        Teacher and peer feedback

        This study examines university students’ views of teacher and peer feedback and also investigates the efficacy of teacher and peer feedback for improvement in their L2 writing. Additionally, the current study explores whether there is a difference with regard to the efficacy of each feedback for improvement in writing among the students with different language proficiency levels. Thirty-one students enrolled in an English composition course participated in this study. To answer the research questions, students’ writing samples with 6 different topics were collected, and surveys were also conducted. For the data analysis, descriptive statistics, paired t-tests, chi-square tests, a one-way ANOVA test, and a wilcoxon test were utilized. The results derived from the data analysis were as follows: 1) students revealed generally positive attitudes to both teacher and peer feedback, but it was obvious that the students preferred teacher feedback to peer feedback although some advantages of using peer feedback were found; 2) both teacher and peer feedback resulted in better final versions than the first drafts although the students made significantly greater writing improvement after receiving teacher feedback than peer feedback; and 3) more significant differences were found between English level groups for the revised drafts than the first drafts, indicating that teacher feedback was particularly effective for high level students for their writing improvement.

        대학생의 개인적 특성이 영어 말하기 시험의 타당성에 미치는 영향

        This study examined the effect of individual characteristics (introversion, confidence in English, English ability, gender) of students on validity of English speaking tests through the comparison of perceptions and performance of different groups of students in an Interview Oral Test (IOT), a Pair Oral Test (POT), and a Group Oral Test (GOT). Twenty-eight participants took the three tests and responded to the questionnaire assessing their perceptions of and reactions to the tests. Main findings of the study were as follows. First, introversion, English ability, gender did not influence the perceptions of validity, reliability, practicality, backwash effects of each test. However, the students who had confidence in English tended to have more positive attitudes to validity and practicality of IOT. In test preference, less introverted, more confident, or male students were more favorable to IOT and more introverted, less confident, or female students were more positive to POT. Lastly, introversion, gender, and confidence in English were not related to speaking performances on IOT, POT, GOT, but English ability had significant relationship with those of all of the tests.

        대도시 인적자원의 창조성에 따른 주거환경 특성연구

        The purpose of the study is to examine the features of residential environments for human capital living in seoul metro city according to creativity using korean housing survey data in 2014. For the empirical analysis, this study classifies the human capital into three categories; non-creative class, creative core class, and creative professional, and specifically analyzed how much is each class satisfied with current residental environments and which factors are closely related to the satisfaction based on ordered logistic regression model. The results show that each class living in the metro city has different interest in the residential environments. Specifically, creative class is more interested in the convenience and the relationship with neighborhood, while non-creative class is interested in living in apartment housing as well as neighborhood quality and physical environments. Especially, there is more similarity between non-creative class and creative professional from the perspective of residential environments. Based on the results, it is found that creativeness can be related to activation of neighborhood and local community. Moreover, it is also assumed that the creative class may have the important role when focusing on developing creative city.

        상호작용식 읽기 지도와 협력학습을 통한 대학영어 독해수업의 효과적 교수법 연구

        The purpose of this study is to explore effective instruction for teaching reading through interactive reading instruction and collaborative learning in an EFL reading class. Data were collected from 128 students taking reading classes at two universities in Korea. They were asked to take pre- and post-reading tests and fill out an attitude questionnaire after teaching reading classes employing interactive reading instruction and collaborative learning throughout one semester. The results showed that the students" attitudes to both interactive reading instruction and collaborative learning were positive although they did not receive significantly higher scores in the post-reading test. They preferred collaborative reading activities to interactive reading activities, and among the interactive reading activities they favoured bottom-up activities more than top-down activities. The findings suggest that interactive reading activities can be combined well with collaborative reading activities, and the combined activities seem to lead to a more effective reading class.

        과업 계획이 EFL 학습자의 쓰기 수행에 미치는 영향

        This study aims to investigate the effects of three types of planning conditions (no planning, pretask planning, and on-line planning) on fluency, complexity, and accuracy in L2 writing. Each of 60 Korean university students performed their assigned tasks under the three different types of planning conditions. The results show that; first, pre-task and on-line planning resulted in improving complexity, fluency, and accuracy compared to no planning. Accuracy was significantly improved only when in on-line planning; secondly, complexity had strong relationship with fluency in all types of planning conditions; finally, accuracy was negatively correlated with complexity and fluency in pre-task planning while not related to those in on-line planning.         수험자 특징이 페어, 그룹 말하기 시험 수행에 미치는 영향

