The tools with which the deceased transfer their property to their heirs have varied. How to define free gifts in calculating legal reserve of inheritance in these various property successions is an important issue. In this Essay, I direct attention to the concept of ‘free gifts’ stipulated in Article 1113 of the Civil Act. I noticed the ways of calculating the amount of legal reserve of inheritance in which multiple parties participates especially in trusts. A trust is a legal relationship involving multiple parties so it has a similar aspect to a contract in favour of third person. But the beneficiary of the trust who is often called equitable owner in common law system has a stronger position than that of a simple creditor. Therefore it should be deemed that the value of the beneficial interest has been donated directly by the truster to the beneficiary when a property is transferred using a trust. Inter-vivos trust as will substitute is often substantively a gift mortis causa granting beneficial interest in trust to a beneficiary. As such, it is reasonable to include the value of the beneficial interest in the base property in calculating reserved share. And it should be allowed for the holder of revised share to claim for the return of it against the beneficiary by way of claiming the transfer of beneficial interest. In the case of trusts established by will, the beneficiary’s interest is calculated as a gift from the truster to the beneficiary. Therefore the value of the beneficial interest should be treated the same as the gift for the special beneficiary in calculating legal reserve of inheritance.
1.0 L T-GDI FFV 엔진의 최적 점화시기에 관한 실험적 연구

There is a growing demand for alternative fuels to replace traditional fossil fuels, which are at risk of depletion. Among them, bioethanol is attracting attention as an alternative to gasoline. The purpose of this study is to improve the performance of the 1.0 L T-GDI FFV engine when using E30 and E50 fuels under most frequently used operating conditions. Engine test results showed that the stock spark timings were already set to MBTs under lower load conditions of 60 % (amount of air) or less. On the other hand, it was found that the stock spark timings were not set to MBTs under higher load conditions of 80 % to 120 %. By optimizing the ignition timings under these higher load conditions, engine performance has improved significantly. For example, torque and BSFC improved up to 10.8 % and 9.6 %, respectively. The authors anticipate that the results of this research should be used to improve the performance of the FFV engine.

To realize fully autonomous driving, autonomous driving systems must be able to operate even in the event of failure of certain components. As an essential component for autonomous driving, this study is focused on the camera sensor failure in an object detection system, in which redundant cameras are utilized to develop a fail-operational perception system. Although redundant sensors are widely applied, only a few studies have focused on the timing analysis and optimization of the fault handling time interval (FHTI). As defined in the second edition of the ISO 26262 standard, the FHTI is the time between the failure of a component and the instant at which the system recovers to a safe state through safety mechanisms. Our safety mechanism minimizes the system FHTI by reducing the two delay components. First, we reduce the fault reaction time by adopting a backup camera in the hot standby mode. Second, we implement an optimal failure check mechanism that tests the status of the primary camera with an optimal period that can minimize the worst-case fault detection time, considering both the camera frame rate and object detection frame rate. The proposed fail-operational system is implemented through the Darknet object detection framework. The experimental results demonstrate that the FHTI is reduced from 391.17 ms to 39.23 ms, corresponding to a reduction of by approximately 90% compared to that for a baseline fail-operational architecture.

The FFV engine technology that uses ethanol is emerging as a new paradigm for an alternative energy powertrain. In this study, the combustion and performance characteristics of a 1.0 L TGDI-FFV engine were analyzed when gasoline-ethanol fuels with various blending ratios were used. Under the test conditions, engine performance improved after optimizing the spark timing. In particular, improvements in the torque of E30 and E50 fuels were 5.3 % and 7.8 %, respectively, without affecting combustion stability. The ignition timing of the E30 and E50 fuels was further advanced from the stock timing, reducing BSFC by about 3.6 % for E30 fuel, and 6.8 % for E50 fuel. Optimization of the combustion characteristics was possible with the ignition timing control to MBT for the FFV engine, resulting in improved torque and BSFC. Consequently, the authors suggest the necessity of improving the spark timing control strategy for the FFV engine.

The ongoing pursuit of reducing CO₂ by using alternative fuels is a driving force in the production of flex fuel vehicles (FFVs) worldwide. In the case of gasoline direct injection(GDI) FFV engines, however, the mixture quality in the cylinder directly affects the combustion characteristics. In addition, engine performance significantly deteriorates due to the poor mixture quality. In this study, numerical analysis was performed on the vaporization of fuels in the cylinder with varying engine speeds and loads. The results of the numerical analysis showed that the vaporization rate of ethanol in the cylinder is lower than that of gasoline due to the differences in fuel properties. In the case of gasoline, the vaporization process is completed before the spark onset and there is no significant influence on the combustion characteristics. In the case of ethanol, it is considered possible for particulate matters to be produced massively due to incomplete vaporization under the conditions of increased loads and engine speeds. This result is intended to be utilized as a basic data for the fuel injection control strategy in the development of FFV engines.
자활사업 참여자의 음주문제, 참여기간, 자활의지 간 관계

자활사업 참여자의 음주문제는 지역자활센터에서 근무하는 실무자들 사이에서 공유되고 있는 이슈임에도 불구하고 사회복지연구에서 큰 주목을 받지 못하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 자활사업 참여자를 대상으로 음주문제와 자활의지의 관계를 탐색하는 것이다. 경기도에 거주하는 281명의 자활사업 참여자가 본 연구에 참여하였다. 음주문제와 자활(참여기간, 자활의지)의 관계를 분석한 이변량 분석에서는 통계적으로 유의미한 결과가 나타나지 않았으나, 자활사업 참여기간과 자활의지의 관계는 음주문제 유무에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 음주문제가 없는 자활사업 참여자들 사이에서 참여기간과 자활의지는 음(-)의 관계를 보인 반면, 음주문제가 있는 자활사업 참여자들 사이에서 두 변수는 양(+)의 관계를 보였고 그 관계는 유의미하였다. 즉 음주문제가 있는 자활사업 참여자들은 자활사업 참여기간이 길어질수록 자활의지가 다소 강해지는 긍정적인 결과를 낳았다. 음주문제에 따른 자활사업 참여기간과 자활의지에 대한 분석결과는 기존 연구와 다른 새로운 결과라고 볼 수 있다. Although self-sufficiency program participants’ alcohol problem is widely recognized among social workers in the field, it has not been received much attention. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between alcohol problem and self sufficiency among the participants. A total of 281 participants were participated in this study. Significant relationships between alcohol problem and self sufficiency were not found in bivariate analysis. However, the moderating effect of alcohol problem on the relationship between the length of participation and willingness for self sufficiency was statistically significant. Among the participants with alcohol problem, the length of participation was positively related to willingness for self sufficiency. The result on the moderating effect of alcohol problem on the relationship between the length of participation and willingness for self sufficiency has been never mentioned in previous studies.
