Icons appear to conduct both its common function as an icon and an extra role on Social Network Service where unique operation traits are seen. The framework of this research is composed of 2 questionnaires. After the function of sensibility icons, which are collected from SNS, is defined through the first questionnaire to experts, the feasibility of carrying out general functions by those sensibility icons is examined through the second questionnaire to the public. The result of the first step reveals that effects of the sensibility icons on SNS are promoting curiosity, enjoyment, intimacy, preference and emotional communication. The outcome of the next step, which was intended to see if the sensibility icons are perceived as they are and play the generic role of icons as well, indicates that sensibility icons and normal ones have a gap in terms of the functional capacity. Hence, the conclusion of this article suggests the need of research and development of sensibility icon designs whose role fulfills the extra purpose and satisfies the function of general icons.