        This study investigates the effect of test-taker characteristics on performances in a Pair Oral Test (POT) and a Group Oral Test (GOT). The scores of POT and GOT were examined to see if there were differences between the performances in POT and GOT and if their performances were affected by their own or other test-takers’ personalities, English proficiency, and gender. The sample of test takers was 174 students who were taking English conversation course at a Korean university. Students paired and grouped according to (extrovert and introvert) personality, (low and high) English proficiency, and gender. They took each of three different grouping forms of POT and GOT totaling up to six tests. The findings of the study were as follows. First, the students performed better in POT than in GOT. Secondly, extrovert students showed higher performances than introvert students in both POT and GOT. Thirdly, low English proficiency students performed relatively better in GOT than in POT compared to that of high English proficiency students. Last, female students performed better in POT. While personality and English proficiency did not give any significant influence on the performances in both tests significant gender impact was presented when paired with the same gender of female. Female test-takers were assigned higher scores when paired with the same gender. On the contrary, the female test-takers received lower scores when grouped with the same gender than any other forms of GOT groupings.

        창조산업의 공간적 집적 특성에 관한 연구

        과거 제조업 중심의 생산방식이 다품종소량생산의 시대로 변화함에 따라 창조성과 관련된 창조산업의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 이러한 창조산업은 일반적으로 클러스터 형태로 성장한다고 알려져 있다. 이에 본 연구는 2009년부터 2019년까지 10년간의 창조산업의 공간적 집적현상을 다양한 분석 기법을 이용하여 잠재적 클러스터, 특화지역, 주변지역으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 창조산업 클러스터의 수도권 집중 현상이 관찰되었다. 반면, 비수도권 지역에는 특화지역은 발견되었으나 클러스터 지역은 거의 발견되지 않았다 둘째, 창조산업 클러스터의 수도권 집중 현상은 10년간 더욱 심화되었다. 셋째, 창조산업 클러스터는 수도권 지역 내에서도 권역별로 불균등하게 나타나고 있다. 넷째, 창조산업 클러스터 지역은 서울지역에서 경기도 북부지역으로 확산되고 있다. 이러한 분석을 통해, 창조산업의 수도권 집중현상을 해소할 수 있는 정책마련이 필요함을 보여주고 있다. As manufacturing-oriented production methods have changed into the flexible manufacturing system, the importance of creative industries has been growing; Creative industries are generally related to cluster forms. This study analyzed spatial clustering of the creative industry from 2009 to 2010 based on the type of clusters such as cluster areas, specialized areas, and surrounding areas by using various analysis. As a result, first, there are most of creative industry clusters in the metropolitan. Specialized areas were found in non-metropolitan areas, but cluster areas were rarely found. Second, creative industry clusters have been concentrated in the metropolitan area for 10 years. Third, the creative industry clusters are unbalanced inside the metropolitan area. Fourth, the creative industry cluster area is spreading from Seoul to northern Gyeonggi province. The results of this study show that it is necessary to prepare policies to solve the concentration of the creative industry in the metropolitan area.

        4차 산업 집적이 지역경제에 미치는 영향 분석

        최근 4차 산업혁명의 시대를 맞아 지역경제의 새로운 성장 동력이 될 것이라고 기대되는 4차 산업에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이러한 관심을 바탕으로 다양한 정책들이 수립되고 있으나 실제 지역경제에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 4차 산업의 집적수준의 변화가 지역경제 성장에 미치는 영향을 전국의 시군구를 대상으로 공간통계모형을 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 4차 산업의 집적이 지역경제의 생산성 측면에는 긍정적인 영향을 주지만 지역의 소득에 대해서는 영향을 준다는 근거를 발견하기 어려웠다. 따라서 4차 산업의 집적이 지역경제에 미치는 영향은 제한적인 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, 4차 산업 유형별로 집적이 지역경제에 미치는 영향이 상이하였으며, 지역경제 영향을 주는 4차 산업혁명 관련 산업은 제조업과 금융 및 보험업의 집적으로 나타났다. Recent years have seen a rapid boom of the 4th industry and relevant policies in regions. However there are only a few studies about the impact of the 4th industry on the local economy. This study examines the agglomeration effects of the 4th industry on regional economy by using a spatial statistical models. As a result, it was found that the agglomeration of the 4th industry had a positive effect on the productivity of the local economy, while there is not good enough evidence to prove the relationship between the 4th industry and the income of the region. These findings indicate that the impact of the agglomeration of the fourth industry on the local economy is limited. In addition, the impact on the local economy was different by the type of the fourth industry, and the manufacturing industry and financial and insurance industries had a positive impact on the growth of the local economy.
