Connective tissue grafts (CTGs) are generally viewed as the most successful technique for root coverage. The aim of this case report was to describe the treatment and follow-up outcome of two complicated cases of gingival recession in the maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth using subepithelial CTGs. The operation was performed by the following steps: recipient site formation, removal of grafts from the donor site, and graft placement and immobilization. The grafted connective tissue was submerged by the envelope, modified double papilla flap, and coronally advanced flap techniques. There were no postoperative complications. Soft tissue volumes increased, and gingival biotypes were acquired. Improved esthetics and oral hygiene were obtained. Root coverage using subepithelial CTGs is considered as the proper treatment choice, but it requires long-term observations due to additional coverage by creeping movement or deterioration by relapse.
천일염 함유 구강세정제의 치은염과 구취 개선 효과에 관한 연구

Purpose: The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical effect of mouthwash containing sun-dried salt with or without natural materials on gingivitis and halitosis. Materials and Methods: A total of 77 subjects conducted a clinical trial (distilled water; 26 control group subjects, sun-dried salt; 25 group A subjects, sun-dried salt with natural materials; 26 group B subjects). During the experimental period, subjects used the appropriate mouthwash for 30 seconds, 15 mL/time, three times/day for 1 week. At baseline and 1 week, five parameters (gingival index, GI; plaque index, PI; sulcus bleeding index, SBI; halitosis index, HI; gingival cravicular fluid, GCF) were assessed. Results: GI, SBI, and HI in the control group increased at 1 week compared to baseline. These indices decreased and increased in groups A and B, respectively. PI in the control group decreased at 1 week but increased in the experimental groups increased. GCF increased in the control group and decreased in the experimental groups. Conclusion: Mouthwash containing sun-dried salt with or without natural materials could prevent deterioration of gingivitis and halitosis. However, they could not inhibit plaque accumulation.
