Osteomas mainly affect the frontal and ethmoid sinuses, and are usually asymptomatic. When enlarged, they can give rise to intracranial manifestations and life-threatening complications. A 41-year-old man presented with severe headache and drowsy mentality after blowing his nose. Computed tomography showed air bubbles in the cisterns and the ventricle and around the osteoma in the frontal sinus, suggesting that the mass was associated with entry of the air into the cranial cavity. Through a frontal sinusotomy, the cauliflower-like osteoma was found to be protruding intracranially through the frontal base and the overlying meninges. By using skull base technique, the osteoma was resected radically and the dural defect was repaired with autografts. This rare condition should be urgently treated in the event of acute deterioration. The literature will be reviewed regarding the management of cranial base osteomas and their complications.

This research presents a modeling and a manufacturing method of screw type flow meter. This paper introduces the efficient design and manufacturing method of screw type flow meter using reverse engineering and test technology. The methods introduced this paper utilize the reverse engineering that is increasing accuracy of modeling and manufacturing of reverse model. And then it can be used in performance test with hydraulic test equipment. Hence this can be used in the basic document for development of the quite accurate flow meter.

This study deals with the improvement of efficiency in the aspect of accuracy and time reduction in the reverse engineering. For this, two main strategies are applied in this paper. One is the path smoothness strategy, the other is the collision free strategy. Path smoothness strategy adopts modified B-spline algorithm that is constructed with altered control vertices. It allows improvement of accuracy of reverse engineering with faired surface. Collision free strategy adopts configuration space algorithm defined by two parameters which determine the probe posture. It allows a time reduction of reverse engineering without collision. So this two strategies are named, MC-Space algorithm.

In order to polish complicated-shaped inner surfaces of models, a new polishing method with magnetic congelation liquid was invented, we called this name MAGIC polishing tool. This tool is magnetic fluid at high temperature, can be solidified by cooling. The distribution of abrasives in the liquid can be controlled by magnetic field. Therefore we can make a special polishing tool which has well arranged abrasives inside after cooling. In order to know the fundamental polishing properties of this new polishing tool, brass plate was polished. The polishing tool was pressed and rotated against the brass plate in specified polishing time. After many experiments, it was found that this type of polishing tool provided enough removal rate and surface roughness.

Recently, with the development of high speed machining technology for difficult-cutting materials, to improve the cutting performance of cutting tool, fine surface finish of complex shape tools using magnetic polishing technology is in high demand. This study is, therefore, discussed and compared the cutting characteristics of polished tools by the adopted various magnetic polishing moving types a point of view the cutting forces and the tool life. Moreover, the practicality of magnetic polished tools in the wide range cutting conditions is investigated. From obtained results, It is confirmed that the CW(clockwise) revolution and oscillation type as the polishing moving type is proper and magnetic polished tool shows the excellence in high cutting speed range.

Recently, many studies are being conducted to realize high quality polishing technology, but because of high dependence on field experience and insufficient research for ultra-precision polishing technology, it is difficult to establish standardization of polishing conditions. The purpose of this study is to determine high-efficiency superfinishing conditions which are applicable in the field of machining. To achieve this, we have a developed a superfinishing device and conducted a series of polishing experiments for mechanical materials such as SM45C, Brass, Al7075, and Ti, from the perspective of oscillation speed, the rotational speed of the workpiece, contact roller hardness, contact pressure, and feed rate. From the experimental results, it was confirmed that the polishable superfinishing conditions range and efficient feed rate of polishing film can be etermined.
항공기 Bulkhead의 Chord와 Side Fitting 부품의 밀링 가공 및 변형에 관한 연구

Among bulkhead components (the structure that maintains the rigidity of an aircraft body), the chord (which supports the shear load between the surrounding structure and the web) and the side fitting (which connects and vertically reinforces the body and web) are titanium alloy parts with a high aspect ratio. These parts occupy the critical load path position of the aircraft and are required for large one-piece construction. This study verifies the milling process and deformation of the chord and side fitting. First, the milling characteristics of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy were simulated and the simulated cutting resistance was verified via comparison with experimental result. Next, the effects of the milling conditions on Ti-6Al-4V cutting resistance and cutting temperature were determined in a Taguchi analysis of the signal-to-noise ratio and variance. Finally, the deformation degrees of the BL0 chord and side fitting were determined using the simulated cutting resistance and cutting temperature.

Recently, the deburring process which is last process of manufacture is one of the important process for complete product. The manual deburring process can cause not only higher error rate but also irregular shape and quality of product. Therefore, Shape Guided Automatic Deburring Machine has been developed to resolve the above problems. But the Shape Guided Automatic Deburring Machine have been applied only to produce a circular product. Therefore, this machine is difficult to apply to products of various shapes. To solve this problem, we would like to develop Generalized Shape Guided Automatic Deburring Machine applicable to various shapes. To this end, we have done the modeling and design using CATIA program and have performed machine simulation.
