Research on Energy Regeneration of a Hydraulic Excavator Boom System

Energy saving of hydraulic excavator is very important. Regeneration of potential energy is an effective solution to save energy in hydraulic excavator. This paper proposes a new hydraulic circuit for the boom system of a hydraulic excavator. The hydraulic motor and generator are used in this system for energy regeneration. To decrease energy consumption, a proportional flow control valve is used in the energy regeneration part. The control strategy is proposed to improve the energy saving efficiency and control performance of the system. Finally, a test bench was built and tested. The system was able to regenerate energy at a wide range of velocities and the performance of system was improved.

Hydraulic excavator energy-saving is important to relieve source shortage and protect the environment. Conventional throttle governing systems have low efficiency and influence on the speed of boom cylinder. In addition, the capacities of both the hydraulic motor and the generator should be large enough to avoid overload. Based on comprehensive considerations, this paper presents a new energy regeneration system that combines the advantages of a generator and a hydraulic accumulator. At last, the model of the proposed system has been built by AMESim software. The simulation result shows that the proposed system has a higher energy regeneration potential than the conventional system and the generator energy regeneration system (GERS). The energy regeneration efficiency is 17.5%.

On/off 솔레노이드와 달리 비례 솔레노이드는 밸브의 작동 구간 내에서 일정한 흡인력을 발생시킨다. 이는 전자 비례 감압 밸브에서 상당히 중요한 특성이다. 흡인력의 균일도는 주로 내부형상의 설계 변수에 영향을 받는다. 형상 설계 파라미터는 그 수가 많기 때문에 최적의 파라미터값은 시행착오법으로 찾기에는 매우 복잡하고 오랜 시간이 걸린다. 이에 다양한 최적화 기법을 적용하여 최적의 설계 파라미터 값을 찾기 위한 많은 연구가 수행되었거나 진행 중이다. 본 논문에서는 유한 요소 분석 및 인공 신경망 모델을 통해 최적의 설계 파라미터 값을 유도해 내었고, 시험 장치를 만들어 시뮬레이션의 결과에 대한 타당성을 입증하였다.

Fuel cell hybrid electric excavator is an attractive alternative to reduce the emission and noise. This study focuses on the modeling the PEM fuel cell excavator with super capacitor to increase efficiency. For the analysis and simulation, the governing equations of the PEM system, the supercapacitor was derived. This simulation was performed in a co-simulation environment, which is a combination of MATLAB/Simulink and AMESim software. The simulation results were presented to show the performance of the system.

In modern society, energy saving issues of industrial vehicles are very important for both economically and environmentally. Energy savings using the potential energy of forklifts must be one of the very good solutions. The basic concept is to run the generator using the flow rate discharged from the cylinder when the fork down while carrying a heavy object, and recharge the battery. This study aims to control the flow rate through the use of variable motor to achieve higher energy savings. Using AMEsim, compare the model with the fixed motor and the model with the variable motor and analyze it through the efficiency map to suggest a strategy with better energy efficiency.
