This paper focuses on the numerical analysis to optimize Hydrogen fuel injection timing for a two-stroke, free-piston spark ignited engine employing reverse uniflow scavenging and intake valve. The free piston engine system consists of a block with a double-end cylinder and one intake valve at each end. Appling the valve which operates in 12㎳ for positioning 6㎜ in stroke, this paper presents the characteristics of the flow fields in engine cylinder including intake valve. It was investigated that the fuel mass transfer was strongly affected by the initial in-cylinder flow pattern.
