It was reported that the etiologies of recurrent spontaneous abortion are immunologic factors, endocrinologic problems, anatomical abnormalities, genetic abnormalities, infection, and unexplained factors. Among those etiologic factors, genetic abnormalities occur in about 5% of the couples who experience recurrent spontaneous abortions, and most common parental chromosomal abnormality contributing to recurrent abortion is balanced translocation. The advent of in vitro fertilization (IVF), the development of skills associated with the handling of human embryo, and an explosion of knowledge in molecular biology have opened the possibility of early diagnosis of genetic disease in preimplantation embryos. Therefore preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is indicated for couples, infertile or not, at risk of transmitting a genetic disease. A case of successful pregnancy and term delivery by PGD using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) technique in patient with recurrent spontaneous abortion due to balanced translocation is presented with brief review of literatures.
윤하중에 의한 강바닥판 교면포장의 종방향균열 관련 수치해석법 개발

두께가 얇아짐에 따라 강바닥판은 윤하중의 작용으로 국부적으로 매우 큰 변형이 발생하고, 이것은 교면포장에 종방향으로 구조적인 균열을 야기 시킬 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 강바닥판의 윤하중 국부해석을 위하여 가로보의 휨 및 비틀림강성을 엄밀히 고려할 수 있는 평면쉘 스트립요소, 프리즘요소, 그리고 이 두요소를 연결하는 링크요소로 구성된 개선된 유한대판법을 제시하고자 한다. 이 방법의 효용성을 검증하기 위하여, 강판 플레이트 거더교의 일부를 해석예제로 선택하여 연직처짐 및 교축직각방향 변형율 결과를 쉘요소, 솔리드요소, 그리고 코히시브요소를 이용한 ABAQUS 해석결과와 비교, 검토하였다. Longitudinally structural cracks are sometimes observed in the pavement on steel plate deck bridges because traffic truck loadings can cause large local deformations of the thin deck plate stiffened by longitudinal and transverse beams. In this study, an improved finite strip method using flat-shell strip, prism, and link elements is presented to investigate local deformations of steel decks with pavements in which flexural and torsional stiffness effects of thin floor beams are rigorously taken into account. A simplified deck model extracted from steel plate-girder bridges is analyzed using the developed FSM and the commercial FE program, ABAQUS and also, their numerical results are compared and discussed.
노년 세대를 위한 자서전 제작의 사례 연구 - 자서전 작가의 목소리를 중심으로 -

This study analyzed the experiences of autobiography production for the elderly, focusing on the voice of the autobiography writer. Specifically, by interviewing four writers belonging to a social enterprise specializing in autobiography production, the difficulties experienced during the interview and writing stages of autobiography production were identified, and the value of the autobiography production process according to the writer were explored. At the interview stage, the writer explores and shares the information necessary for autobiography production with the author through questions and answers. The writer faces the author’s “short words” and “long words” in the interview, which hinders obtaining sufficient information for autobiography. Further, in this process, the writer confirms the value of the healing and self-understanding of the interview. Conversely, at the writing stage, the writer produces an autobiography based on the author’s life, which was grasped through interviews. In writing, it is difficult for writers to represent the author’s “truth” as the author's “voice”. The writer attempts to reproduce the author’s voice by “writing dryly, avoiding lies” or “recording all the words faithfully”. In this process, the writer confirms the value of recognition and communication in writing. Finally, this study suggests four implications for the status of the autobiographic genre, identity of the autobiography writer, procedural knowledge for autobiography production, and application of autobiography production.

The end-milling force behaviour is very complex and it is related to a de-noising phenomenon, so it is very difficult to detect and diagnose this static cutting force phenomenon. This paper presents a new method of filtering of end-milling force in end-milling operation using filter bank technique, based on the wavelet transform. In this paper by comparing the history of end-milling force using wavelet filtering the fundamental end-milling property of the wavelet transform is well reviewed and analyzed. This result of wavelet transform using filter bank shows the possible static prediction of end-milling force with severe dynamic properties such as chatter in end-milling operation.
Gripping 동작이 가능한 다축관절 finger의 개발

The disabled are increasing because of distal blood-flow disorders due to adult diseases and diabetes as well as of high industrialization. Since a part of the hand which plays a critical role in our body can be missing by the disaster mentioned above, there is a great need for artificial hands. This study focused on designing artificial hands which enabled gripping with fingers by multi link, instead of the stationary finger. To improve the efficiency of the function, the worm gear was used for the first knuckle and the shape of 4Bar was used for the second knuckle. The rotation angle of the developed finger is a multi joint system that is up to 90° in flexion, which enables precise gripping, compared to a the finger that is up to 30° in flexion. The convenience and efficiency of the use is maximized by using Planetary gear, Meduction gear ration of which is 57:1, the efficiency of the motor is approximately 59% and the weight of each finger is 2.5g that is lightweight.

It is necessary to develope the functional finger prosthesis with multi-axis joints which is used for pinching and griping. Also, to analyze the function of the thumb and index finger having an important role in the function of the finger prosthesis is essential too. Nowadays the finger prostheses including the electronic prosthesis is used to pinch a simple product. However it does not satisfy the requirement of various functions of the disabled. There are several robot hands with many degree of freedom, although it is not light weighted and minimum volume. A study of the finger prosthesis is required to overcome the problem of weight and volume. The finger prosthesis developed in this study can flex up to about 90° in the metacarpal phalangeal joint and the proximal inter phalangeal joint and the distal inter phalangeal joint which can't be achieved the grip motion before was developed. The weight of the prosthesis is optimized to minimize and this developed prosthesis can be used conveniently.

There are many modelling methods using theoretical and experimental data. Recently, fractal interpolation methods have been widely used to estimate and analyze various data. Due to the chaotic nature of dynamic roundness profile data in roundness some desirable method must be used for the analysis which is natural to time series data. Fractal analysis used in this paper is within the scope of the fractal interpolation and fractal dimension. Also, two methods for computing the fractal dimension has been introduced which can obtain the dimension of typical dynamic roundness profile data according to the number of data points in which the fixed data are generally lower than 200 data points. This fractal analysis result shows a possible prediction of roundness profile that has some different roundness profile in round shape operation.

It is the essential point of design in this paper to make the joints of the index finger which plays an important role in the movable three-finger hand prosthesis in detail and complete the function of pinching and gripping. The previous prostheses had a problem in using because the role of index fingers of them was simply to pinch objects. The reason was that prostheses had poor flexion and extension of MP joint, PIP joint and DIP joint. The index finger designed in this paper features the same range of motions of flexion and extension as the human index fingers. Moreover, it is designed with small size, volume and weight to move as precisely as the human hand does unlike the robotic prosthesis not considering the weight and volume. The function of the finger is a part of the prodcut developed in KOREC (Korea Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Engineering Center).
