This paper tries to examine the different level of explicitness in texts translated from the same source text by comparing two English-Korean translations of George Orwell s Animal Farm . The rationale for the analysis was to prove the assumption that the level of explicitness in translated texts differs depending upon by whom and when the translation was done and what the purpose was. The paper analyzed two translations, one published in 1948 and the other in 2005 by different translators focusing on the use of pronoun this. Based on the comparative analysis, the paper concludes that the level of explicitness in translated texts differs in accordance with such factors as the purpose of translation, and by whom and when the translation was carried out.

The purpose of this study is to introduce a modified CPS(Creativity Problem Solving) procedure as a new method for comparative analysis of creative techniques such as SIT(Systematic Inventive Thinking) and Brainstorming(BS) techniques. For this, a new sports game is employed as a case study. The results show that the ideas from SIT are more creative in terms of originality and practicality than those of BS. Several considerations for effective practical use of the proposed method are discussed in this study.

The need for integrating the arts and literature into the engineering education has been emphasized to cultivate the creative talent in recent years. However, there have been few studies to investigate how the arts and literature can be linked with nurturing creative talent in the engineering fields. In this paper, it is examined that inventive thinking principles for creative ideation in the engineering fields can be applied to the arts and literature. For the purpose, creative works in the arts and literature, which can be explained by the five thinking tools of SIT(Systematic Inventive Thinking), are collected. The result shows that engineering and the arts share common thinking patterns.
초등미술교육에서 이야기가 있는 사진찍기: 상징과 알레고리적 의미를 중심으로

초등사진교육에서 ‘이야기가 있는 사진 찍기’는 현장에서 많이 채택하고 있는 주제이다. 주변을 관찰하고, 대상을 정하여 촬영하고, 이에 대한 의미부여와 감상까지 연결되는 수업의 일환이다. 그러나 현장에서 사진수업은 일반적으로 눈에 띄고, 관심 있는 대상을 촬영하여, 그것에 스토리를 부여하는 방법으로 진행되는 것이 다반사다. 그러다보니 자신이 촬영한 사진이미지에 개인적 이야기를 하는 경우가 대부분이어서 사진이 갖고 있는 표면적인 면, 즉 외시적(denotation)인 측면만 강조되는 수업이 주류를 이루고 있었다. 저학년 수준에서는 이런 수업도 의미가 있으나, 고학년의 사진수업에서는 촬영뿐만 아니라 사진을 이해하고 해석하는 의미론적 수업도 필요하리라 생각된다. 따라서 사진이 갖고 있는 함축적 내지는 내포적(connotation) 의미를 다양하게 표현할 수 있는 ‘알레고리적 사진 찍기’를 제안하고자 한다. 알레고리는 일종의 비유에 해당하는 수사법으로, 상징과 비견되는 개념이다. 즉 상징은 사진 속에서 보편적이고, 일차적인 의미를 생성하는 반면, 알레고리는 숨겨진 혹은 다의적인 차원에서 다뤄진다. 따라서 본고에서는 상징과 알레고리를 통한 사진 찍기와 해석 방법론, 그리고 선택한 사진을 의인화 하여 새로운 의미를 부여하는 단계까지의 과정을 고찰하기로 한다. In the elementary photography education, “Taking pictures with stories” is the process that must be done obviously from the selection of subject and object to the shooting and the interpretation. Though a curriculum is run in the field in this way, it is difficult to put a story into the art with images. And it is true that there are difficulties and limits of teaching. So, this researcher will deal with not only the meaning structure methodology of symbol and allegory but also the problems of interpretation and criticism to this as the methodology containing a story in the photograph. Especially, as the illusion about totality and unity has been weakening since the modernism era, it refers to the way that is developed based on the integration and pastiche between various fields and genres shown in the modern art, the significance of meaning, the polysemy and the uncertainty. In other words, this researcher will propose the mechanism to interpret allegory for how allegory works and interprets a meaning in various ways in the photography education. Therefore, in this study, I intend to develop the discussion in the following methods. First of all, I aim to examine the concept and the history of allegory and present the theory of Walter Benjamin that newly developed the concept of allegory in the modern art and Paul de Man’s methodology that opened the way for a new dismantling interpretation in the modern art. And, as the application and the method of the photography education, I intend to present the way for the interpretation of meaning and the appreciation criticism through the meaning of allegorical photography and the methodology of analyzing the works. Since allegory is a somewhat difficult concept at the elementary level, I would like to propose an interesting allegory connection structure by personifying the object.
고속 전환특성을 가진 자동부하전환 개폐기의 구동메커니즘의 동적 해석

The automatic load transfer switch (ALTS) typically automatically transfers electrical loads from a normal<br/> electrical power source to an emergency electrical power source upon reduction or loss of normal power<br/> source voltage. It can also automatically re-transfer the load to the normal power source when the normal<br/> voltage has been restored within acceptable limits. The transfer operation of ALTS is accomplished by a<br/> spring-driven linkage mechanism. In this paper we build a dynamic model of driving mechanism for ALTS<br/> using ADAMS and checked the characteristics of the transfer operation. Finally we performed a detailed<br/> design of the driving mechanism through results of analysis and confirmed it to satisfy design requirements.
