This descriptive comparative study was conducted to compare the relationships among self-esteem, self-efficacy, perceived health status and the performance of health promoting lifestyles for nursing and non-nursing students. The sample consisted of 246 nursing students and 166 non-nursing students at an evening class of junior college in T city. The data was collected by a self reporting questionnaire from March 2 to March 17, 1997 and analyzed by SPSS Win. 7.0 program for frequency, mean, percentage, t -test, ANOVA, and a Pearson correlation coefficient. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1. The results of the comparison between the two groups was not significantly different for self esteem and perceived health status, but significantly different for self-efficacy. Nursing students had higher scores on self -efficacy than non-nursing students(t=4.621. p<.05). 2. There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups concerning a health promoting lifestyle. Nursing students ($157.73{\pm}20.26$) had higher scores on total health promotion as well as its 8 subscales than non -nursing students ($048.15{\pm}21.51$,), (t=21.074, p<.001). On subscales, nursing students had the highest score in sanitary life(3.22) and the lowest score in professional health maintenance(1.54). Non -nursing students had the highest score in harmonious relationships(3.10) and the lowest score in professional health maintenance (1.48). 3. Performance in a health promoting lifestyle was significantly correlated with such demographic variables as age and grade for nursing students, and types of dwelling for non -nursing students. 4. Perceptions of good health have been positively correlated with health promoting lifestyles. Those persons who rated their health as good showed the highest score, followed by excellent ,average, poor in that order. 5. Performance in health promoting lifestyles was significantly correlated with self-esteem, self-efficacy and, perceived health status. The most important factor that affect performance in health promoting lifestyles was self -efficacy.

Punch에 나타난 심미주의 의상 연구:1870-1890

This study was counducted to identify a relationship between the aesthetic costume arising from an and-social minority movement towards the end of 19c, England on the one hand, and bustle and crinolette style which were in fashion at that time, on the other. The aesthetic comstume is studied with articles and cricatures in the magazien "Punch" which was famous for its harsh criticisms of society. Aesthetic elements from various sources were praised or sometimes cricatured by Punch. Aesthets pursued naturalness as is found in Greek costume in reaction to the gross modernised Victorian costume. To be specific, the aesthetes pursued 1)loose robe instead of corset with bustle or crinolette, 2)2nd/3rd dimentionally-coloured dyes instead of anyline in the costume. Liberty Department Store in London has planyed a very important role as a major supplier or aesthteic articles to the aesthetes.

카페인이 HRV에 미치는 영향과 내관 자침의 효과에 대한 예비연구 : 무작위 이중맹검시험

Objectives : This study was to investigate the short time effect of caffeine on heart rate variability(HRV) and the effect of Neiguan(PC6) acupuncture stimulation on HRV. Methods : 27 healthy adult volunteers were randomly allocated to two groups: Neiguan group (N=13) or placebo group (N=14). The study was carried out under a randomized double-blinded placebo-controlled trial method. Each group orally received the same tablets with 200 mg caffeine. After 1 hour, acupuncture was applied to the Neiguan(PC6) points for the Neiguan group, and for the placebo group was applied to a non-acupuncture point. Both groups were estimated with HRV 3 times, before and after caffeine ingestion, 20 minutes after acupuncture stimulation. Results : After taking caffeine, pulse rate, mean-HRV, and pNN50(the proportion derived by dividing NN50 by the total number of NN intervals) decreased, SDNN(standard deviation of all normal-to-normal (NN) intervals), RMSSD (the root square of successive differences), TP log, HF(high frequency), and HRV index was increased. There were significant changes to the autonomic nervous system after taking caffeine. There were no significant differences between the two groups after acupuncture at Neiguan. Conclusion : Caffeine could induce general activation of the autonomic nervous system. Neiguan acupuncture stimulation may not have significant influence on the autonomic nervous system.

약침과 한약의 복합 치료를 이용한 탕화상 환자 치험 1례

We report the case of a 65-year-old female with burn injury from scalds. She was observed with a burn injury of the right arm and leg that occurred 6 days before. She was treated with pharmacoacupuncture Soyeom, and herb medicine daily for 3 weeks. After Twenty days, burn wound size was reduced and tissue regeneration was accelerated. In conclusion, it is our belief that pharmacoacupuncture and herb medicine is effective to treat burn injury, and future studies will be required to ascertain this method on burn injury.

척수손상환자의 일상생활동작과 무력감에 관한 연구

Purpose: This study examined the relationship between the level of activity daily living and powerlessness of spinal cord injury patients'. Method: The subjects for the study consisted of 68 persons agreed above twenty below seventy had had spinal cord injury. The data were collected from November 1, 2003 to January 30, 2004. The instruments used for this study were ADL check List and Powerlessness Scale. The data were analysed by using SPSS computerlized program and included number, percentage, t-test and ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficient. Results: The mean of activity daily living was paraplegia $49.53{\pm}10.91$ and tetraplegia $25.65{\pm}13.24$. The mean of powerlessness was paraplegia $35.22{\pm}9.50$ and tetraplegia $37.55{\pm}9.01$. In the relationship between activity daily living and powerlessness were significant difference. Conclusion: in order to increase the level of activity daily living of rehabilization nurse should be helpful to provide them. Also, it could be identified that informational support was important, that is, the lesser the informational support, spinal cord injury patient don't feel the powerlessness.

