OECD test guideline 420 고정용량 급성경구독성시험법에 대한 고찰

The OECD acute toxicity guideline has been revised recently to protect animal welfare. The GLP authority of the Ministry of Environment, the National Institute for Environmental Research, recommended GLP laboratories in Korea to use the revised acute toxicity guideline. This study was carried out to optimize newly adopted OECD test guideline 420 (TG 420). Bisphenol A was selected for test chemical. Following TG-420, Bisphenol A was classified as class 5/unclassified group. The revised TG 420 was very effective test in minimizing animal number and classifying chemicals. The method, however, had short-coming in evaluation of test results statistically because the test had no control group, and the test should be stopped when animals were dead at the lowest dose or alive at the highest dose. TG 420 required at least 20 animals to complete the test, but it could result in producing unused animals that need to sacrifice.
Spermatogenesis stage 분류와 Sertoli cell indices를 이용한 2-bromopropane의 생식독성평가

This study was carried out to assess the reproductive toxicity of 2-bromopropane (2-BP) using spermatogenesis stage classification and Sertoli cell indices (SCI). Vehicle control olive oil and 2-BP doses of 125, 250 and 500mg/kg of body weight were injected in the interaperitoneum of 12 weeks male Sprague-Dawley rats for 28 days respectively. Stage specificity of 2-BP at low dose (125mg/kg) on the spermatogenesis showed significant decreases of SCI on germ cells including the spermatogonia of stages Ⅱ-Ⅲ, Ⅵ, Ⅹ, ⅩⅠ, ⅩⅢ, and spermatocytes of stages Ⅷ (preleptotene), Ⅹ (leptotent), ⅩⅡ (zygotent), Ⅴ and Ⅵ (pachytent), and the round spermatids of stage Ⅵ. Considering the process of maturation depletion in spermatogenesis, spermatogonia may be the primary target cells of 2-BP toxicity.
FPGA를 이용한 SAW Device Reader Platform 구현

SAW Device 라는 Passive 소자는 ID Tag 나 소형센서들을 대체할 수 있는 MEMS 기술의 초소형 Device 다. 이 SAW Device 를 이용하면 독립된 공간이나 전원이 필요한 센서 제어 등을 대신할 수 있을 것이다. 이렇게 활용범위가 확대됨에 따라 다양한 SAW Device 를 사용하기 위한 플랫폼이 요구된다. 하지만 현재 SAW Sensor는 많은 발전을 해왔지만 SAW Sensor 를 활용할 수 있는 플랫폼의 발전은 미흡하기 때문에 본 논문에서는 이러한 SAW Device 의 측정이 가능한 SAW Reader를 FPGA를 이용하여 좀 더 간단하고 효율적인 Reader platform 을 구현해 보고자 한다. The Passive Device called SAW Device of the ID Tag or a small sensor that can replace all of MEMS technology Micro Device. When using SAW Device will be able to replace that sensor control the power needed or separate space. Enlarge the scope of this advantage to use as a platform for various SAW Device is required. However, the current SAW Sensor development has many, but SAW Sensor that can leverage the platform's development is sketchy. Therefore, this paper implements SAW Reader can be measured in SAW Device Using an FPGA more simple and efficient Reader platform.
랫드에 주입된 세피오라이트에 의한 폐기능 변화 및 생체내구성 평가

Two kinds of sepiolite (sepiolite 1, sepiolite 2), a 500℃ heat treated sepiolite (sepiolite 500), and a 700℃ heat treated sepiolite (sepiolite 700) were analyzed for their physicochemical properties. After these sepiolites were instilled into rat lungs, the effects of these substances on lung function and biochemical changes were evaluated. In addition, the fibers in the lungs were counted and characterized after the lungs were treated for electron microscopical analysis. The lungs instilled with sepiolites increased their weight and tidal volume statistically significantly compared with the unexposed control. The numbers of lymphocytes and polymorphonuclear cells (PMN) in the bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid also increased compared with the control, indicating the sepiolite induced inflammation. The heat treated sepiolites, however, did not show any toxicological differences from the untreated sepiolites. Although sepiolite showed less change in fiber atomic % compositions ( sepiolite 500, Si 0.9%, p <0.01 ; sepiolite 700, Si 3.7%, p<0.05) than chrysotile (Si 9.7%, p<0.01), the durability of the fibers in the lungs could not be determined in this subchronic experiment.
