To improve the performance of a bent-axis type axial piston pump driven by the tapered pistons, it is necessary to know the pressure ripple characteristics. The purpose of this paper is to understand the effect on the pressure ripple characteristics and the prediction by comparing experimental and theoretical results. The simulation model of the bent-axis type axial piston pump is developed in the AMESim environment using the geometrical dimension and the driving mechanism of the piston pump. The results can be obtained to predict the performance characteristics of the bent-axis type axial piston pump.

In the high rotational speed and pressure state, the leakage flow rate of the axial piston pump is one of the serious problems and make great reasons to decrease the volume efficiency. In this study, tribology characteristics is clarified for the hydrostatic slipper bearing in the swash plate type axial piston pump, by means of theoretical analysis for the different shape of the hydrostatic slipper bearing. It was analyzed by Mathcad software and used equal conditions at 0° swash plate angle in each model. The results show that performance characteristics of the swash plate type axial piston pump are significantly influenced by the shape of the hydrostatic slipper bearing.

The lubrication characteristics of line contact between the vane and the cam-ring have been investigated in an hydraulic vane pump for power steering system. This paper is aimed at obtaining the friction force and the coefficient of friction between the vane and the cam-ring of hydraulic vane pump. The coefficient of friction is obtained by measuring the friction force in the contact region between the vane and the cam-ring. First, in order to obtain the friction force and the coefficient between the vane and the cam-ring, the acting normal force applied to the vane should be gained. This force can be calculated by summing up the inertial force of the vane, the viscosity force caused by oil and the hydraulic force occurred by pressure of the oil. In this paper, the experiment has been modeled to real condition between the vane and the cam-ring. The load is applied by the servo valve controlling the pressure of the hydraulic cylinder. Friction force is measured by the load cell attached to the vane-supporting arm. The signals measured by the force sensor go through an A/D converter and are then processed by a personal computer. In the paper, following results were obtained. Firstly, the more deliver pressure increases, the more friction force increases but the coefficient of friction decreases between the vane and the cam-ring. Secondly, we see that the region of lubrication between the vane and the cam-ring exists on the regime of the mixded lubrication and hydrodynamic lubrication.

On the power steering system of the automobile, the balanced type fixed displacement vane pump is principally applied to the main pump. In this pump, it is important to the pressure compensated type flow control valve. For the flow control valve controls the flow rate which needed to operate the actuatro, it has the pressure compensator that kept the pressure difference between the foward and rear position of the orifice constantly. When the inlet flow is proportionally increased by rotational velocity, the controlled flow is passed to the orifice but the overflow is bypassed to the inlet prot of cartridge by return spool. Therefore, in this paper, th theoretical simulation to parameters affected to the flow control had performed. The results show that the impact factors such as the orifice area, the spring stiffness, and the initial force exert a influence on the flow control valve characteristic of the balanced type fixed displacement vane pump.

To improve the performance of the bent-axis type axial piston pump driven by the tapered piston, it is necessary to know the driving characteristics and mechanism of the tapered piston and the cylinder block. Since each piston not only rotates on its axis and reciprocates in the cylinder bore, but also revolves around the axis of the driving shaft, it is difficult to analyze the driving mechanism theoretically. The theoretical mechanism for the bent-axis type axial piston pump is studied by using the geometrical method. The driving range of the tapered piston is determined by theoretical equations. The experimental results show that the cylinder block is driven by one tapered piston in a limited range and the core parameters such as driving factor of the piston and the ahead delay angle influenced performance of the bent-axis type axial piston pump

Direct laser sintering (DLS) technology for the resign coated sand is one of attractive technologies to produce molds and cores for the foundry industry rapidly and cost effectively. The objective of this case study is to develop casting pilot models using computer simulation technology, DLS RP machine and industrial computed tomography. The proposed casting design was verified by the Z-Cast software in the fields of fluid flow and solidification during the casting process. Casting parts with aluminum alloy using the post-curing treated sand moulds and cores are accurate to dimension and defect free.