신선불취단(神仙不醉丹) 가감방(加減方)의 숙취 예방효과에 대한 이중맹검 무작위배정 교차임상 예비연구

Objectives : This study investigated the effect of Sinseonbulchuidan (SBD-1) on hangover syndrome. We undertook this study to test whether SBD-1 is effective in preventing the signs and symptoms of alcohol-induced hangover. Methods : Fifteen healthy volunteers participated in this double-blind randomized crossover study. All participants received either SBD-1 or indistinguishable placebo capsules before alcohol consumption. The primary outcome measure was the difference in hangover severity scores between SBD-1 and placebo intervention. Secondary outcome measure was the difference in profile of mood states (POMS) between SBD-1 and placebo intervention. Results : After alcohol exposure, the overall symptom scores were significantly decreased in the SBD-1 group compared with those given a placebo. The mean scores for the hangover symptoms were high in the placebo group, and statistical significance was observed in 4 symptom scores (loss of appetite, stomachache, nausea, and total score). There were no differences in the POMS and cognitive performance test results between SBD-1 and placebo intervention. Conclusions : We conclude that the SBD-1 is effective in preventing the signs and symptoms of alcohol-induced hangover. Larger studies are required to confirm these findings.

디아스포라 작가에게 남겨진 고향의 기억: 부치 에메체타 작품을 중심으로

본 연구는 디아스포라 작가로서 아프리카의 나이지리아 출신인 부치 에메체타의 대표적인 작품을 통하여 여성 작가로서 에메체타가 아프리카의 전통사회와 서구의 도시적 가치관의 두 세계 속에서 느끼는 갈등의 근본적인 문제점을 파악하고자 한다. 작가의 대표작 『이류시민』과 『노예소녀』, 『모성의 기쁨』분석을 통하여 근본적인 문제점은 노예상태와 같은 여성에게 부과된 억압의 문제와 교육 혹은 교육을 통한 독립과 자아실현, 그에 수반되는 서구화가 여성의 삶에 미치는 영향, 이 세 가지로 요약할 수 있다. 이 세 가지 서로 상충되는 힘이 작품의 전체에서 드러나는 작가의 딜레마의 핵심이다. 여성으로서 자유와 자아추구를 얻기 위해서는 아프리카의 전통과 자신의 아프리카인의 정체성을 부인해야만하고 반대로 아프리카의 전통을 소중히 간직하려면 여성의 독립을 포기해야만 한다. 따라서 이 문제를 둘러싼 두 개의 가치관, 두 개의 세계가 작가의 딜레마이며 개별 작품에 나타난 여성 주인공들의 내면의 사고구조와 영국에 의해 식민지가 된 나이지리아인들의 내면적인 식민지화의 문제도 함께 드러난다. 이 지점으로부터 향후 두 세계의 차이에서부터 발생하는 억압의 서사와 언어를 포함하는 혼종성에 관한 연구가 이어질 것이다. The purpose of this study is to examine the fundamental frustration and deep anguish represented in Buchi Emecheta’s major works. As a diaspora writer Emecheta feels the conflict between two worlds-the traditional Igbo culture, Nigeria and westernized London life. Through scrutinizing the details in Second Class Citizen, The Slave Girl, and The Joys of Motherhood, I found there are many elements that torture the life of young girls and even wives and mothers. It is a traditional patriarchal society and slave-like status in physical world as well as mentally that smother the very existence of women. Also this situation runs parallel to colonialized Nigerian society. These abusive and dismissive men took advantage of passive, obedient women to the end. That is the point where Emecheta put great emphasis on women’s education and seeking their own identity. At the same time that is the point of her dilemma of being an educated in western world and an immigrant from colonized Africa. From this point I can pursue the next task of examining the hybridity including language and oppressed narrative stuck out from gap.

『내려가라 모세야』: “장부” 읽기와 “황야” 읽기를 통한 대위법적 효과

William Faulkner’s Go Down, Moses traces the history of 6 generations of McCaslin family in the South from before the Civil War to the beginning of the Second World War. At the same time in this novel the author seems to try to get to a kind of compromise about racial problem through Ike McCaslin. In this thesis I try to explore the psychological state of Ike while reading “ledgers”. In the “ledgers” he, at first, wanted to discover the achievements of his ancestors and glory of the Old South. On the contrary what he found was the history of sins and wrongdoings such as incest, miscegenation, and horrible slavery. Burdened with his grandfather’s amoral behavior, Ike finally decided to repudiate his inherited plantation. Since then he tried to compensate for his ancestor’s evils in his own way. “Wilderness,” the symbol of nature and of immutable Truth is ahistoical, asexual and timeless space where Ike can find the same aesthetic beauty as in Keats’s “Ode on a Grecian Urn.” But in his thoughts and actions there is much possibility of subversion. He who once tried to make up for his ancestor’s sins and evils by giving up his heritage, came to provide a means for Roth to do the same sin after 50 years. At the same time Ike found he became an assailant as well as a sufferer when he met a black woman from the North. In conclusion, through analytic examination I found some contrapuntal effect derives from two readings and disjunctive structure of 7 stories.
