JPEG2000을 위한 스칼라양자화 및 컨텍스트 추출부 IP 설계 및 구현
정재형,홍성훈 전남대학교 전자통신기술연구소 2002 전자통신기술논문지 Vol.5 No.1
With the increasing use of multimedia technologies, image compression requires higher performances as well as new feature. To address this need in the specific area of still image encoding, a new standard is currently being developed, the JPEG2000. In this paper^(2), we propose scalar quantization and context extractior IP's architecture for JPEG2000 design as well as design and verify the IP's of its functional blocks. IP of each block is performed the software simulation to verity the validity of implemental structure, and then designed a HDL code according to 'RTL Coding Guideline' presented by SIPAC(System Integration & Intellectual Property Authoring Center). The designed IP's are implemented and verified on the Xillinx million gate FPGA test board and are fabricated to IDEC MPW chip by using Hynix 0.35㎛ library.
여성관객성과 양성애텍스트 (Bi-Textuality) : < 현기증 > 논의를 중심으로 On 'Vertigo' Debate
정재형 한국영화교육학회 2000 영화교육연구 Vol.2 No.-
Laura Mulvey is the first scholar who had shown a seminal essay about an analysis which is male visual construction and domination over women's image as an reflection of patriarchal society in classical hollywood cinema. Through articulating 'Vertigo', 'Marnie', and 'Rear Window', she said that audience sees it when male protagonist sees and that the gaze fluctuating between voyeurism and fetishistic hallucination is the pivot of plot. 'Vertigo' is constructed as a male dominated narrative. Mulvey interprets signification of male psychology in fim with negative meaning in terms of feministic point of view. It is based upon the presupposition that male previledge and opperession on women in social situation is mirrored in film directly. These feministic crical view has been popularized in the film theory for a number of years, and the theory is taken by many scholars as an usful, influential tool for textual analysis. However, this trends are so problematic in the development of recognition of man and woman in screen role, which is so deeply deteriorated under the binary system of man and woman. And the problem isn't on the appreciation of film itself as a male-centered work, but is on the theory of psychoanalysis Mulvey relies. Freudian theory is somewhat out of date, it is more changeable to interpret the text for various directions apt to modern days. Instead of Freudian, Lacanian psychoanalytic theory, it is possible to accept Jungian analytical psychology for reinterpreting unfixed gender concepts. Freudian psychoanalysis has a limit in finding an unconsciousness as a personal unconsciousness, in contrast with it Jungian analytical psychology proves the unconsciousness to the deep collective unconsciousness common to all human being. I would like to adapt Jungian psychology to the present master theory psychoanalysis with reevaluation of gender/sexuality in cinema. Jung is basically for androgyny, rot bi-sexuality. The focus of this essay is to clarify the text androgyniously, not bi-sexually.
Patch-based Stereo Direct Visual Odometry Robust to Illumination Changes
정재형,허세종,박찬국 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2019 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.17 No.3
In this paper, we present a patch-based direct visual odometry (DVO) that is robust to illumination changes at a sequence of stereo images. Illumination change violates the photo-consistency assumption and degrades the performance of DVO, thus, it should be carefully handled during minimizing the photometric error. Our approach divides an incoming image into several buckets, and patches inside each bucket own its unique affine illumination parameter to account for local illumination changes for which the global affine model fails to account, then it aligns small patches placed at temporal images. We do not distribute affine parameters to each patch since this yields huge computational load. Furthermore, we propose a prior weight as a function of the previous pose in a constant velocity model which implies that the faster a camera moves, the more likely it maintains the constant velocity model. Lastly, we verify that the proposed algorithm outperforms the global affine illumination model at the publicly available micro aerial vehicle and the planetary rover dataset which exhibit irregular and partial illumination changes due to the automatic exposure of the camera and the strong outdoor sunlight, respectively.
