The purposes of this study are to identify the MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) of antibiotics (Cephradine, Metampicillin-Na, Cefotetan-Na) for biomass in activated sludge process and to develop the pretreatment methods for pharmaceutical wastewater containing the antibiotics higher than MIC. To accomplish these purposes, bench scale rector was operated at various conditions. An elevation of pH by using Ca(OH)₂ and an oxidation with H₂O₂ were selected out the pretreatment of wastewater. As a result, the MIC of each antibiotics for microorganism in activated sludge process was as follows; Cephradine 50㎎/ℓ, Metampicillin-Na 70㎎/ℓ, Cefotetan-Na 10㎎/ℓ. In case of pretreatment with H₂O₂, the reaction rate was much slower than that with Ca(OH)₂. Moreover, Ca(OH)₂ is more economical and convenient in practice than H₂O₂. When the using of Ca(OH)₂ as pretreatment, three kinds of antibiotics used in this study were nearly destroyed within 2 hours at pH 12.

The main objective of this study was 1) to define the effects of operating variations on digester performance and 2) to define the effects of anaerobic digestion on sludge dewaterability. For this purpose, laboratory scale high-rate anaerobic digesters were designed and operated under various conditions. Feed strength, feed composition, and solids detention time were chosen as primary control variables, and each was varied in separate experimental sets while the others were held at a standard value. Digestability of sewage sludge was insensitive to the change of feed strength and solids detention time, but quite sensitive to the ratio of activated sludge in feed sludge. Digestion generally improved dewaterability, but often in complicated ways. For example, a small fraction of activated sludge in feed sludge led to a great improvement in dewaterability than no activated sludge, but digestion of 100% activated sludge led to worse dewaterability. Increased detention time lessened the improvement and other variables had lesser effects on dewaterability.
A Huge Malignant Gastric Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor in a Young Patient

Malignant gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are rare neoplasms originating from the gastrointestinal tract that rarely occur in patients below 40 years of age. To our knowledge, there have been no previous reports of satellite and metastatic nodules in GIST. We present a case of a young patient with a huge malignant gastric GIST accompanied by spontaneous bleeding and satellite and metastatic nodules, successfully treated surgically, without preoperative chemotherapy administration. A 28-year-old man was admitted to Haeundae Paik Hospital with melena. A huge bulging gastric mass with ulceration and bleeding was observed on endoscopy. A subepithelial lesion on the stomach body, abutting the pancreatic body and tail, with regional lymph node enlargement was confirmed by EUS and CT. Radical total gastrectomy was performed, the invasion surrounding the pancreatic tail and spleen were surgically dissected, and enlarged lymph nodes around the celiac trunk and the common hepatic artery were removed. The pathology results showed a malignant GIST with two satellite nodules and a metastatic tumor nodule at the left paracardial lymph node site. After complete resection of the malignant GIST, adjuvant chemotherapy with imatinib was initiated. Follow-up CT and endoscopy performed 6 months after surgery confirmed no recurrence of the disease.
간경변에 합병된 원발성 간암 절제술에서 간의 혈류차단이 혈전탄성묘사도에 미치는 영향

저자들은 본원에서 92년 8월부터 93년 12월까지 간경변에 합병된 원발성 간암으로 간절제술을 시행받은 24명의 환자를 간절제시 간의 혈류차단 조건에 따라 두 군으로 나누어 간의 혈류차단 조건이 혈전탄성묘사도에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 간의 혈류를 완전 차단하였던 11예를 A군으로 하였고 부분적으로 간의 혈류를 차단하였던 13예를 B군으로 하였다. 혈류 차단 전과, 혈류 차단 후, 수술이 끝날 때 시행하였던 혈전탄성도의 coagulation time, clot formation rate, maximum amplitude, fibrinolysis index를 비교한 결과 간혈류를 완전 차단하였던 경우가 간혈류를 부분 차단하였던 군에 비하여 섬유소 용해(fibrinolysis)가 더 의미있게 발생하였다. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of tonal and partial clamping of hepatic blood flow during hepatic resection on thromboelasography (TEG). Methods and Materials : 24 cirrhotic hepatoma patients underwent hepatic resection. Authors divided 24 patients into two groups: Group A included 11 cirrhotic hepatoma patients, whose hepatic blood flows were clamped completely during hepatic resection: Group B included 13 patients, whose hepatic blood flows were clamped partially. We took the throm-boelastography of blood samples of the patients at 3 different stages during hepatic resections. The first samples were tested after induction of anesthesia as a control, the second samples were tested after clamping hepatic blood flow, and the third blood samples were tested after declamping hepatic blood flow TEG parameters[coagulation time(R+K), alpha angle, maximal amplitude(MA), 30 minute fibrinolysis index(A30/MA), 60 minute fibrinolysis index(A60/MA)] were measured and analyzed. Results : After clamping, MA was significantly decreased in both groups and A30/MA, A60/MA were significantly decreased in Group A. Conclusion : Reduction of A30/MA and A60/MA usually means fibrinolysis. So in the cases whose hepatic blood flow were clamped completely(group A), significant fibrinolysis was developed after the clamping. We suggests that TEG may be useful for early detection and management of fibrinolysis during hepatic resection.

본 논문에서는 고성능 H264/AVC 복호기 설계를 위해 디블록킹 필터의 수행시간 단축과 저전력 설계를 위 한 필터링 순서 및 효율적인 메모리 구조를 제안하고 5단 파이프라인으로 구성된 필터의 설계에 대해 기술한다. 디블 록킹 필터는 블록 경계에서 발생하는 왜곡을 제거하여 영상의 화질을 개선시키지만 하나의 경계에 여러 번 필터링을 수행하여 많은 메모리 접근과 반복되는 연산과정이 수반된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 메모리 접근과 필터 수행사이클을 최소화하는 새로운 펼터 순서를 제안하고 반복되는 연산의 효율적 관리를 위해 파이프라인 구조를 적용하였다 제안하 는 디블록킹 필터는 메모리 읽기, 임계값 계산, 전처리 연산, 필터 연산, 및 메모리 쓰기로 구성된 5단 파이프라인으로 구현되어 순차적인 필터 연산에 병렬적 처리가 가능하며 각 단계에 클록 게이팅을 적용하여 하드웨어 자원에 불필요 한 전력을 감소시켰다. 또한, 적은 내부 트랜스포지션 버퍼를 사용하면서 필터 링 순서를 효율적으로 개선하여 필터 수 행을 위한 메모리 접근과 수행사이클을 감소시켰다. 기존 필터들과 수행사이클을 비교한 결과, 제안하는 구조의 설계 가 비교적 적은 트랜스포지션 버퍼를 사용했으며 최소 20%의 수행사이클이 감소함을 확인하였다.
