The anti-lack brake system(ABS) is designed to optimize braking effectiveness and maintain steerability. In this study a new anti-lack brake(ABS) using Electro-Rheological(ER) valve is proposed for passenger vehicle. In the proposed ER ABS, ER valve substitutes far solenaid valve af conventianal ABS. The design parameters of the ER valve are appropriately determined by considering the braking pressure required for a passenger vehicle. The sliding made controller(SMC) which has inherent robustness to system uncertainties are formulated for wheel slip control. The ER ABS is evaluated under various road conditions with 1/4 car model.<br/>

The conventional carburizing heat treatment gives annulus gears of auto transmission high surface hardness and stiffness. But, it gives also undesirable distortion by the heat treatment that causes planetary gear noise. To reduce distortion by heat treatment of annulus gear, we apply nitriding heat treatment for annulus gear. The heat treatment deformation of nitriding is smaller than that of carburizing. Also considering the difference of the gear flank deformation caused by each heat treatment methods, we modified the tooth form of pinion to suit the changed shape of annulus. The results of bench noise tests shows that gear noise of auto transmission is reduced with dispersion improvement.

Reduction of planetary gear noise for the automatic transmission was investigated using dynamic stiffness strengthening of the transmission case and the mounting bracket. Dynamic stiffness of case was improved by the reinforcing rib and shape change, through the FRF test, and 1’st mode frequency was also improved by the shape change of vehicle mounting bracket. After that, noise reduction was confirmed by the comparing before and after vibration and noise level of automatic transmission at the anechoic chamber and vehicle. Test results show that gear noise of transmission was improved 10dB at anechoic chamber and 8dB reduced in vehicle noise respectively.

Transmission - Hydraulic System needs higher pressure than existing Automatic transmission to deliver the power which is created by moving the belt, this power is made by the pressure in the pully. Therefore, Most Transmission needs involute gear type oil pumps. In this paper, We’ll suggest the methods of improvement through the investigation in mechanism to lower noise after constant temperature rise. And also the feature of the noise from the involute gear type oil pump, the core part of Transmission - Hydraulic System, in the stage of acceleration, deceleration in cold temperature and idle when car starts.

This paper is an experimental study on the main factors of fluid pressure pulsation phenomena occurring automatic transmission’s valve body in idle condition. When the vehicle is stationary, the transmission reserves the necessary hydraulic pressure in the ND / NR accumulator in preparation for forward or reverse. In the process of storing the hydraulic pressure in the accumulator, the line pressure is varied. When characteristics of dynamic pressure are not considered, pressure pulsation may occur. In order to identify the main factors of the pressure pulsation, the pressure propagation characteristics were analyzed by intervals and the influence factors were experimentally verified.
