An image compensating algorithm with high-vibration movement is proposed, using optical flow and the Kalman Filter. The temporal motion vector field is calculated by Optical flow and suspicious vectors are removed or adjusted by the Gaussian interpolation method. The high-vibrated vector filled is stabilized by the Kalman filter. Lastly, compensated images are obtained by affine transformation. This proposed algorithm gives good compensated video images on high-vibration situations.

This study measured the velocity of magnetic particles inside the power generation using external heat sources. Single Plane Illumination Microscopy (SPIM) was used to measure magnetic particles that are simultaneously affected by bubbly flow and magnetic field. It has the advantage of reducing errors due to particle superposition by illuminating the thin light sheet. The hydraulic diameter of the power generation is 3mm. Its surface is covered with a coil with a diameter of 0.3 mm. The average diameter of a magnetic particle is 200nm. The excitation and emission wavelengths are 530 and 650nm, respectively. In order to find out the flow characteristics, a total of four velocity fields were calculated in wide and narrow gap air bubbles, between the wall and the air bubble and just below the air bubble. Magnetic particles showed up to 8.59% velocity reduction in the wide gap between air bubbles due to external magnetic field.
핀홀 모델기반 Volume-PIV 개발과 원주 후류 측정

A new volumetric PIV technique is constructed and is used for the measurements of a cylinder wake. The measurement system consists of 4 cameras(1024 x 992 pixel. 500fps), a Ar-ion laser, two host computers and a synchronizer. A volumetric light beam is illuminated onto the flow field for spatial visualization. For camera calibration the conventional pin-hole model is used. Particle images are reconstructed based upon the voxels using the MART algorithm. The reconstructed voxel images (tomogram pair) of the two consecutive images then analyzed by means of 3D cross-correlation with an iterative multigrid volume deformation technique, returning the three-component velocity vector distribution over the measurement volume. The Reynolds number for the cylinder wake is 315.

The purpose of this study is two-fold. First, it tries to identify determinants of HDI (Human Development Index), a representative index to explain the level of living standard in African countries. Special attention has been paid to the effect of ODA (Official Development Assistance) and two types of economic growth on the index. Second, based on the Korean development experiences, this study seeks to derive future policy implications to the development practices in African countries. This study employs three spatial econometrics models (SAR, SEM, SAC) utilizing the country-level aggregated data of the forty-two African ODA recipient countries in 2012. This study finds while GDP per capita shows the positive causal effect to the enhancement on the living standard, GDP growth itself demonstrates negative influence on the living standard in the African countries. The development assistance (ODA) proves to be positively associated with the living standard in the countries. Social participation shows a positive impact on the index, but political environment is negatively correlated to the living standard. Incorporating the theoretical arguments and the empirical outputs, this study concludes with presenting possible implications of the Korean development experiences on the construction of the development strategies in the African countries.
