants. It suggests that it is needed to develop nutrition educational programs and materials focused on individual daily needed food exchange units for female marriage immigrants" dietary improvement.
계측 데이터를 활용한 아파트 표본 세대에서의 용도별 에너지사용량 원단위(2017 - 2018) 분석

A national research project is being conducted to provide building energy information, which is now mainly limited to energy consumption data by fuel type, for each end use such as space heating, domestic hot water, etc. In order to achieve research objectives, energy consumption measurement systems by end use are being installed in sample buildings over a six-year period, which began in 2014. The measured data are being statistically processed for constructing an information system on energy use and CO2 emission intensities by end use. This study aims to present statistical values on site energy use intensities by end use calculated using measurement data of 71 sample apartment units in Seoul for 1 year from May 2017 to April 2018, and to compare these data to the U.S. Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS) 2015 data. The average site EUIs are in the following order: space heating > electrical appliances > DHW > cooking > lighting > space cooling > air movement. The average site EUIs have the same order as those of the RECS 2015 data: space heating > electrical appliances, etc. > DHW > space cooling. The number of sample apartment units will continue to increase until 2019 (total number of samples 200) and intensity data by end use will be continuously updated through collection of measurement data.

Providing information that accounts for the status of energy consumption by end-use (heating, cooling, domestic hot water, lighting, etc.) is a very important part of establishing a concrete action plan for energy conservation in separate equipment systems. This study found ways to measure energy consumption by end-use and convert the resulting data into EUI. Forty complexes with 200 units were selected as samples. The installation for sample buildings is scheduled to be phased in over the 4 years starting in 2015, and the systems have thus far been installed in 10 complexes with 50 units. A reference EUI database for apartment buildings and a benchmarking tool based on this database will be made available after 2020.
표본건물 계측에 의한 공동주택 세대에서의 용도별 에너지사용량 및 CO₂ 배출량 연간 원단위 (2016 - 2017) 분석

In this study, annual site and primary energy use intensities (EUIs) and CO₂ emission intensities (CEIs) per area by end use were estimated based on the measurement data from June 2016 to May 2017 of 50 sample apartment units in Seoul. In addition, estimated site EUIs by end use were compared to the U.S. Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS) 2009 data. Site EUIs by end use were found to be in the order of heating > electric appliance > domestic hot water > cooking > lighting > cooling > air movement. In the case of primary EUIs and CEIs by end use, electric appliance was found to be the largest. As results of comparison with the RECS 2009 data, it was found that site EUIs were very similar for heating, domestic hot water and electric appliance, etc., but slightly different for cooling. The number of sample apartment units will continue to increase until 2020 (total number of samples 200) and intensities data by end use will be continuously updated through continuous collection of measurement data.

The purpose of this study is to preliminarily derive the energy use intensity(EUI) and reference EU I of apartments’ heating energy consumption in the autumn season. 45 sample units were selected for analysis in this study. The installation of energy consumption measuring equipments for the sample units(40 complexes with 200 units) is scheduled to be phased in over the 4 years starting from 2015. A reference EUI database for apartments and a benchmarking tool based on this database will be available after 2020, and similar systems for office buildings are now being established.
