프랭크 스텔라 작품을 모티브로 한 뱅앤올룹슨 전시 공간 디자인 프로세스에 관한 연구

본 연구는 공간 디자인 스튜디오Ⅱ 수업에서 진행한 공간 디자인 프로세스 연구로서, 이론적 고찰을 통해 조형(造形)에 대한 탐구를 바탕으로 한 공간 구성, 이에 맞는 브랜드를 적용시킨 브랜드 전시 공간을 디자인하는 프로젝트 이다. 본 연구의 과정은 크게 두 과정으로 나뉘며, 먼저 ‘Man the designer’의 디자인 요소와 원리에 대한 이론적 고찰을 바탕으로 Frank Stella을 작품을 모티브로 하여 입체화 시켜 형태를 발전시켰다. 두 번째로 뱅앤올룹슨을 분석하여 브랜드 이미지를 반영한 형태로 발전시켰으며 이에맞는 기능과 색, 재질 등을 형태에 적용시켜 전시 공간으로 계획하였다. 이에 따른 도면 및 다이어그램, 동선 소재 등을 구체적으로 표현하였다. 이를 위해 전체 15주 수업기간 동안 진행되었으며 실제 작품의 진행 기간은 약 13주가 소요되었다. 끝으로 본 연구는 기존의 기능에 따른 공간 디자인의 프로세스와 달리 디자인 요소와 원리에 따른 형태적 조형미를 탐구 한 후 그에 걸 맞는 브랜드의 적용과 전시라는 기능을 반영한 공간 디자인 프로세스 개발에 있어 향후 기초 자료로 활용될 것으로 기대한다. This study was conducted as a research on spatial design process during the Spatial Design Studio Ⅱ, and this project was to form a space based on the exploration of modeling through theoretical analysis and to create an exhibition space by selecting and applying a correspondingly adequate brand. The process of this study is divided into two phases. First, this study borrowed motifs from the works by Frank Stella and rendered it into a three dimensional modeling on basis of a theoretical review of design elements and principles of ‘Man the designer’. Second, the study analyzed the brand image of Bang & Olufsen and then created a form in reflection of it, and then the exhibition space was planned by applying those functions, colors and textures which were considered appropriate to the brand image. Based on this, the drawings, diagrams, moving lines, and materials were specifically expressed. To this end, the class was conducted for a period of 15 weeks, and the actual period required for the project took approximately 13 weeks. Lastly, this study’s findings are expected to be utilized as basic data for the development of spatial designs which intend to explore the formative esthetics based on design elements and principles unlike the existing function-driven spatial design process and to apply a correspondingly adequate brand and exhibition function.
